PAULLONDEN-No I don't mean 'Saturday morning at the Pictures'...'Stray' by Stray was their first-eponymous-L.P.,Hmmm?...Yes,'All in your mind' is a classic song but I haven't heard any of the other stuff apart from a single,'Mother nature/'s way',or something, which is fab.
SAHB are still touring in 2007 and (despite the loss of the main man many years ago) they are still one of the best live bands you will ever see, especially in a small venue....just about as tight a bunch of rockers out there...I have been a ridiculously devoted follower for many years, so if you get the chance then get out and see 'em..you wont be sorry.
Anyone know what venue this was in Syracuse? The Landmark or Onondaga War Memorial? I never heard of these guys but just cruising You Tube this past week - holy 'effin shit! These guys rule! How come Budgie and this band never made it in the States? The clown is killer on guitar. Check out Midnight Moses clip.
There were a very few of us in North America at the time who loved Alex and the band. And a couple of the rock mags at the time, Circus and Creem, championed them endlessly. But to no avail. They were just a bit too weird for North American audiences -- too punky for the Genesis and Queen fans, too quirky for the metal and hard-rock fans.
Kewl, another rocker that has heard of budgie. They and the sensational alex harvey band received a lot of airplay here in northern ohio, because of a fm radio station in Cleveland, WMMS, back in the day. Alex Harvey band and budgie played the old agora in Cleveland, at different times. Now ya know why Cleveland Rocks. Bands that were kinda unknown at the time would play Cleveland, and were always appreciated. Rush is also another known example. Read the back liner notes on their first album.

One of the truly great tunes of the 1970s. A great band. A shame there isn't more early footage, in good shape, of these legends.
A truly under rated rock act.

Loads of people have heard of Budgie! And Alex!
They come from these isles and we don't die at 25...Anymore than they do...Neither got the
Credit they deserve, nor did Nazareth,Man or The
Groundhogs or,indeed,Stray,in my opinion...Hear
The latters first l.p.,for instance.
