I want to get a LS strat, and polish the finish down to a thin, satin layer, just barely covering the wood at all, then throw a GFS dogear mean 90 in the bridge. I don't know, maybe since I play through a honky peavey classic 30 most of the time, I should save the P-90s for something darker than alder, but I do have a different single coil with a dogear humbucker sized cover, "Diesel Pickups" plain old 7.5K AlNiCo-V single coil, decent on my ash Vantage Avenger, probably good on a LS strat, eh?
hi im thinkin of gettin the lonestar but i would just like to ask to see how versatile it is cos i like playing all sorts from blues to heavy metal???
@guyusm It's one of the most versatile guitars out there. You won't be able to blast out metal like with dimarzio pickups, but there isn't a guitar out there that can match a true heavy metal tone while still being able to cover the many genres the lonestar absolutely nails with the texas specials and pearly gates combo.
It has to be my all time favourite guitar for playing blues, and has the same middle and neck pickups as the Stevie Ray Vaughan signature strat (which is what sold it to me).
I changed the tubes in my Little Giant and it made a DRAMATIC difference. I didn't use anything out of the ordinary either (EHX 12AX7 and a JJ EL84 because that's what the store had on hand).
Now it doesn't break up nearly as early. Lots more clean headroom. And when it DOES break up, LOOK OUT MAN!!
dunno whether to get a lone star strat or a standard h s s, the price difference is ten pounds (£410-419) but you seem to get alot more with the lone star, namely texas special singlecoils, compared to standard and a seymor duncan rather then standard humbucker. But I much prefer the looks of the maple neck rather then rosewood. But I dont know what the difference in tone is with the wood. Any suggestions?
at 1:58 when you swithed the sound to the kinda warm, lower drive tone (the part sounds like´Oh Me´by Nirvana), where was the drive from? the Blackheart or some pedal? please, if anybody knows, tell me.. great demo anyway
Thanks, so there are no sound comming of the Blackheart all alone? I mean if the marshall were not plugged.. What kind of amp do you recomend for a beginner?
Hey Ted, I was wondering, will I be able to get this kind of sound with pedals instead of using the mentioned preamp? I have a bunch of high quality botique stomp boxes (some Keeley's and MI Audio's) what do you think?
For Jimmystageright. The purpose was simply to illustrate the Blackheart head is great with pedals and preamps/pods,etc.Not ALL the tone is from just the preamp. Its also the BH's tube tone in there as well. The Lonestar is around 7 bones.Worth every penny ! Thanks to all.
i hope you all realize hes runing the signal from his instrument into a preamp for the overdrive and then into the blackheart. they do seem to sound good, but im not sure what the purpose of a blackheart demo is if the tone is being produced by a preamp
Dear Frank Zappa, with that name you have all my respect, and thank you kindly for your comment.Zappa was an amazing man. That little riff is a small piece of one of my tunes.Yes its a Mex Lonestar and it really is worthy.I have no complaints. The little giant BH amp is really nice.
Yep folks this little amp works very well.Easy to get good tones from it.I love the low tube wattage for recording.Still enjoying it very much evey time I plug in.
Perfect guitar

what we're hearing is your $10,000 dollar preamp.
not the little giant.
000steelandstone000 2 years ago
It would be nice if we could just hear the amp, not a preamp.
sepulchre10 2 years ago
The Peavey Rockmaster is more responsible for the sound you are hearing more than the Blackheart!

Which cabinet is the Marshall? Is it a 1x12?
MisterShred 2 years ago
which is louder,
the half stack or the combo?
29396 2 years ago
they should be the same volume, they both have a 12" speaker, but i don't own one....yet.
aw350meman69 2 years ago
same volume, but the half stack is more versatile, and you could just buy the head and a 2x12 if volume is an issue.

Bit of a nooby question here, but could this head run through a combo amp...like use the combo's speakers?
ToffeeConor 3 years ago 2
You can solder a 1/4 male jack to the speaker's wires, and plug that into the head.
Just be sure you have the impediance all worked out.
and don't turn either amp on without the speakers connected!

Anybody watching this video,
What would be louder,
a 30 watt solid state or this 5w tubed?
XMatthewXmassacreX 3 years ago
30 matt prob
menga111 3 years ago
Believe it or not, they can be more or less the same volume-wise. Maybe the 30 W SS is slightly louder.
But the SS at high volumes will sound like crap, while the tube will sound amazing.
daeerion 3 years ago
hey man.
How exactly do you hook the head into a combo amp??
Id like to just buy the head instead of putting out money for the cab you know. Also,
How loud could you compare this amp to?
