  • sting, andy and stuart ....you will always be part of my life...great music

  • this is my favrite music vidoe they are epic

i also love message in a bottle that isawesome

  • @SuperOneway, are you on acid?

  • wat did i say

  • That guitar is simply wonderful. You gotta hand it to Andy, a very inventive, fantastic musician. This song still gives me the same feeling as it did all those years ago when I first heard it on radio Hilversum.

  • Are you joking? Cas Haleys version sounds like generic radio rock.

  • that is awesome, what is your native tongue?

  • I have a 21 years old and the police is amazing band is the best band because they music is diferent... i love him

  • Wow this conversation is much more beautiful than that which accompanies the 'Quentin Tarrantion Slaps Camerman' video.

    I wonder why.

    Some may say...

  • sort of like "Fools in love" Joe Jackson

  • <3 FAV

  • Because Sting has magical powers!

  • Favorite song

  • Rien ne vaut les anciens groupe de rock' <3 .

  • Is it true that this song was originally going to be "giant steps are what I take, walking around the room"? Supposedly Sting after a night of heavy drinking.

  • Yes, that is actually true.

  • Good to know, thanks!

  • Actually maybe as a small correction, Sting didn't write that lyric "after" the night of heavy drinking, he did it *while* he was drunk. It's in an interview with him somewhere.

  • Hehe.. Stewart always uses things he finds around for drums xD

Hey... yeah Sting's not playing a bass... =S

Bet they asked him in some interview back in the 70s or early 80s

  • lol my dad listens to this all the time

  • Definately a classic song. Awesome, and thanks for the words!

  • those vikings rocked

    long life police

  • Love this song. I was driving on the motor way the other day going 150mph with the windows down and this song blasting. AMAZING!

  • this is sorta ska/reggaeish... i like it it sorta sounds a little like matisyahu...

  • one of my all time fave's by them!

  • The plural of favourite is favourites without an apostrophe so the plural of the abbreviated Fave is Faves without the apostrophe, not Fave's with an apostrophe, got it?

  • i'm a speed typist and don't bother about things like that. i'm not so anal.

  • Can I send my papers to you so you can edit them for me??

  • Who the hell goes on youtube just to correct grammar???

  • Er, excuse me, it's a capital Y and T in

    YouTube! YouPlonker

  • Sorry, you're not excused, since you do not use correct punctuation.

  • LMAO i was just about to say you will notice i NEVER use caps either HAHAHAHAHA except when s t r e s s i n g something. i'm not on this page to argue with some fastidious person. i'm here to discuss the police. i mean as in the band: the police, with sting. intereSTING eh? type all you like back - i'm lafffin & subject closed ;-) don't keep taking bait from a light weight.

  • This is my favorite song from The Police

  • Awesome

  • I love the police

  • Okay so why does a band named "The police" give me a dammed bad feeling in 2009 ?

Times changed, police changed ? Defintely law changed!

  • With much respect from Italy...

  • man stewart copeland can get sounds out of a drum set noone else can. this band is great

  • Can you believe Stewart was in that "Doors of The 21 Century" band a few years ago? Kinda sad.....

  • I have always been a fan of this group.

Stewart Copeland's drumming is the glue that holds it togehter.

It's too bad that they didn't record more songs, I would have loved to had seen where the would have taken it.

  • i know its hard to believe they didnt last super long, they were kind of like an instant success, theres alot of bands that take a while to make anything good, but theyve been playing great music and never stopped until they broke up

  • Cas Haley -walking on the moon :D

  • Fuck this cover singer. They never made something themself. They are doing covers for money (1 million - good thanks terry fator won) not for the emotions or the zeitgeist

  • Brilliant! I just LOVE the reggae beats with upbeat and intelligent, thoughtful lyrics. Romantic, but never corny. I love them all!!!

  • super song 64 so let's kill some raper,

    hails from Argentine

  • The Police, often imitated but never fucking surpassed!

  • cas who ????

  • MUSIC!!!! is the important thing... this version of course is a million billion times better... the chords, the rithm, the mystic sense... everything... you can take your bullshit vocal-no brain and make whatever you want.. god save The Police

  • cas haley's version is alot better in my opinion

  • well is not a mortal sin... you can be wrong now and later realize that you was wrong and then you're gonna be a better person... good luck in your personal journey...

  • the drummer in this...ineffible

  • it would be so cool if they made this song on the moon

  • tommorrow another day

  • every day i walk on tha moon..

    i'm from Amsterdam...

  • Giant Shits are what I take

    walking on the moon

I hope my toilet dont break

    walking on the moon

  • ahahaha!!!

  • rap music sucks, cas sucks,,,,,the police are monumental and have made their mark in music history

  • yo the police are good man but ure gonna say that cas sucks?.....

  • felicitationt

  • nothing against cas but until he goes platinum with a few records he's not better than sting...

  • The best that Cas has to date is a unique, but well done, cover of a song written by someone who is widely considered one of the great solo artists, vocalists, and lyricits of our time. With over 70 million records sold between himself and his The Police. Opinions are one thing (he is talented), but he has a LOOOOOONG way to go before being mentioned in the nearly the same league as Sting.

  • I love their music vids, so simple and amusing and they are always such fun to watch (because they simply HAD fun making their vids)! : D

PS: Man, I'm so tired of this Sting-Cas-discussions! Cas' version was so completely different, you cannot even compare it.

  • agree completely

  • this band is on my top favorite!

  • haha why do so many people talk shit on youtube? i wonder how these people act when confronted in person

  • Cas Haley sings this song much better! You should check him out!!

  • ahhhh i am 16 again....

  • One hit wonder? The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame does not induct One hit wonders!

  • rapper??

trust me.......im the furthest ting from a rapper youll probly ever c.........so go kill yourself dipstick

  • phahaha...kill yourself now... I would not know but I think you are some kind of raper ?

    I hate them also,so we are even...xD

  • you hate rappers motherfucker? we,rappers do not hate you,why do you hate us? i like rock very much but when i see the scum-bags like you i want to puke!

  • I love Gordon! <333

  • Because these big music corporations are idiots, and have no idea that video can be ripped, stopping embedding only stops legitimate advertising of their bands.

  • Why dissable embedding? comme on!!! hate that...

  • One hit wonder? Message in a bottle/ Roxanne/ Every Breath You Take/ Every Little Thing She Does is Magic/ Spirits in the Material World/ De Do Do Do De Da Da Da/ Don't Stand So Close (to me)/ Can't Stand Losing You

  • Congratulions....you're a moron. Your parent's must be so proud.

  • After listening this song for 20 years, I come to understand the real meaning, I always new certain people know things that you and me dont know, and some other ones that we will never know

  • I love them

    the police best for ever

  • geordie boys

  • スティングのレゲエ節炸裂!

  • First Police song I ever heard. Sucked me in and I've been a fan ever since.

  • totaly agree...

  • geordie boy7s for life

  • Sting have a great voice, nobody can sing like him awesome accent..!

  • The guy's enjoy making'em playing the great outdoors. Some bands just don't need to hide behind big budget presentations.

    The Beatles come to mind.

The last decade we've seen an increase in special effects because the labels figure it'll mean greater returns. I was a teen in the 1980's, but I've studied music video's from the 50's on up, and today's modern industrial made groups suck so bad I feel sorry for today's generation of all 'image first, music last'. They're being short changed.

  • Couldn't of said it better. Less is more sometimes as in film. Its called minimalism.

Its about the music FIRST and and its made to Heard .

  • Go Dave lol !!

  • This video is quite funny and intelligent: 80's, so not much special effects. Simple, ironic, the place is connected to the lyrics. Probably they didn't want to spend to much money for all their video and they did it in a intelligent way. The Police never wanted to take it too much seriously, they always wanted to appear as musicians, very good musicians, just that. This is the reason why this video is in the history of the videomusic. Great job.

  • Yes !! you have every right !!! I like Police so much !! this song is good for sleep =D

  • honestly i don't see anything wrong with this video. there are worse music videos, like journey's "separate ways". what were they thinking...?

  • the original moonwalk 40 years ago!

  • Now 40 years ago , the moonwalk in 1969 !!

  • i forgot all about this song. what a classic

  • CAS HALEY..look it up people..

  • hi everybody...please check out my channel for the police cover...feel free to comment..thanx

  • dude we are on this video because we want to hear the original, not some fucked up teen who needs to get attention.

you young people really think ya'll can create this kind of music. ya should keep ya claws off this song and go read a book.

  • Super Special Sounds..!!!

  • You have to love police videos, 3 guys walking around super high pretending to play there instruments

  • the police!!!!!10starrs!!*<333

  • EYO-EYO-YO-YO.....

  • told my friends about this song, never heard of it they said. hope they find it here !

  • stuart copeland's drumming in this is just great.

  • totally agree

  • the police define the sound of the early1980s,oh to be young again!

  • listent to this on the beach or while your high, youll have a blast

  • GUARANTEED!!!!!!!

  • good as :D

  • Love it!

    Ya' heard!?

  • c sting is legend. n cas haley is new. i dont think u can compair the two. the video, the song ats its time coz a blast in industry n was massive hit.

  • cas haley made it sound like Justin Timberlake...

Sting pw3nd and 0wn3d cas haley before haley was even born.

  • you're right..

  • I enjoy listening to the Police, They rocked.

  • Then after like 10 minutes they're all like... wait... Sting's ears are worth millions of dollars, what's this cleaning lady doing. So they took him to a hospital.

  • My dad's friend is one of sting's friends

  • high five!

  • Indeed it is cool. They traveled half the world together and stayed in a presidential suite together.

They were with each other when sting got a flower bud stuck in his ear, after a concert. (He put a flower in his ear to block out the extremely loud music, but it ended up getting stuck in his ears.) Then my dad's friend and sting went back to the hotel to get the flower out, and there was like a cleaning lady working on his ears with like a plier.

    :) wish i was there

  • ur sting's friend even if u just listen to his music

  • the chorus is really great, the verse is very chill

  • Ignorant, inexperienced "emo chicks" should hereby be banned from promoting their ditzy views, not just on this song, but on anything that filters through to their not-so-bright heads. Peace.

  • amen

  • Twat.

  • Better than the original?? Don't think so, but everyone's entitled to their opinion...

  • Yeah, but he didn't write it, now did he? Interesting how that works.

  • simple but striking... this song i like this song...

  • Buena banda, la mejor!!!

  • stingg i love u

    goodd song ((:

  • i don't speak english but thayt's very good song!!!!

  • Great song to cruise by the beach at night with the top down.

  • Did you hear walking on the moon by cas haley, omg is so much better.

    Really u should hear it.

  • i just heard Cas Haley's version and, don't get me wrong, he's got talent, but not for that song...

  • You mean much worse.

  • I agree with BenBonin, Cas does a good job, but pulls it off by sounding like Sting. He's a great singer, but there is no substitute for the original sound that only the Police can produce.

  • I wish they were still together.

  • they came back and had a concert in 2007.

  • we sang this at . . . ET KARATE.

  • Piper Navajo Cheiftain is the plane im pretty sure

  • epic!

  • I've seen videos alot worse than this. Actually this one is pretty decent since Sting, Andy Summers and Steward Copeland weren't that bad looking =]

  • Great song.

but give cas haley credit he sang it perfectly

  • cas sang it better dan sting!

  • yup! ^^

  • this song has always been a favorite but i notice i get more and bored of the 1:20 long segment where they just go "keep it up eyoyoyoyo"

  • Ironic how one of the best songs ever written was also made into the worst video ever created.

  • No. Cas Haley doesn't sing better than sting. Go watch your Cas Haley videos.

  • on come on it's not that bad for the 80's! u wanna see a HORRIABLE music vid? The song is the best, but the video... eh! i shutter just thinking about it! It's time stand still by Rush!

  • its not about the videos retard its about the music

  • In my opinion rush are great musicians but they just dont know how to feel a song. The only songs they did that deserves respect are tom sawyer and YYZ the rest is just bad...

  • you don't know sh^^ boy.

  • 2112 is pretty good aswell

  • There's a cool drum & bass remix of this song.

I actually climbed into that rocket (the booster - if that's what it's called) when I was a little kid. NASA's about 30 minutes from my house.

  • haha sucha awesome song:) just learned it on guitar.. soo easy but soo fun lol

  • Love this song!

  • i hav to sing this in music class lolol

  • thats awesome.

  • uh yeah I like this song a lot and now I found it!! jippy!!!

  • I like this vid. when it came out it pretty unique for its time (late 70s) this was like 2-3 years before MTV so a lot vids in those days were pretty basic. Actually some of the other police vids were similar in style -standing around strumming tennis rackets in a class room, or standing in the snow-hey its what they did in those days:)

  • and i think there's a spell checker on here as well lol

  • Why isn't Sting playing a bass?

  • lol ya he's playing (syncing) bass lines on a 6 string guitar

  • top notch air guitar
