Its a great device but it just makes a lot of features left to be 'desired' when you see new phones with dual core or even single core with a next generation processor, and how it doesnt have Sense 2.0 that links the Htcsense.com website with it

I know the Evo 3D & the desire HD got better specs. But Im a HTC desire user & I got the desire (March or April 2010) before desire HD. So I'm getting 2.3 with latest sense 2.0, 2.1 or 3.0. I'm waiting for that update. So I'm passionate about this phone. It was the best spec in early 2010 because I got my HTC desire last year. but now its not the best specs anymore except the Amoled screen (beats desire HD SLCD screen). @AlrightOkaay

I own this Phone. But it's totally overhyped. Its no iPhone killer. Get an iPhone 4 or wait to see the new Windows Phones.

Android sucks. Crappy UI, crappy apps, crappy games, crappy music player, crappy video player, crappy battery life and a crappy screen (AMOLED is useless on a hot sunny day).

Oh yeah Adobe Flash runs so slow on a Phone that it is actually a drawback. Steve Jobs was right.

Cons imo:

- Superbad microphone when recording with the camera. Really really disappointed :(

- Battery life SUCKS!!

- You cant have a mp3 song as SMS message-signal

- Bad screen when theres sunlight

- Don't like the color but you can buy skins - You have to change song when listening to the mp3 with the screen. I like the way SE K800 where you can just hold the volume button.

I have a HTC Desire on 2.2 and its really great. Its more like a pc than an iphone. Flash 10.1, you can have a file manager, change onscreen keyboards to suit, expandable memory, replace battery, apps that can use whatever they want. 75 % of all video is flash so iphone users are left with 25% and they can't play all of that. Wifi hotspot is useful connected my ipod touch, ipad or laptop. Move apps to sd card. The screen is over half an inch longer than the iphone because of the bar at the bottm

For the screen, usability, visual experience, entertainment and fun I would pick the iPad because of it's large screen and huge amount of apps. 3.7 screen it's not enough to comfortably read web pages. And you can buy iPad with 3G if you want.

@Issaland iPad with 3G doesn't make phone calls, so you'd be walking around with a big slate as well as a phone... iPad is fine for home use, but it's hardly pocketable is it? I surf fine (with full flash) using the Desire's screen.

Desire outspecs the current iphone, and in many ways the new iphone 4 too, although the specs for that aren't confirmed. If you want ease of use, go for iphone. Like tweaking your device? Go for Desire. Want the best specs? N8.

i got this phone, before you consider buying it please notice the phone only has about 100 mb left on the internal phone memory for apps, browser cache, emails, messages and so on ... you cannot use your SD card to install apps (without a hack) for me thats a big problem

Another epic victory in Froyo is the benchmark results: Froyo got 450% faster benchmark results than Eclair! If its only half true, it will be still an amazing improvement!

Okey, this phone actually looks ALOT better in RL than in any video, including this one. Brilliant design, perfect size and weight, did not test the screen tho. I managed to get a hold of the HD2 though, and i must say, it lagged..any1 got the same issue, is this the case for the desire as well?

@kjeoy I expect the HD2 was laggy because it runs Windows Mobile, which has never been particularly amazing. The Desire runs Android though, which is apparently a lot better.

Plus, more and more people everyday are being aware how much the iphone really sucks compared to other alternatives.
