To me, it's worth the price. You're getting a small, portable, light computer that blows away all other computers in the size range. Yes, $2000 is a bit much, but you're paying for the dedicated nVidia graphics card (which you barely see in a 13"), the i5 (which is also somewhat rare in 13"s), and most importantly, the SSDs in RAID 0 (which I've never seen before in a laptop this small). 2 SSDs in RAID 0 will destroy ANY regular hard drive in speed.
Beautiful laptop but of course it is way over priced. Just look at his face right before it cuts off when he mentions the price tag! A little bit sheepish dont you think lol
If you look at the specs, you will see that this is actually very worth it. It has a 512 gb SSD and a i7 core cpu running at 3.33 ghz, which is even faster than most gaming computers.
When SONY highlight the keyboard they are showing you how exposed the internals are to outside elements! As a business laptop it is NOT fit for purpose. Machines like the lenovo with active protection and dust proof/spillproof keyboards light theirs from above.
I have been a professional software programmer for 30 years and never before come across such a flaky unfit for purpose piece of junk!
Accidentally splash the keyboard and you have written off a laptop that is NOT business proof... dont take it anywhere wear kid cloves and you might get some use out of it...

This is not really a rip off because it has a Core i5/i7 cpu and fits a decent GPU into such a small size without overheating or being large and weighing a ton. Look at all the other computers, even the 13" Macbook Pro, and you will see that the specs on this blow everything else out of the water. If you want a gaming laptop, you should get an Origin Eon 18.

hmmm nope. do your research again. no mac has a bluray or weights 3 lbs. and none has SSD. plus i already check it, it would cost you around $500 more to get the exact same specification to match the last year vaio z. the reason why vaio z is so popular because they are basically netbooks without compromise. it weight nothing, very portable, battery is plentiful, and power is amazing. its an all in one laptop wihtout compromise.
however not everyone care abt that including yourself and u see vaio z as an entity that is not needed, however your just bring bias into ur judgement. Instead, try refraining yourself from bias and look at it again into the eyes who would look for a business laptop just like the vaio z.

backlight is very unnecessary (well not if u actually know HOW to type like myself), but a good addition; very beautiful made with the BEST material int he business, also improved upon already amazing floating keyboard design which was FIRST introduced by SONY back in 2003 with the almighty X505, and extremly cheap for what you are getting, SONY is killing the rest
the form factor, not the ports placement. the only problem I had with the last gen Z was it's not flat back to the front, this one is flat like the new X and the Macs. nothing to do with how they positioned the ports.

then how the fuck this kinda high specs start at 1900 a ripoff? let's start with MADE in Japan, then Carbon fiber with alum casting, then SSD RAID0:64GB/128GB x 4 layout that can write a 1GB file at about 4 seconds which that alone in a 128GB x 4 would cost u over 1500 dollars, then switchable graphic cards, 13'1 inch weigh less than 3 pounds with battery in, that even before I mention those high specs.
It´s a shame VAIO don´t feature the F-Series with a backlit keyboard in Europe!

@TheElectrixShow How is it low-end or re-branded? Sony doesn't market it as anything but a GT 330M. This is not really a rip off because it has a Core i5/i7 cpu and fits a decent GPU into such a small size without overheating or being large and weighing a ton. Look at all the other computers, even the 13" Macbook Pro, and you will see that the specs on this blow everything else out of the water. If you want a gaming laptop, you should get an Origin Eon 18.

hmmm nope. do your research again. no mac has a bluray or weights 3 lbs. and none has SSD. plus i already check it, it would cost you around $500 more to get the exact same specification to match the last year vaio z. the reason why vaio z is so popular because they are basically netbooks without compromise. it weight nothing, very portable, battery is plentiful, and power is amazing. its an all in one laptop wihtout compromise.

not in this new Z's case, u do understand this Quad configuration is a very unique Sony innovation that writes data in parallel to four SSDs, which NOBODY has done it, thus innovation, to cut down weight, more important about 3 times fasters than conventional SSD. so like I said, 512G in this new config would easily run u over 1500 dollars.
again, it's the money talk, 2500 for some might be expensive, but it's really cheap to think about it, my current Zs are at 5500 dollars each, and

the TT is 5100, and not to mention others like japan only carbon fiber model X505 was about 5000 back in 2003, and the 505 series i got thru 1997 to 2001 were like about 3000 each. so no, 2500 is really cheap in toda's money. but like u said for a student yes and for someone who has a regular job, yes it might be expensive.
so for me, value is when something is valuable no matter the cost. and one thing is only a GREAt value when it's very valuable. so in that sense, there u have it.

backlight is very unnecessary (well not if u actually know HOW to type like myself), but a good addition; very beautiful made with the BEST material int he business, also improved upon already amazing floating keyboard design which was FIRST introduced by SONY back in 2003 with the almighty X505, and extremly cheap for what you are getting, SONY is killing the rest

then how the fuck this kinda high specs start at 1900 a ripoff? let's start with MADE in Japan, then Carbon fiber with alum casting, then SSD RAID0:64GB/128GB x 4 layout that can write a 1GB file at about 4 seconds which that alone in a 128GB x 4 would cost u over 1500 dollars, then switchable graphic cards, 13'1 inch weigh less than 3 pounds with battery in, that even before I mention those high specs.
