that happned to me one time i punched a tree because i was so mad at somebody and got boxers punch broke it like this and went to the doctors when thay fix it its a pain what thay do is thay take a numbing needle and stick it where its broken and fill it up and you feel a lot of pressure after that thay set it and thay put a cast on it and set it some more sometimes i still feel it like a weard non hurting pain in the joint of break dont ever let happen to you it dont feel good lol

Anyone know if its normal to have inflammation on the punched knuckle after 7 weeks post injury? Doc said i didnt break it or fracture and it'll get better. but i can see me tendons moving under the skin and the middle knuckle is noticeably bigger. Also i have no more pinky knuckle, took that out a few years ago, so my right hand looks like an aliens! Any advice would make me happy. thanks

i smacked a wall when i lost my temper,i went to hospital 3 hours later, and they imobilized my hand.now was my 4th day of wearing immobilization,i supposed to have control on monday, but i have exam so i removed that imobili today, so i can just use pc normaly, so i wanted to ask if anyone knows, is that bad what i did. i assumed bones connected already, i dont feel pain, but am scared to use finger yet,its still numb, and wont move up easy - but i dont use fingers 4 and 5, so it should be ok?

Hi, i have broke all of my bones except the middle one..On my index finger, when i move it, something moves up my hand like a tendon? What i am asking is, would it be best to get my last finger knuckle broken or seek treatment? It has been broken for over 10 years now...I can send you a photo of a video...Thank you

anyone ever break/fracture the 3rd metacarpel? i have a spiral fracture there... flew forward out of a backtuck during my cheer competition n caught myself (mostly on my left hand i guess) i got xrays n a splint at the hospital the day it happened (saturday) n i have an orthopedic appointment tomorrow (tuesday)

Hey guys I recently injured my 4th and 5th metacarpal from a fight. The pain was very intense so after I iced it. Would it be safe to get a splint I'm looking at a TKO without the doctors diagnosis. I don't have insurance and I don't think I can afford the doctors diagnosis please help.

@duncantiatia1 yea hit the side of a truck a year ago had to wear a sast at a 90 degree angle for 12 weeks and had 7 weeks of rehab for my hand! and it still hurts on a day to day bases! Even if it doesnt hurt now a it will hurt later for sure! TRUST ME! it has changed my life i cant box anymore i can only do ju jitsu for like 30 minutes at a time! it is very very serious and will change alot just go get it checked you will regret it if you dont!!

I hit my fist going up for a rebound in basketball, and injured my 4th and 5th metacarpels, i've gone to see a doctor two weeks ago, and he said if any swelling occurs or pain occurs, that i should go for an x-ray, but haven't gone yet, and still have pain in both parts. i've played 3 games, and 5 practices with buddy taping on.

I hit my hand against a wall and have full range of movement and only a small bruise between my 4th and 5th metacarpals. I don't feel any grinding or clicking and there is no pain during movement. Do you think it's just a bruise?

I broke my second metacarpal a year ago didnt get any treatment and now I got this bump just below the knuckle on my index finger its about the size of a quarter and sticks outward about 5 milimeters. Should the bump be this big?

Are you getting pins put in? if your squeamish, just dont watch what they're doing and you'll be fine, the pain after the freezing wears off is pretty bad but only lasts about 4 hours. the docor is going to take my splint off in 4 days and check on it so i'll get to see what it looks like..a bit gross

Yes I have a boxer's fracture on my metacarpal neck #2 "my index finger" on my right hand and i am right handed. Will I ever be able to write or draw the same again? I did go through surgery immediately after i broke it?

I visited the doc two weeks ago & he said give it another two weeks with the plaster it should be good. So I did & I can bend it all the way with no pain.

I fractured my pinky knuckle from fighting. & got 2 plaster & cut them both off. I can bend it now, as I wasn't able to 2 weeks ago. Should I keep it on a wrist splint a week or two just to make sure it's healed? I'm a huge baseball guy & took some swings today & got a little bit of pain. I dropped my knuckle in a fight, i went to the hopsital a few days after noticing how bad the pain was... but it is still weird now, it has angled and when i move my pinky downwards my ring finger follows like it is attached. It is awweful.

Think before fighting kids... or atleast learn to punch before ;D

fractured my 5th metacarpal 3 weeks ago because I lost my temper and hit a steel door. It didn't help that I've been boxing for a while and know how to punch. Don't ruin your summer like I did. Make sure you wear padded gloves and hand wraps before punching. I just pray that I can still box after this heals even though I deserve this for losing my temper. Good luck to all of you with this injury.

i once punched a kid in the back of the head and got a boxers fracture... i had it on for 6 weeks went to the doctor and found out it got wet and dislocated again..i had it on for 8 more weeks and it ruined my spring break to all of you out there dont be stupid before you do something think about it

God i remember when i broke my metacapals... first time i punch the outside wall of my house, broke the 4th and 5th metacarpal on my right hand. 5th metacarpal break caused an open fracture. Got both realligned why drugged up, still painful as all hell. 6 weeks later my hand was almost finished healing and i punch a trophy case window with my left hand not realizing it was shatter-proof. Broke the fifth metacarpal n had 2 fucked hands. WORD TO THE WISE, stupid actions cause unwanted reactions

I used a Hely & Weber TKO brace when I had a boxer fracture. I highly recommend the brace. Way better than a cast.

I punched something 5 years ago and had Xrays by a nonspecialist. They told me my 3rd metacarpal was bowing and that I shouldn't punch stuff.

It's been 5 years and I'm starting to want to compete in boxing within the next few years, but it hurts when I punch things heavily. I made an appointment with a specialist.

I punched my house so hard the neck didn't break, The bone fractured right in the middle. :( Just started having "charlie horses" in my knuckle so I'm researching, I set it myself, got a splint, then a cast. 23 more days till the cast goes.

@nabilebraheim No, Im not angry just feel foolish! My xray looked a lot worse though, my 5th metacarpel broke into 2 separate pieces. I got it operated on yesterday, they pulled it back together using a wire, Im in a cast for 6 weeks and then theyre operating to remove the wire, quite painful!
