Good point man, I would not take interviews like this too seriously because Thompson has not released the planks he will support on his campaign as of yet. From what I have seen though is plenty of substance from his written articles which give a much better picture I think. From what I understand, he is a Federalist (Separation of Federal and State government giving states much more power) and conservative on social issues such as marriage and abortion.
He is a fiscal conservative compared to Bush but by no means a libertarian. Pro War and Pro Fence, only weakness I foresee is in dealing with immigrants already here, seems uncertain.

Funny, but on the news this afternoon CNN they were discussing this topic re Thompson's "slowmo" and one of the commentators said "yes...to many people this makes Thompson appear to be "lazy!"...which is not good. A 'talking head' said similar words on Fox News last week. I agree. Thompson's campaign manager needs to light a firecracker under him! Oh, I like Thompson, but I really don't think he has enough "fire in de belly" to be president/ Commander in Chief.
