The flat stinks of animals, as the man used to kill them, and now their spirits are haunting him. The wife can smell them, but only the girl can see their spirits. The odd thing is that the wife suggests that the stench is attributable to the flat, while the flashbacks/hallucinations also portray the abuse as having happened there. This suggests that when outside the man doesn't stink, and yet it's unlikely the man lived there as a child, if only because of the reference to a previous owner.

She keeps getting ill because she's seeing visions of the husband as a murderer. She confronts him at the end & I get the impression he tells her something that points to him killing his wife soon.

Volumes 1-4 have been released on DVD and I've got them all thus far but I don't recognise this episode so it might not be available outside Japan and with English subs yet. Not every episode is brilliant but they're usually pretty creepy.

the guy was the little boy who enjoyed killing animals. Because he did this, he was cursed with the smell of dead animal or w/e that smelled really bad. So the girl got sick watching or the smell probably got stronger
