Yes but when Reagan was in office there wasn't out-sourcing and the issues we have now with big business. We gave tax breaks under Bush and it didn't revive anything because it doesn't trickle down. There aren't new jobs being created HERE they go elsewhere. I mean the honest truth is that the whole playing field has changed. Now we have electronical dividens money frm the internet and so much has changed. So you can say some nice things about Reagan but it comparing when so much has changed? No
If you do a little research regarding the tax surplus that was available during the Clinton presidency you would recognize that once Bush became president, the monies went right into Defense spending. The 911 scam (see building 7) gave the 'excuse' for Defense spending. The banks (recently) extorted the rest of the money. People are too lazy to do the research. When Ann Coulter regurgitates ill thought out sound bites (and I do think Ann is hot!) TV shows contribute to the problem.
The answer to Whoopi's question is that Clinton never left any money & Bush never saw a spending bill he didn't like. And Reagan raised taxes overall, he just lowered a few popular rates.

When Clinton came into office, national debt as a %age of GDP was 46%; it was 39% when he left. Bush II took it from 39% to 75%.

GREEDY banks (Like Bank of America, & Capital One & others) with their high interest rates on loans & credit card finance charges, bad mortgage loans, predatory mortgage loans have helped tremendously hurt the economy. Also, GREEDY businesses with rising prices have hurt because wages are not going up enough to keep up with the HIGH COST OF LIVING.
