  • I like the music

  • Cool video...

    The video sucks!!!

  • CROSBY=BOSS. PERIOD

  • You want to see every game on live from the comfort of your home ?

    watch them here:

    watch?v=EmzYTxAV5nI

  • We're going to make it Happen Again, Canada! Check out Andy Kim Happen Again Olympic Tribute video on Youtube!

  • Eric Robert Rudolph is a big hit at an Olympic event!

  • canadian media is pathetic in that they desperately condemn brits for criticizing their game constructively, but the thing is it's not just brits who think this olympic is an epic fail, I work at a venue and I see hordes of spectators who are fed up with canadian bigotry on game organizations. Remind you not everyone is used to waiting for hours in the cold like canadians.

  • @keitketsudaze

An epic fail? Those are the words of another Olympic bandwaggon jumper that knows nothing about previous games. Compared to previous games Vancouver issues have been minor and were worked out immediately. Visitors to Vancouver that have been to previous games have said this is by far the best time they've ever had at an Olympics. It's so typical of todays society to not talk about the good stuff though.

  • Maybe you shouldn't be working the "Winter Olympics" if your not used to waiting in the cold.

  • I can't believe you people. You talk negative informations about something you don't even know for sure. If you want better event, think of any. Talking negative is pulling your personality down.Even your so cold country is not backing you up. What made you think you have the best idea..Who want attention?

I'm a person who live in Vancouver and i'm so happy to welcome people who are open minded and so excited for the events.

Sorry haters, i'm glad your kind is not here.

  • Excellent, moving, inspirational, classy, and beautiful OPENING CEREMONIES in Vancouver on Friday night.........and to doct0thrill........I've watched them ALL since 1976. :-)

  • You people need to shut up and stop talking so much crap about each other now! God, what's you problem?

  • Vancouver is beautiful

  • Time for canada to experience this. Judge when they are over, they barely just started

  • the american government will be remeberd as a horrible joke gone wrong, Obama couldnt even attend.

  • @likespaintball im actually happy he didnt attend.... im ashamed to call him our president... and btw how many other countries heads of state didnt attend?.... A LOT

  • black people dont care about winter sports

    just kidding

but seriously obama dont give a fuck

  • who cares about the 4rt poll or whatever you call it didnt come up, who cares if there was a mistake. The ceremony was buitifull and entertaining, if the states or any one else are going to make fun of the 4th poll not coming up, well than let them and who cares. If they do their doing it out of jelousy and they cant find anything better to do than make fun of one of the most loved countrys in the world. People make mistakes, the flame was still lit.

  • @likespaintball i tiiok the 4th pole not coming up a a sigh of rememberance for the fallen olympian so its was a very good ceremony

  • @doct0rthrill I see you're a pleasant person, hit me up when your cynicism eats a hole so big in your soul you resort to being a dick on youtube comments.

    Ah shit, you're already there.

  • last night's performance was one of the worst in olympic history. i would rather see my fellow canadians take it as a motivation to do well than congratulate each other for a half ass product. our american friends are laughing at us now and look at wayne gretzky's face last night. it's not about being nice and positive. we fucked up big time. don't pretend we did a great job.

  • Actually, its been roundly praised as one of the better opening ceremonies for a winter games.

  • only the canadian press. there is nothing wrong with the content. actually I enjoyed the first half of the show. but the overall organization, delivery and technical stinks. olympic ceremonies are very formal. last night's performance was too canadian and below the normal standards of past ceremonies.

  • @doct0rthrill

"Too Canadian"?! Are you kidding? At least it is Canadian, which is more than I can say about you

  • you don't understand. olympics have standards and very formal. everything is top quality from the venues, equipment, organization, to the people running it. that's why hosting the games are so expensive. it is time my fellow canadians look outside our borders and see how things are done internationally. this is not only canada's game, but also the world's games. our opening ceremony should be presented in a way that can be understood by everyone. making it too canadian is going to backfire.

  • I do understand. Quit taking everything so seriously, your never going to enjoy life if you continue to walk around with a stick up your butt. Yes they are formal, but it's not like we had streamers, balloons, and party hats. If I recall, the Olympics in Beijing had alot of dancers, (much like the native dancers we had) to make it their own. Yes it is everyone's game, you also have to see that this opportunity does't happen all the time, so we are taking it, and showing the world who we are.

  • running the olympics is a serious job since the bar is set so high. if vancouver is not ready to host, don't waste billions of tax payer dollars. there is a good chance that canada will never see another olympics ever again. thanks a lot vancouver from toronto.

  • I don't think it matters what we did, or do because there is always going to be a handful of you that will always find something wrong. There is always going to be negativity from other Countries because it's not on them, and there's always going to be people from Canada bitching about "Tax dollars" because that is what you do best... look at the bad in everything. You will go the rest of your life miserable because you can't see the good in ANYTHING.

  • there is nothing wrong with criticism if it is genuine. just benchmark this olympics with all the others and you will see this is clearly one of the worst. there are new issues every day. the whole thing began on a down hill slide since day 1. this makes canada looks bad. there is nothing wrong with not hosting the games. now our deficiency is on the table for everyone to see.

  • @doct0rthrill

lol Another Olympic bandwaggon jumper... Practice what you preach and go benchmark these games to others, you will quickly find out that Vancouver hitches have been minor and mainly weather related. But you wouldn't know that because you only follow these sports for two weeks every four years, right?

  • olympic games happen once every 4 years. how do you "follow" them at other times?

  • @doct0rthrill

My point is, you don't follow these sports other than what you see at the Olympics, so how could you possibly know if something is a fail or not? Compare it to other games and championships, it's a success.

So go compare Vancouver with previous games and you will find out that these games have been a HUGE success. Also, every Olympic games is surrounded with the same "fail" label when a few things go wrong. Wait until the rain in England two years from now. lol

  • the only other games as bad as this one i can think of is atlanta 96. calgary 88 is quite horrible too. but the games has changed since barcelona 92 so can't really count anything before that.

  • ya well that mean soooo fucking much coming from you, where did you say you were from, Toronto? No wonder you're so bitter.

  • @doct0rthrill

Don't continue to tell people you're Canadian, youre the only embarrassing thing here

  • @doct0rthrill MORON

  • @ poppoff3 you are an american and you like that garbage my country put up last night? well, at least it's better than atlanta 96.

  • Look at this hilarious overreaction. One of the worst Olympic ceremonies ever? There was one glitch.

Or am I to assume you've watched every single Olympic opening ceremony ever all the way through for comparison?

  • well. i know this one is better than atlanta 96 for sure. i watched all the openings since calgary 1988. i say you can't count anything before seoul 88 because opening ceremonies has changed since then. but in terms of overall quality, vancouver is among the bottom 5 with atlanta being the worst, barcelona, turin, beijing, and athens among the top 5 sydney a distance sixth. no one ever fucked up the cauldron like we did. and i tell ya, this is not little. it's a big time world class farce.

  • I AM SO PROUD TO BE CANADIAN...........and to the rest of the world, WATCH US FLY !!

  • proud? we fucked up totally last night. this olympics will be one of the lowest point in history.

  • R.I.P. my georgian friend. holland

  • NO FUCKING SNOW

  • Downtown Eastside?

  • I love Olympic Games! I love the original spirit of the Olympic Games!

  • For me the Olympic Games have always been a peaceful event which unites the nations. Sports do unite us!

  • But that's because you are from the States, and Vancouver is not in the U.S. so wouldn't be bringing money for the U.S. -_-'....the Vancouver Olympics are expected to bring about 10 billion for Canada.

On a side note though, even if the Olympics do end up being in the red for Vancouver, the pride and joy of hosting the Olympics event, getting global recognition for Vancouver, improving the transportation, sport facilities, overall health, and entertainment side of Vancouver are all great.

  • Actually, I have lived in BC for 29 years. I live in Kitsilano at the moment.

You are misinformed if you think the games will bring in 10 billion in revenue.

The money spent for these few weeks of fun could easily have solved more pressing issues in our city. Like the homeless, or perhaps our roads, maybe shorter hospital waits?

  • @Hax2tehMax

Remember there was a vote in Vancouver for the olympics and 64% of the voters wanted to hold it.

As for revenue, I remember reading its projected to be 10 billion according to the VANOC, but even if it was 2 billion thats still breaking even. It def. is not the negative value that you are "misinformed" about.

This money is meant for the Olympic games, but a lot of it is going to roads, hospitals, and the surrounding community, the Olympic fund isn't just for stadiums.

  • Don't harm the seals??? Sure, right after I save all the chickens, cattle and pigs. If your going to have a voice for one...have it for all or otherwise stop your bitching! This is a time for the world to come together for harmony and not for stupidity!

  • Go Slovakia, go Canada , go world !

  • Ya go this!!

    :D

  • @Paule The Queen ~you buying into this environment BS? As for the seals you do it you seem to have an endless amount of time for redundant matters. Go Canada!!!

  • Go Vancouver this is going to be amazing.

  • Keep the balls canadian ,Russians go hahaha

  • Well...It's fucking raining on whistler right now supposed to continue through Feb.

    Good Fucking Luck!!

  • No worries u guys got a huge dumping of snow early in the season, there just gonna use that snow and cover it up with tarp, till the olympics.

  • I am so proud to be Canadian...Love my American and European ties as well. So pleased for what the Olympics stands for. I don't care how many golds are won as long as fun is had and sportsmanship prevails. Go Athelites and may the very best win and if not a helluva story.

  • @ShilohNative , would you please make sure no seals are harmed too?

I know the blanchon will be all right, only if people and the environment could regroup that would be even greater.

    Good day

  • I am a proud Canadian! I am very glad we are hosting the olympics this year. It will bring many more tourists to Canada who will all want to buy seal fur clothing and souvenirs. I am proud to be a seal hunter - it is my culture and my heritage. I am following a proud family tradition of seal killers. I am proud to hunt seals and I am a proud Canadian!

  • LOL I;m from Toronto and trust me every city isn't perfect and yes every city has poverty and crime but for a world winter event, Vancouver is deffintitly the place and yes I have visited and have family there. Stop trying to down this event it should only do good for the city :)

  • @KFuzz606, there is a solution to all this poverty and big city issue, there really is. And not only through the Olympic games.

  • They didnt forget, the just dont care, and neither does anyone else, the games are avaliable to anyone with TV Sets, if you poor, then you need to be moved, how bad would it look for a city to have homeless people at the oylmpics game, let alone at anythime, they were not arrested, if ANYTHING they were relocated, for a bit

  • @LamaJoMaMa So? The Olympics brings together people from dozens of countries around the world. It brings together people of all ages, of all genders, of all passions. It unites people for two unfortunately short weeks. When I went to see the Torch Relay in Newmarket just North of Toronto with my class of 3rd and 4th graders I saw the look and happiness in their faces, and in the faces of everyone lining the streets, and I felt good. Are the Olympics commercialized? Of course. But what isn't?

  • Amazing video, and I'm sure you know that! I wish I had some footage like this to go with my original song dedicated to the winter Olympic athletes. It's a work in progress and is available by clicking 41Earth.

  • Never been to Canada, I must say out of reading and seeing pictures/videos Vancouver looks amazing entire Canada does but Vancouver is my favorite. I have a huge interest in visiting and if I like it that much I might just move there to live who knows. I am born in Bosnia Sarajevo but currently living in Sydney Australia. Kind Regards.

My country isn't really a winter sports kind of place, but still I'll bee cheering for our delegation (not that we have a chance -_-).

I read from the comments that somebody's boycotting something... What is there to boycott in Canada? It's like the nicest country in the world...

  • @AnnaPresman not so fast... and yes amongst them. people who refuse to answer good morning aren't welcoming. People who refuse to be open minded are welcoming, people who think the Olympics Games are only there form financial reasons aren't welcoming.

What are the Olympic Games for?

    good day to you

  • Visitors coming to VANCOUVER.

The 2010 Olympics is a corporate event that bankrupts cities. Please also be aware of Homelessness issue in and around BC.

More specifically the east side of downtown vancouver...

Home of the Homeless in Canada. The Provincial and Federal Governments have failed on this issue decades ago.
