  • this sounds A LOT like primus

  • I love this song. It's amazing how it sounds almost entirely different from Rush, save the vocals of course. The drums, gutar, lyrics, and even the bass sound really different from Rush.

  • thumbs down fag

  • Wow this is really good! Never would've expected Ged to be this good without Al or Neil...

  • headache ? 任せてください。

  • You can really hear Neil Peart's influence in this song.

  • Neil Peart had nothing to do with this song.?

  • Did you just say Les Clapool sucks?

You have no soul. (I still think Geddy is better though)

  • One man standing on the plains of Abraham!

  • watching a damaged sunrise!

    man i love this song.

  • One man standing on the edge of a quiet BREAK DOWNNN

  • ROFLMFAO i was reading the comment just as i heard it

  • i hate primus but this duz sound like them. les claypool sux and geddy rules

  • If I were a bassist I would spend my life trying to play this song. What skill! This is awesome!

  • Its not hard at all Geddy him self said that when he made this album that everyone thought there would be an ass load of bass but its quite the opposite

  • It's an impressive intro, though.

  • i'd be happy if it was an ass load of bass, but i'm just as happy with this.

  • I've always thought it would have been cool if Rush had decided to play this live...it'd be sick live!

  • that would be sick!!!

  • It's awesome, sorta like Rush mixed with a bit of Primus. Just really cool.

  • one of my alltime fave albums

  • one of my alltime favorites as well...sooo underrated and not talked about

  • this timeless song way back machine always has timeley now Gustav and Ike folding chairs and sugar cane fields and oil producers. Forgive me for tying it all in. Yep, Hyding.

  • love rush they r my favorite band and geddy and alex have amazing solo albums. geddy lee was the reason i started playing bass

  • A must have for any RUSH fan. Ged is amazing!

  • I love this album, It came at a time when Rush wasnt doing anything due to Neals loss of his wife and daughter in the same year and It filled the need for many Rush fans to hear what closley resembled new Rush Music. It would be great if Rush played some of this great music. Long Live Rush !!!!!!

  • 5 years gone and 10 years after, ehrm, in Zion

  • the bass intro in the beginning just screams "This track is going to kick ass!"

  • great song

  • fucken great lp, love rush & all his musicians ;] geddy lee parents are from my country! poland has got death metal kings but we also has got geddy ;] Geddy Lee - bass, guitar, keyboards, vocals

    Ben Mink - guitar

    Matt Cameron - drums

Jeremy Taggart - drums on "Home on the Strange"

  • who is on guitar and drums

  • huge comments: ged an oneliner: stfu play bass

  • This is great! i'm a huge rush fan, but i've never got around to buying geddy's solo album, i guess i'll have to now! thanks for putting this up!

by the way, sirdewdalot is a complete douche.

  • Its too bad that Geddy didnt do any videos with his solo album. that would have been awesome.

  • learn to spell kids

  • What the fuck is with this spamming idiot "SirDewalot". Lessee:

"ROck in general is such garbage....junk, like jazz

It's almost as bad as rap"

What the fuck man, you just dissed 3 of the biggest genres. What the hell do you even listen to? Obviously not rock or rap, and I'm going to rule out metal and hip hop because they are basically the same things.

You're obviously a huge fan of teen popstars, and coincidentally a 43 year old pedophile who lives with his mother. Go fuck yourself, idiot.

  • Thanks =) I was hoping I didn't have to talk sense into him alone...lol...I'm sorry I got into it with him, because I don't like to cause a ruckus, normally. Obviously, I wasn't going to get through to him, so I'm only gonna offer him one last reason why I like Rush and the genre...because it's good music...simple as that ^_^...again, I apologize for going at it over the last 24 hours, and I'm going to try to stay back for a bit =)

  • ok, fine, I'm sick and tired of being nice...YOU ARE A FUCKING MORON!...I said that I really didn't enjoy rap, either, but obviously YOU ARE SO THICK that YOU CAN'T SEE PAST YOUR OWN OVERSIZED HEAD! You need to get a flipping grip on reality! And, where in hell does "Kill the messenger" come in? What did I say that sparked that? Huh? You're one of those that are so dim that they can't see anything other than what their thick heads wanna hear...I'm tired of trying to be a mediator in all this...

  • haha...if only you knew how much I hated rap, myself...=)...and, you seem to only have one reply: "Church of Geddy Lee"...believe me, there are other artists I listen to...I don't worship the ground he walks on...tbh, you're the one showing your insanity in this case...I'm just asking why you'd come in, and spout off about why a song or album is so bad? I just move on, find something else to listen to, and try to keep my posts positive...and, I'm sure you couldn't put out anything better =/

  • yep...what confuses me is why you'd even come to a song/genre you don't enjoy...I don't go to a Contemporary Christian/Gospel song and say "oh, this is such crap"...I just find a different song that I enjoy...I have better things to do than complain about music that I don't like =)

  • lol...ya know, buddy, you're sad...you obviously should look at my profile, then...I don't actually have that many Rush vids on my page! And, I have a pretty damn eclectic taste in music! (Classical, pop, country, techno, so it ain't just one group/person that I enjoy!)

Come on, people, back me up here! I'm trying to show that I am the sane one in this conversation, but I'm not getting any help =)

  • tbh, I'm just saying that there's no reason to be loosing a tirade at something you don't enjoy...I had never heard this song until this afternoon, and, it's not bad (not up with Subdivisions/Limelight/all the mainstays), but it's one that not too many people would know of, if the Rushophiles on YouTube weren't vigilant...and, on an unrelated note...what in Hades does your rebuttal mean? It makes almost no sense...

  • oh, and if anyone else wants to help me out here, go to it...I could use the assistance ^_^

  • then, really, why come to this song?

  • the birth of tralxwdy is to not one set selves onfire but to re-extingguissh the trails be flawed of flame and speelbpound ;} nihilisism

  • NO CONTESTA FLEA IS AN OLLD SCHOOL PRE-PURR KILLING KEEPPON HIDINFDNGM NIHIILISTICUM, BRB MT lawter adviviised to me to mussels to keep in wrtapping in bacon]

  • lasdtsshuduip frfom squaKYJEELY SUNRISE LO

  • Great work Geddy. My Favorite Headache is a keeper. I bought Victor day it was released and just couldn't get into it. I'm sure its still around in a box somewhere.

  • Victor has a few good ones: Don't Care, Promise and Strip and Go Naked. The rest...eh...so-so

  • Wow, that sounds pretty good. It's cool when you hear different artists join together. Matt Cameron and Geddy Lee make it sound like a Rush/Soundgarden. I think that's really cool (:

  • The drummer is the guy from Soundgarden I think.

  • flea is awesome , geddy brings out the folding chairs in all of us

  • Hay all Geddy Lee fans Check out lee vs flea and vote dont let geddy lose to gay flea

  • every single video! lol

  • Great album.Geddy obviously has no lack of great drummers to jam with.Seeing Rush in Milwaukee tomorrow nite. Now wipe that chicken off your face....

  • I love the solo stuff that Ged did, I think it's a real shining moment for him. Also, Alex did okay, I couldn't get into it as much as I did with Ged's. I <3 U Ged!!!

  • Geddy's solo stuff was great. Matt Cameron (from soundgarden) played drums on most (if not all) of the tracks. Im a huge Rush fan so it took a while to get used to the idea of geddy singing and playing w/ other musicians, but now I love it. If you like Rush as all, check it out.

  • "The bass on this song jams. The other songs off this album are good as well!"

  • I can't find any other songs of this album on youtube.........

  • PM me ;)

  • I found one other. somebody used "Rumaway Train" for a slideshow. It's called something like "A Day in the Life.." just enter the title and geddy lee in the search and it should be one of the first three listings.

  • kinda wish when Rush tours they play a track from Geddy's album and 1 from alex solo album , neil plays solo for 8+ minutes the other 2 could get solo songs in!

  • Yeah, no kidding. Neil, we love your drumming, but we'd love to hear some unique stuff too. Perhaps Geddy Lee's solo material or Alex Lifeson's? That'd be nice :)

  • I've haven't heard anything off Geddy's solo album until now, But it is obvious that this is Rush quality. It's truely amazing! No suprise about the great bass line!

  • I'll have some new enemies when I post this, but I'm gonna say it anyway: The Drummer who's playing here has actually much more Groove than Neil IMO. Who is it? The Soundgarden Guy? Nice work.

  • It could be B/C you enjoy this style more then rushes style.... Though they aren't very different..... I think Neil is a heck of a better drummer than him. Though, to a non-musical person Neils stuff could be complicated...

  • Actually, i like rush better than geddy's solo stuff(the truth: i like them better than anything else). I just said that this drummer has more groove, which has absolutely NOTHING to do with the complexity of someone's style. If you don't understand that, then you should think next time before you call somebody non-musical.Yeah, i love neil for his individual style, but he has never been a groove master (such as steve gadd or gavin harrison), as his detailed timing is not good enough

  • Never called you un-musical, it was simply a thought..... I was merely trying to strike a discussion, not an argument.

  • My reaction comes off more angry than it actually was supposed to. It's okay, i get your point.

  • p.s. Yes, I DID notice that funny non-kosher-sounding drumfill at 4:08. Not too bad. Stuff like that happens to neil too, they just don't leave it on the recordnormally.

  • sounds a bit like primus at the begining

  • geddy lee is les claypools biggest influence, that would probably be why! lol

  • Holy shit, i didnt know geddy had a solo album. wow thats awesome.

  • I don't know what other Rush fans thought about Geddy's album, but I thought it was quite good. Nice job by Matt Cameron on the drums. Not Neil, but good work!

  • Yeah, not Neil, but great anyway. I wish Geddy'd make another.

  • ya his band for this is matt cameron on drums for eveything except home on the strange which is jeremy taggart then ben mink on guitar and some other string stuff i think he does violin at some point i know he has before for some rush stuff.

i love the bass in this song especially the intro

  • who is drumming here? not neil?

  • Matt Cameron on all tracks except for "Home on the Strange" which is played by Jeremy Taggart.

  • wouldn't that be great if Neil Peart had a solo album, I could listen to one of his drum solos for 45 minutes.

  • yeah! :D

  • I think his solo thing was the Buddy Rich Memorial Tribute stuff. For some odd reason, I think he'd have a tougher time doing a solo album than the other two. His style is so unique and inaccessible that only the most talented musicians can play along to it without being a little confused.

  • I see what you are getting at, but his sound could actually draw the non-musical people in. I love his music, but I am pretty musical so.......

  • Kick ass sound and song from Geddy!! This blew away Alex's solo effort. I believe the drummer from soundgarden played on this track and most, if not all, of the album. Nice work!

  • Alex Lifeson's album, Victor, was half of My Favourite Headache. There were some good songs on the album, but it lacked in musical showmanship that we know Alex has tremendous amounts of. Perhaps this was more of an experiment rather than a serious solo effort. Alex himself stated that it was an experiment.

  • Yeah I actually bought Alex's Victor album and I was really disappointed with it. I wasn't in the mood for his "experiment"! haha On the other hand I was really impressed with Geddy's solo effort and I remember the radio stations were wearing out this song and the Moving to Bohemia single when it came out. Great song!

  • Funny where a reply can end up here...I love MFH and Victor...I guess my system must expose more guitar in a recording or something eh? WTF? I hear plenty of great guitar excellence on Victor..sure It's dark lyrically but the playing is gut wrenching.

  • Nah...Victor is an amazing piece of work, every bit as worty of praise as MFH!!!

  • unfolded chair, hipboots, cat tails, flippancy, trainwreck, passover. TURN THE PAGE '08.

  • ePhilosopher put down the bong!! LOL

  • It sounds like primus a little bit.

  • With out the "lameness." or the "sucking."

  • He actually makes his bass sound like an electric guitar in this.

  • Geddy actually plays electric guitar on this - SG Junior, to be precise. Plus he had help from Ben Mink.

  • Is that right? Where did you learn that?

  • I saw him in person! Well, on a stage...from about +150 feet away :D

  • hey me too :D

  • Me Too :0

  • *pfft* Lucky! I saw him on a stage once, but I was in the very back row of an enormous outdoor auditorium. Just knowing that I had been in his audience, though...

  • This is a great song. Love the production and how it's beautifully melodic and hard hitting all at the same time. Geddy rules.

  • grammmy loving it pause, content, abacus, unelmbalmed, whoof what's that sniff

  • I love Geddy but these lyrics...yikes!

    Matt Cameron is AWESOME

  • I LOVE Geddy's solo album!

  • sounds pretty close to newer rush like test for echo and vapour trails and some Snakes and Arrows. its really good but you tell that the lyrics are completlely different from rush becuase neil is not writing them, these lyrics are alot less complicated.

  • geddy lee is awesome

  • oh my god, ive heard of this solo album but this is the first time ive actually heard anything off it.i like this, man. it does sound alot like rush in recent years.geddy is one of the greatest bassists ever!!!@

  • Amazing bass at the beginning.

  • The chorus of the song reminds of the the track "Test for Echo", although the manin riff clearly sounds like Primus.

  • Re-healisticism Rocks

  • so vhat's a vhroom?

  • watch?v=Ck8bM97Hh3I&NR=1

  • I hope Geddy gets together with these guys again and releases another solo album. I hate to say it, but this album is more emotionally moving than most Rush.

  • reminds me of snakes and arrows

  • Well, it has been said that Primus are Rush prodigy!

  • Big Primus Intro.

  • Now that you said that, it sounds like the work of Les Calypool. Maybe Les was present during his studio recording and told him to emphasize on the presence of the bass on the intro. It would have been something like this: Slap it, Geddy! Slap it!

  • lol no wonder it sounds like Les Claypool. he was inspired by Geddy Lee!!

  • reminds me a lot of some of the tracks on Snakes and Arrows.

  • sounds like RUSH the style is RUSH...hmmmm...must be RUSH!!!!!!!!!!I wish I had the cd!!!

  • Someone put up "Runaway Train." That could have been a huge hit for Rush.

  • Thanks for the posting. MFH is so under-rated it's not even funny. Fantastic album.

  • my favorite song on the album!

    have it too :)

  • Bass = badass

    I've been looking for this song...I saw the whole album but I totally missed the chance to buy it ;_;

  • justice between the hemaglobins and hobglobins, nietsche. fold those chairs, watcher.

  • God, that bassline is AWESOME! What I've heard of Ged's solo album is phenomenal. This song's catchy, I love it.

  • I Oddly Love Hemispheres. I Love The Song La Villa Strangiato.

  • I have to agree.

  • Great song. When I was first getting into Rush a man who works with my Dad lent me all the albums and this one. Straight away I fell in love with this one and Test For Echo. The Angels' Share is the greatest song Rush never wrote!

  • I agree. I love Test For Echo despite it being the lowest rated Rush album.

  • Yep, the only Rush album I really don't like is Presto. Although Superconductor and Show Don't Tell are good songs I just don't like the rest of it.

  • tears of joy and mocking laughter, words lost in the wind

  • really respect this man and the band for so much great music and great vids for so long trulley a great band

  • Well, what a coincidence! Happy 54th Birthday, Geddy!

  • This is the most emotionally moving album I've heard. Something about Rush and this album seems to resonate with me.

  • and old Sol

  • finally, i found it! for quite a while there was only that bicyclist's inspirational runaway train video. this is such a GREAT song/album. Geddy is awesome, isn't he? Cat tails and folding chairs forever! I watch youtube, what do you want from me?
