Talk about setting the pace - 13 minutes of non-stop "Great finds Action", you could have "padded" this out to half an hour or so LOL. Research pays off big time and suddenly you're knee-deep in shillings. Nice how you left that water main intact too. Well done mate, go back soon and HH.
@NQExplorers Thanks NQ - but leaving the water main intact is only a temporary thing. That Tap is coming home...one day. LOL. I have kept all the "padding" - for use in a compilation of padding - it will only be available on DVD...in a Box Set...goes for hours. LOL Cheers and looking forward to seeing your next video's GL & HH
totally cool mate, any day you can pull 5 pieces of silver out of the ground, thats a stunning day! Congratulations on your finds. Do nice myself today with a 51 Roosevelt dime and a 44 wheat back penny. Would love to go to Aussie land some day and dig with you guys down under.
@archeodigger Thanks mate - always welcome to "come on down under" Congrats on your finds - well done. I lived in California in the 80's [..kind of a working holiday..] Had the best time. Fossicked for Amethyst on Hallelujah Mountain - amazing time. Cheers GL & HH
@AmericanCoinHunting Thanks mate - that was a good day for me...a great day..and it was a long time coming. BUt..wait there's more....can it get any better? Well...in a word Yes. Check out "Silver Surprise" - uploading now. Cheers GL & HH
Congratulations on a great days hunting. Talking to the oldies certainly pays dividends in more ways than one. We all enjoy our hunting but listening to the enjoyment in your voice gets me itching to go out straight away.
As for the tap, I'd be pretty sure the pipes a deadleg these days so - out comes the tube cutters and if you get wet - run!
@robsue Thanks Rob - OK...I'm going for it....tube cutters, hacksaw, grinder...the works...the Tap is coming home. Of course I'll be taking care to return the spot to an "as before" status. I've been thinking about it being there..driving me nuts. The deadleg is going to be coming home soon..another video for sure. Cheers GL & HH
@JwakNZ thnaks mate - I love the balance between good days..and those other days which are a little quiet when it comes to finding interesting stuff. Cheers mate GL & HH
@Biofilmz Thanks mate...working on another one now...something big happened yesterday..can't wait to upload to video after some careful ediitng. Cheers mate GL & HH
@jrw194529 Thanks mate...yes...but wait,,,there's more. Had a fascinating hunt yesterday. The video is in the production phase..almost ready. Cheers GL & HH
@JAD5822 Yes mate - I agree - I have had a quite time the last few months...finding sand at the beach has been my most consistent result over winter. But...things have changed for the better this last week or two. Cheers mate GL & HH
@PAT71463RICK Thanks mate - yes and it was hard holding back on the "Detecto-Babble" as NQExplorers calls it. Well - the next video...has me Detecto-Babbling" in overdrive. However - it is justified IMO. Cheers GL & HH
Wow! You hit 'the zone' all right!!! Nice 'flock' of rams mate and the other silver was the icing on the cake! Yes, research is the way to the old, good stuff! Too many times we detectorists just go out and start doing our stuff in a random, non-logical way. When you take the time to stop and talk to the seniors, you can get the 'inside info.' Yah, thought you were going to start singing under the coolibah tree, or whatever it was?? lol can't wait for your surprise......lol GL and HH!!!
@MrTerritorian1 Thanks mate - appreciate the comments as always. Would you believe - today - in the course of doing my work...I got talking to my client...about my hobby. Guess who - lived nearby to where I was detecting...in the 40's and 50's...told me about other great spots nearby. Unbelievable local info. Tomorrow..I'm going to head in the direction he suggested...to an "as exciting" spot. Can't wait. Cheers mate..."under the Coolibah tree" now there's an idea. LOL GL & HH
Mega hunt with some cracking finds. Congratulations on locating all the silver coins, not forgetting the pennies, half-pennies too, oh, and the ring. Your super video gave us a taste of your excitement and thrills of your day's hunting. Seems that walking back to the car, detecting on the way, as you do, is turning lucky for you. Enjoyed watching so much, so, thanks and Good hunting on your next choice of location :D
Excellent hunt! Was that some type flood plain?Maybe the fellas sitting on the bank with the fishing gear lost all their silver in reckless abandon?Maybe they lost their pants?LOL!Silver may be washed all over that place!Memorable day for you!Congrats!HH!
looks like digging pop tops payed off again i always dig them just in case you never know :) super silver rams heads congrats :)Looks like you have found yourself a real nice honey hole there :) so Happy for you !Great hunting :) and great video ! AWESOME :)nice three pence and pretty little ring too :)A great day indeed :)
@GemQ1 Thanks mate - and boy am I looking forward to getting back to "that" office and spend a whole day working behind the .....detector! LOL. Cheers GL & HH
Awesome video ! Congrats on all the silver coins, ring , penny and all your finds ! Good luck on your next hunt ! The places you guys hunt in Australia must be virgin sites because you find so many silver coins. I mean if you were in a city park okay more people but some of the places are way out in the country side and you still find lot of coins including many silver. That it i am moving to Australia.
@Yulelah Thanks for the nice words mate - and I agree - and I'm surprised at where some of these coins are found. Two things other than any detecting skills and luck, helped me on this hunt 1) Research and 2) Research combined with local knowledge and bits of information gained from talking to the locals. I ended up in this spot - because I stopped detecting and talked with some "senior" citizens at another spot. They shared memories going back 70 years - told me where "X" marks the spot. GL&HH
What a great video Ian! Love those silvers!!!! When you showed that big tree I thought I hope he's not going to sing again. And you didn't so thank you for that!! Get back to that spot asap and find more great stuff!!! A++++++ E.D
@EchucaDigger Thanks mate - and for that comment about my tree singing talent...I'm going to put together something special...just for you. LOL Cheers GL & HH.
@rugerguyau Thanks mate - and for me ..it's been a long time since I got in that zone...I think it has been something like a year since I found a Shilling. Detecting Euphoria to find 3 in a day. Cheers mate GL & HH
I did tkhe same type of thing that you did with the tap. Only it was raining and the target turned out to be a buried sprinklser head. At least you did not get soaked like me. I hope that you have many more days with the great number of silver finds as this day. You deserve many such days. GL and HH
@farenheit1100 Thanks Hugh - I can tell you - that I have put a lot of thought into that Tap - how to go about retrieving it safely...I have a plan. Might take some time - need to visit the hardware store first. LOL Cheers GL & HH.
Ian - what a fantastic video, beautifully composed and very entertaining - congratulations on all your finds no doubt you will be back because I reckon you have only scratched the surface (no pun intended!). Great lesson on rechecking holes, I must admit is is counter intuitive when a junk target comes out first! As they say some days are diamonds or in your case silver! Rams heads are my favourites!
@1963Willo Hi mate - yes - I've been back. 2 Silvers [6p and 3p] and an old Montblanc Noblesse Pen. What's a bit of a challenge - is the local residents - beautified the location about 10 years back..planted garden beds all over the best hunting areas - about 50 percent of the site. I'll do the rest. Cheers GL & HH
