  • awesome song!! me and my friends are dancing to this song for the black history program!!! well be the five supremes! haha

  • Bieber, STOP! in the name of music!

  • beyonce who??

  • On this date in 1965 {Feb. 20th} "Stop! In The Name of Love" entered Billboard's Hot Top 100; on March 27th it reached #1 {for 2 weeks} and spent 12 weeks in the Top 100

    Ranked 20th on Billboard's Year-End Hot 100 Singles of 1965 chart...

Covered by Margie Joseph in 1971; her version peak at #96

Was 4th in a string of 5 straight records by the Supremes to reach #1; "Where Did Our Love Go", "Baby Love", "Come See About Me", this one, and finally "Back In My Arms Again".

  • That one in the middle looks like Michael Jackson!!

  • GREAT SONG I AM SINGING THIS FOR BLACK HISTORY PROGRAM

  • wow. just so fantastic.

  • Dat hair

  • Stop ACTA <3

  • You can always hear Flo's voice over Diane's and Mary's...she was wonderful...they all were and are still...the two remaining that is and all the rest of the Supremes! Wonderful ladies with elegance and class!

  • the first time I saw the one in the middle she scared the shit out of me XD

  • Let's get 2 things straight! Florence was the best singer and Mary was the best dancer! Ok I'm done!

  • The Supremes rule !!!

  • PURE CLASS

  • hahaha. .. . i luv it!! :)

  • Classic, Flo & Mary's voices gave much better harmonies and background, than Mary & Cindy...I Luv u Blondie R.I.P.

  • diana ross looks like a drag queen hereth

  • @PAMAROSHOUSE LoL...if a drag queen would read your comment , they would say that a drag queen looks like Diana Ross. From what I understand The Supremes were the blueprint of what a drag queen should look like.

  • Stop in the name of love.. that is really clever.

  • I find it interesting that the Supremes are compared to the Ronnettes!

Two Different styles of "singing". Both worthy of "Five Stars".

I love Spectors "wall of sound". It gave the Ronnettes, & other groups,

    a "full" & "richer" sound.

  • @47yesican Yeah, I wonder why THE SUPREMES are compared with The Ronettes as well. The Ronettes were a "one hit/one album" wonder while THE SUPREMES ruled the top of the record charts for most of the decades of the 1960's..........there is NO comparison other than they were female and there were three of them!

  • 1:25 bagosh :D

  • Arguably the best girl group America ever produced (Ronettes anyone?).

Crying shame they didn't STOP! In The Name of Pop...before breaking up.

  • i still dont see where flo can be called fat. she looks slim to me.

  • @TheCounslor That is because she WAS slim at that time this is 1965. she didnt get fat until late 1966 early 67 the yr she was fired folks need to Research the history so they will KNOW. they were All "skinny little girls" when they met Berry in 1959 he signed them in 1960. she began drinking Heavy in 1966 and it dosent take Long for weight to Pack on. she was depressed because she felt she needed to be the LEAD, Berry didnt feel her voice would cross over. so he chose diana. he was Right.

  • @TheCounslor Because Flo wasn't fat. Of course she seemed to be next to Diana. But seriously guys , it's true that next to Diana most of women seem large. Who wouldn't be next to a pile of bones? Acutally it's true that during her depression Florence took pounds and could be define as a woman with curves. But I really don't think that ''big'' is the right word for define Florence's metabolism.

  • @ThePaulinexL TRUE

  • Classic

  • You can reallyhear Flo on that chorus..she overpowers Diana in the beginning. Over-all good performance =)

  • Classic. Pure. Love it.

  • the leadsinger has the most beautiful eyes i´ve ever seen

  • idk if its just me...but flo looks like beyonce from the side :) so pretty...of course i've always loved the supremes glamorous galz :)

  • @sophii88 lol....funny thing is....I think Rihanna resembles Flo. ha ha ha

  • @grifitti i do too. lol

  • Wonderful song!!! Wonderful hair design!!!

  • I like how pretty Diana Ross's voice was back then. She had a very subtle, yet enchanting voice.

  • When female singer didn't need to take their clothes off!! (read about gaga)

  • @ponnef AMEN!!! These sure were CLASSY LADIES onstage unlike some many of today's female performers that look and behave as $2.00 hookers onstage...yuck! THE SUPREMES RULE BABY!!!

  • @ponnef True maybe because these are real singers, even a cappela this still would sound great...

Lady gag aint singing its a movieclip with noise.

  • How the frig is the quality good? Its the friggen 60's!!!

  • They're singing live, to the original recording's instrumental backing (which they couldn't duplicate on "THE HOLLYWOOD PALACE").

  • those are some good looking black chicks..

  • Kalenakani -- that voice at the 2:00 mark is Mary, not Florence.

  • Oldies but goodies!

  • our national Treasure, best Group FOREVER,Supremes are forever

  • Most Sincerely, Thank you. What a treasure to be able to see this, in this quality. Makes a person feel like they are there.

  • @Wh1te1nk i noe it sure dew..thot i waz da only one feeling this way..lolll!!

  • Most Sincerely, Thank you. What a treasure to be able to see this, in this quality. Makes a person feel like they are there.

  • Great sound quality and what a great performance. At the very beginning, at about 2:00 and again at the end, when the three sing the chorus together, you can hear that Flo's voice was richer and stronger than Diana's, just like legend tells us. You can also see that Flo was 'heavy' compared to the others, which gives creedence to the stories of the pressure she was under. But truly Diana was a star and she was meant to shine. Great video!

  • da real diva,u go Diana
