The best song around and needs to stay alive on here so please contunie to pass this along..Hey Paul is top notch..I went to see him in Dallas Tx when he came..This guy and his band rock they brought the house down..Hey I was 58 then and I was screaming and yelling and had a blast..peace be safe..Larry
Wow, this is the sort of thing which he doesn't release widely? If anything is only half-decent or slightly above (like Hey Diddle and Down To The River) they become rare bonus tracks
What a great, but under-appreciated, song from a great, but under-appreciated, album. "Flaming Pie" and "Chaos and Creation in the Backyard" can take their places alongside some of the best Beatles albums. I say that as a huge Beatles fan, but the fact is, Paul has done some excellent work on his own. It's a shame that so few people are even aware of it.
You did great with the video, sort of adds to the nostalgia of what the song is about, nice work! I have always loved this song. I seen Paul on Jimmy and I remembered this song and googled it. For sure, we need to keep this song alive...
AHHH the flaming pie album! glorious. its paul feeding off the energy left after the anthology sessions. amazing what Paul can do surrounded by the right people. Flaming... the last great album.
@WiltatKansas agree... Paul solo never came close to the artistic alchemy the Beatles managed in 7 short years.... Paul solo went bland pop star ... he really needed to be challenged by John to achieve his past genius.
@JerichoDitch2 True, but John's solo career was patchy as well and he too needed challenging from Paul. A true case of "united we stand, divided we fall". Love 'em both.
This outside of any Beatle work is easily the best Paul McCartney. Flaming Pie is just an amazing album from start to finish. I've owned 3 cassettes of the album, all played till ruined.
The single you are holding up to the camera is "Wonderful Christmastime" on Columbia records -- once I saw the label, I wondered if what was spinning was the song "Souvenir" -- do you have the video of the 1997 single? I didn't know there were vinyl singles issued from 'Flaming Pie'
"Everybody's got a handful of fear...but tomorrow it may only be a Souvenoir...of the way it was...till it went away..."
Profound, Powerful Truths flowing through Paul's Heart in Sweet Melody...This is the World We, as Divine Beings chose & are Actively Creating this very Moment...
Angels have always prefaced Divine Messaging with..."FEAR NOT!"
L.A.A.F.
Pat Timmermans..."Endless Possibilities!"
"Let Me Love You like a Friend...every little thing is gonna come right in the end."

This song is in my opinion the very best from "Flaming Pie". Paul said he could see some soul singer doing a version. Great tune!

That's not "Wonderful Christmastime"!!!! This was Paul attempting an R&B song. Not bad at all.

There's absolutely nothing bland about Paul McCartneys's solo career, it is filled with fantastic songs!
Many people are so hypnotized by the Beatles that they don't give McCartneys solo career the credit it truly deserves!
His solo career contains many songs that are just as good and even better than some Beatle songs!

@thumbsaloft it wasn't a solo career, he went back to the 5th Beatle George Martin, so he didn't have a true solo career at all.

Love the flanging of the faux run-out at the end of this song. Very cool!

For all the naysayers that say that Paul couldn't write lyrics.. this is an example of some great lyrics!
