The movies suck! Sherlock Holmes was a gentleman, very smart, addicted to drugs, and a enormously good solver of crimes. Indeed he did box in college, but he BARELY uses it in the story! This stupid movie fucks over the real Sherlock Holmes character! It's a disgrace to people who know the original books! Everyone get's the wrong impression from Sherlock Holmes!

Of course it does. It's called visualization. All you need to do is know your opponent's mindset, and you can predict every move and counterattack in accordance to your own. It's just a skill that takes a very long time to learn, but yes, it's possible. Maybe a bit exaggerated here.
