This Airport Terminal doesn't even resemble "Airport" at all, it looks a lot like a World Class Shopping Centre, not that I have a problem with it, but a lot of airports throughout the world look like airports (many of them are in America).

I'm flying soon with emirates from london gatwick to bangkok with transit in dubai.. I've alway flown a direct flights and im a bit scared of this stop over in dubai .. On the way back i only have 1hr 15min of onnection time between flights, I wonder if its enough to get from one plane to another. ? Do i have to go through the check in and security again , if so is there any special way for transit passangers ? would appreciate any help ! thanks :)

@hudziszeq If both your flights are with Emirates I doubt if they would let you connect if there was not enough time. You shouldn't have to go through check in again, last time I went through Dubai it took all of 3 minutes to pass through security but I am sure it can also be very busy.

@albaonthego thanks for ur reply :-) hopefully i wont hit the rush hour and it will go as smooth as ur transit ;) yes , both of them flights are with emirates and this is what i thought, while booking , they wouldnt offer me a connection thats impossible to get it done ;)

@hudziszeq Don't worry, it wouldn't be a problem if both of your flights with Emirates. In May this year, I traveled from Heathrow,London to Ahmedabad, India, via Dubai. I too had only 1 hour 15 minutes stopover time. My flight reached Dubai airport late, with only 20 or so minutes to the next flight. When I got off my first plane, there was already an airport staff waiting for us passengers travelling to Ahmedabad. They rushed us to the next gate, and quickly went through the security.

@hudziszeq I recently flew with Emirates on Business class from Muscat to Cochin (via Dubai). While going i had 10hr transit in Dubai, Emirates gave me a Hotel room and free food. And while coming back my flight was at 8.30am, Landed in Dubai at 7:10am quickly went through Security and I got my flight. Boarding passes will be provided at the origin. At Dubai there is a section for transit passengers after walking from the gates, u can even collect your boarding passes if u don't get from origin

The malls near the gates are good for last minute shopping, as very few people have the time and leisure to walk to a shopping area and buy stuff. It works well for me every time I travel through T3 :-)

You have a point though, it can be a bit chaotic at times.

Pleasurable and relaxing? Seems T3 is anything but. From all reports, dirty toilets, long long queues for immigration and security and insufficient seating makes transitting at T3 a harrowing experience. Dubai International needs to spruce up the software side of things before it can offer meaningful competition to the likes of Hong Kong International and Singapore's Changi.

@nicktk Actually I never used Dubai T3 (only T1 a long time ago). I just learned about its notoriety from Skytrax's airport reviews, which seem to unanimously point to the severe inadequacy of the facilities there.

Was at Dubai Airport yesterday for 9 hours in long transit from Perth. the duty free is fantastic, and i spent a wee bit more than maybe i should have.Love the experience of this very special airport

well Abudhabi the capital of the uae has 200 years of oil reserves. And now with the nuclear energy project, more oil will be saved as future reserves.Don't worry, when your black day comes and there is no more oil in the uae you will be a fossil.
