@Tulsaman50, Obviously, as the population of the city drops by the thousands every year, the crime rate will show a drop also. Look at the crime rates of surrounding towns and counties. Since they imploded the projects in B'more, crime in the counties has risen. Baltimore is a great and terrible place. GOD help us, cause the politicians and Obama's change aint doin shit. They read about the crime while i breath about the crime. FUCKED UP

I'm from New Orleans and its pretty much the same problems here also. Most people in the ghetto are hard workers whose paychecks don't go very far. Its a small collective of people tht are raising hell in the neighborhoods.

All this violence is basically due to one thing, the criminalization of drugs. Whenever you make something illegal that people want, violence is the end result. We need to stop putting non-violent offenders in prison, we need to end the War on Drugs now. Only then will communities like Baltimore see a change in their murder and crime rates.

because you were born there and the infastructure was created to keep you there. i live not far from bmore- there are no jobs and the schools are underfunded and lacking in after school programs. it speaks volumes about our government that there could be such desparity so close to the nations capitol.

I left with nothing and found a simple life where i can make it out here in the west. don't think you're caught there, you're not. get out. i had nothing for weeks, but then i got a job, an apt., and now i live in a decent place. get out before bmore and any other city like it - kills you. it's your life - control it - or be controlled by them.
