I like that, will have to give it a try. The only thing I dont like about the song (real version not yours) is the riff at the very start should go on longer. It is just too good!
Just got around to watching this one. I like the acoustic sound on this one a lot better than the full cover, it just sounds like it's meant to be there. Especially on the chorus.
Dude, there's no way you're playing the guitars parts I'm hearing. I'm watching your fingers do melody and pick the strings, yet I'm hearing background chord work and strumming.
Let's put it into context: he was huge on doing what sounded best for the band, more into Spector than Steve Vai. Compare his chord structures and riffs to Peter Buck's, probably his closest contemporary, and your bro has his answer. Oh and ask him to play the chorus to Charming man (single version) or William, or Back to the old house: he can just pick it straight up if it's so simple.
the greatest riff that could ever be written, and only johnny marr could of ever done it! johnny marr a genius, how does he do it, it really angers me, err
jesus man, am i the most inept that ever stepped? you are putting me off playing, i thought i was getting somewhere, but no, this is getting somewhere!
request please, can you do a full version of this, my second favourite smiths song, lyrically my favourite - maybe we've just not earned a longer version!
god damnit, half of my comments never register! ive been trying to tell you how amazing you are with everything you do. its criminal that you aren't making musical history, or at least none that we know of as of yet. keep it up, mr. earwicker. you're superb at what you do. you still need to do heaven knows im miserable now, though!
Fucking amazing. Really. The Marr-meister notoriously overlayed different guitar riffs to form the rich tapestry that was a Smith's song. I can't believe you can unravel the mystery so quickly. Good work fella !
ps If you're taking requests could you try 'miserable lie' Cheers.
I wanted see how quickly I could go from deciding to learn something to having the video online, so yes, it's pretty rough. Recorded with the laptop's built-in mic! But I really like the riff so I'll probably do a "real" version soon.

OK. Sorry I didn't read your comments above on how you played it. A separate guitar on the rhythm track - I got it now.

There's more than one part going on here, right?
Either that or you're Johnny Marr.

How my brother can call Johnny Marr's guitarwork 'simple' I'll never understand
