you think thats good one of them lived for 401 days? im surprised it lived that long in that tiny tank. they need atleast 800 litre tanks with lots of live rock and sponges etc to feed on , if you havnt got atleast that size tank dont buy one

Keeping Moorish Idol and other butterfly fish is not so difficult if you could let them have a peaceful environment. The size of the tank is not so important. Of course, a larger tank is much better and easier. It will be difficult to make the Moorish Idol to eat in the tank if you are the beginners.

So it is not recommended to the beginners to keep Moorish Idol and Golden Angel in the tank.

he most likely lives near these fish, they are a very hardy fish in the wild but the problem is they do not ship well so once they have been shipped to the LFS they are usually real sick and dont survive so if you happen to live 30 mins away from the ocean where these fish live the sucess rate is very high the less distance they have to travel

I live in HongKong. All the Moorish Idols in Hong Kong mainly come from Philippine, Indonesia, or even Maldives.

Keeping Moorish Idol is not difficult if you could provide a quiet tank for them to start eating.

uao!!! this fish is famous becouse is very dificult maintence it in captivity. Their captive survival rate is very low most do not survive for a full year. how do you do it?
