Cheers to you for lugging that sluice box all the way to that bend. Was out there yesterday just looking and have liked that bend since I saw it on Google Earth. Wasn't sure if it was still in the ASRA or if it became private claims up there. Lots of really nice bedrock cracks along the way.

Like me I drove all over looking for gold. the mineral bar is a great place, but I see in your video that you need to go up stream about a block on the other side of the river is much much better gold! that little bar your on is not a good producer. try bear river campground has good gold too

Nice video scorpiotoyou. That huge boulder behind you i remember when i used to pan at iowa hill in 1984. Then the cement bridge was not there we drove across the rickety metal bridge. @godskayakman i really love this spot i just hope that people that use it try and be careing about there prospecting.. two years ago i went down and got skunked but along the way along the river , people just tore it up with out any concern to rules and regs. i wish i had the chance to cross that bridge too, but i got the chance to cross yankee jim,s and its too cool.. like i hope, that all miners do is take all the junk from the water lead and merc most..take care and golden luck

Nice gold finds there. Man you ever think about getting a detector to find some nuggets. You might be missing out on some great finds. I would love to sluice and pan for gold someday.

yah i did at one point but the ground in my area is over welmed with iron hot rocks so much that you cat get a real reading, you could be hitting on a gold spec and not know it.. as for prospecting anytime is a good time, hope you find something when you do..

Curious to why your sluice only has the metal screen in the first two riffles?  What's the benefit?

thanks - you bet it was, had my hands in, to sweep out a crack and they turned numm! the reason why is becouse a sluice is designed to catch most gold in the first two ripples, and gold dont travel much in a sluice. when its set up right. remember gold is heavy- and if the water flow is right you dont flush gold out your box.

thats not fare man, the day,s temp only reached 60+ and in the shad it was still freezing!..lol but i had a good time, good lucky and show us a video of your trip!
