  • i was inlove with him as a child:)

  • @lolitabrunette

    Me too.

  • @ninouschka1607

    good to know:)

  • He is always my Superman.

  • Would love to see a hi-def version of this :)

  • Christopher Reeve didn't just play a hero, he WAS a hero. He suffered from health problems for a long time before, during and after the films. Even after his accident he kept on going. The man was and always will be a hero. I think that there will never be another like him. R.I.P.

  • i miss him

  • I do agree Reeve is the best Superman, but Brandon Routh in Superman Returns did a good job playing Superman, despite how bad the film was, and Tom Welling in Smallville did a awesome job, I thought he would of been a good choice for Man of Steel (2013), but I do have my doubts about the new guy in Man of Steel

  • christopher reeve is the best superman so far by a mile. brandon routh had the misfortune off staring in a very boring film that portrayed him in a sad light where his biggest battle was to remove an island. let him fight something, travel to another planet and no more luther land deals.

  • Chistopher Reeve, the man every boy wished he could become and every man wished he was and every old man wished he had have been!, fly with the angels, man, you inspired us,everyone one of us!,

  • Christopher Reeve will always be more than an actor... a Super Man!

  • Chris is a real Superman in our hearts and our minds forever ...

  • Chris Reeve the best Superman ever and Zack Snyder is ruining him with this new look. No red trunks no belt a rubber looking costume and some kind of metallic bracelets. If Chris Reeve wasn't dead he would be after seeing what they have done to Superman.

  • @ThomasJowers0 they have to change with the times

  • I used to think that there were only three things to be in this world, a Citizen of the Foundation, the Captain of a Federation Starship or Dr who..but I`ve added a fourth....SUPERMAN!!!!!!.

  • Really well put together and the song really ties it up, thanks, it was brilliant.

  • Title says it all.

  • I remember going to the cinema in 1978/9 i was only 7 or 8 and it blew me away, now at 39 i'm still blown away,I miss those days,it took I think three years for the flying scenes to work, but its way more realistic than all this CGI rubbish today, you can't believe antyhing you see nowadays its all too easy and no feel.

  • @Alanforfucksake Wow, same time and ages for me as well.

  • SUPERMAN LIVES!!! Now and forever!

  • yeah he dedo was the one and only. chris reeve was the best superman that ever lived. R.I.P my friend we will all miss you

  • I love this!

  • Fantastic work on a fantastic video for a fantastic man.....love it. Hope this new film for 2012 gives us all what we've been waiting a long time for.

  • when you think of SUPERMAN, there's only one person in your mind.. Christopher Reeve.

  • @themoose0611 Very true man, I grew up watching him. Cant believe he's no more to act in another Superman movie :(

  • @themoose0611 well yeah!

  • Sometimes things come together perfectly. It happened for this movie. Christopher Reeve was the perfect actor for this roll. The movie was great, I don't think they should of tried to continue to make these movies. It sure is fun to see them try to capture the same magic, but something tells me they will never come close. I wish Christopher Reeve was still alive and wouldv'e walked again.

  • thank you for this, BECAUSE...this song for the late great actor to play this awesome comic book character...is all the more inspiring!

    :)

  • He's the only Superman. Superman is him. Period.

  • Chris Reeve was awesome. His salary for Superman was only $250,000. Brando got a few million for 5 days work.

Chris stayed on an extra year to film the flying shots, i mean this guy had so much endurance he simply made the motion picture come to life and be Superman.

He is a big influence and will continue to be an iconic figure in generations to come.

  • @moh1612 Reeve worked on 1 and 2 back to back for 2 years. No doubt dedicated to the project.

  • @videozfann Absolutely

  • Dude, where did you find this bitchin' song? :)

  • At 2.20, The evil Superman looks very scary when he looks down at Clark Kent and suddenly look straight back up at him.

  • woooow great video. loved this song. fits him good :)

  • 13 people disliked this, 13 peopled are general zod with bogus accounts.

thanks for making us believe a man can fly, Chris. I hope I can do you proud

  • Love It!

  • My name is everton I'm from Brazil, when I was 6 in 87 I wanted to be Superman, it was my drean.kkkkkk Eta nostaugia. The best superman ever existed, miss him, thank you Christopher Reeve.

  • Quando eu tinha 6 anos em 87 eu queria ser o super homem, era meu sonho.kkkkkk Eta nostaugia .O melhor super homem que ja existiu, grandes saudades, obrigado Christopher Reeve .

  • SOOO fitting!!

  • Christopher Reeve was a real superhero in real life. He was paralysed his neck down (i think) by a horse riding competition and he raised money STILL for people who need it. He used his money for good. Its pretty inspiering stuff.

  • I love this, so positive and affirming.

  • Please WB give that role to Tom Welling....the only one who could replace the great Christopher..

  • @MrPasqualinho I agree, since Reeve's kind of gave him the seal of approval by appearing on Smallville.

  • This is the best song to go along with Superman, if you read the comics there are times that he is called "The One and Only."

  • this video would be awesome if it wasnt for the gay ass song

  • Love the song, love the video, love the sentiment. Reeve is and always will be Superman. You made us believe a man could fly. Brandon, you're good too, and it's not fair to you, but Reeve is Superman, you were never going to make us forget that. Sorry. Keep up the good work though. I look forward to see you don the suit and cape again.

  • wie heisst der doppelgänger von reeves in echt?

  • That man will always be my Superman.

  • This song gives me so many chills down my back and makes me cry and have all sorts of mixed emotions. What a beautiful man Christopher Reeves was. You will always be in in our hearts and you and your movies will live on. God bless his soul.

  • 1:50 a perfect way to show how Christopher Reeve was the one and only. Only he could pull off going from Clark to Supes. God bless and keep you Christopher

  • Christopher Reeve was the greatest superman and a very nice person i have watched his movies for years and i miss him every day and now that he is in heaven he is the only angel that does not need wings to fly i will remember him forever and so will my kids rest in peace

  • Both Reeves and Routh played superman well. Hackman was a hard to beat Lex Luthor.

  • Reeve is the only Superman! They should not make any more Superman movies now! They simply don't work without the great Christopher Reeve!

  • I believe I can fly...

  • thank you so much for this video ...I miss Christopher Reeves and this is a fitting tribute to the one and only Superman on and off screen !! I have been going thru some rough stuff and my good friend sent this to me and it reminds me that there are others that have gone thru so much and still inspire us all !! Wonderful Vid faving and subbing right now !! .....Cyn ;O)

  • Christopher Reeve's Superman movies the best Superman movie ever. Better than new Superman called Superman Return it might be also better than Superman series.

  • Reeve forever!!!

  • superman returns sucked...hopefully, nolan will do a better job rebooting superman.

  • Wonderful tribute he IS the one and only Superman!!!

  • I freakin' love this :)

  • George Reeves is the REAL Superman! Christopher Reeve owed his whole career to him.

  • @gooshala I think it's a matter of taste with who thought was the best Superman. To most I think Reeve will always be top and Reeve didn't own his whole career to Reeves, it was Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster who brought us Superman, Christopher Reeve brought a fiction character to life with such charm, compassion and the perfect look.

  • For me the best the world,a great actor, congratulations from Brazil.

  • Nice tribute chris was the one and only superman for me

  • As I child I flew with you as an adult I still do!! RIP Chris!

  • Christopher Reeve's human dignity was what he brought to all parts of his life and what shone still after his horrendous accident. His apparent belief that what he did and was did not constitute the remarkable and near-unique, but rather, in general, the fortunate and blessed, is the enduring legacy of this gentle man.

"He was a man, take him for all in all, I shall not look upon his like again." - Hamlet I ii

  • there only a unique Superman, and is cristopher reeve..... allways on our hearts, and my family.... D.E.P. or R.I.P. Superman hizo de nuestra juventud una ilusion, en mi familia......mi hermano...

  • Reeves was a great Superman, bit what I think he really excelled at was Clark Kent. Wonderful in the role.

  • nice job with the videos!

  • Gr8 song. RIP Christopher Reeve.

  • vrey good song!!!!!!!

  • R.I.P Superman

  • Christopher Reeve is the one true superman. I hate the other ones.

    Rip hero!

  • At least Christopher was not like George Reeves unable to get another Job,due to been Typecast. Christopher appear in some good movies after Superman.

  • very fitting

  • the best damn superman period!

  • @RnetProductions

It really wasn't. Don't get me wrong, Christopher reeve as Superman was great casting, I really liked their Lois lane, but they really screwed up Lex Luthor. This guy they wrote was NOT Lex Luthor. Lex is an absolute genius on every level, he views himself as saviour of all, and he is used to being able to buy anything--anyONE--he wants. In a way, he has more power than Superman. He's not supposed to be this guy who goes around yelling "I'm the greatest criminal of our time!!"

  • @Mrspikeprime In the 70s, people didn't take superheroes seriously at all. Today it's escapist fun, back then it was all comical. There were so many problems in the world, just like today. The Watergate scandal, the Vietnam War, it was a joke that a dude in a cape could fix any of these problems. The way the 60s Batman show viewed superheroes was how it was. The 1978 film changed a lot of that with a more serious approach, but there are still some left over thinking from that time.

  • @Mrspikeprime So you have to give the 1978 film a break, and put it in the context of it's time, a time when no one outside of comic geeks ever, EVER took superheroes seriously. The idea of guys in capes saving people was seen as silly. You are judging the 1978 film by everything you know from the 2000's up to 2011 about Superman and Lex Luthor. Luthor didn't become a corporate tycoon until the 80s, in the 70s he was still a mad scientist type criminal. Remember this was Silver Age Supes.

  • @gothatway09

I did give it credit for its superman and lois lane, but my problem wasn't really about the quality of the film, it was the comment made about how this was the best superman period. I'd argue that didn't come until much later during the timmiverse (Dc animated) when people DID take superheroes seriously, and when Lex Luthor became more than a silly comic foil/ mad man with money and turned him into the more complex character that many know more well today.

  • @Mrspikeprime Well, the best Superman period is always a matter of opinion. Personally I do think Christopher Reeve is the best Superman to be on screen. Gene Hackman's Luthor, well...again the character was a product of the time. Hackman clearly saw it as a goofy kids role. Look up the 1960s Batman TV show, that's the mentality people had about superheroes up till 1978, it was all just ridiculous kids stuff. Today it can still be thought of as kiddie, but it's a much more respected medium.

  • @RnetProductions That's because they had special effects that made him appear to fly and looked good for the 70s. No CGI close-up shots and he was a great actor portraying the role very well.

  • FOREVER REEVE !

  • an excellent video, the scene where clark catches the bullet... i always loved that moment, where he looks in his hand and smiles... in my opinion, try as they might, they will never replace christopher reeve as the man of steel. R.I.P SUPERMAN

  • i mis my hero!

  • Brilliant Video

  • how awesome is the visual of Christopher Reeve standing on the flagpole, staring down Zod and his minions. God keep you Christopher Reeve, you did make us believe a man could fly.

  • Those films changed the world and made us believe a man could fly, it had to be seen to be believed! With today's film effects, you wouldn't question being told a man could fly, and that's the sad thing. The flying sequences in Superman Returns were shite. Too CGI and obviously made in a studio. Something magical about the original movies actually convinced me, and to this day, Superman is amongst us; Only Chris Reeve can accomplish that.

Let us not try re-invent the wheel, but use it.

  • No, I'm sorry but they shouldn't start from square one. Dick Donner's Superman The Movie WAS square one, and that beautiful masterpiece cannot be replaced. Chris is unfortunately dead, and there's nothing we can do so let us do the honorable thing, and lay the series to final rest, and keep it in our hearts where it belongs.

  • I think they need to start from square 1 with Superman...get rid of everyone they had in Superman Returns, and find someone for Superman who inhabits the part like Chris Reeve did. It should say something to WB that 30 years later, Chris Reeve is still the one almost everyone pictures when they think of Superman, because he WAS Superman. Brandon Routh tried to act the part, but didn't pull it off right. They should tap Smallville's cast for a movie.

  • Actually, the latest rumors about Superman involve 2 different movies. First, the next Superman movie, at least so far, still has Brandan Routh starring in it. Second, the buzz about Tom Welling has to do with a Justice League movie. The rumor was that he was going to be tapped to play a younger Superman for that movie, not in a Superman sequel. I think he'd be perfect for both, and Erica Durance would be a MUCH better Lois than Kate Bosworth.

  • スーパーマン、大好きです。

    かっこいいですね!

    up Thank You!! (^^)

    song ,nice♪

  • i fully agree. the new superman movie is like watching superman #4. Its nice due to its a superman movie but it sucks.

  • LOL! Okay guys, it seem this somehow has gone off on a "Batman" tangent...this video IS about Superman!

Think about the immense impact and effect the original 1978 "Superman" movie had, and how Christopher Reeve portrayed the man of steel!!

Has Brandon or his movie had the same impact or effect? With some young children...maybe, but overall---NO! Brandon's movie is just a re-make with some more CGI effects thrown in to try and make up for what it was missing that the original had.

  • yep, it was lacking in acting ability, star power, creativitiy and Reeve being superman

  • @ViceFan

Well Superman is gonna get a reboot in 2011 much like Batman did with Batman Begins and Dark Knight as they forget the other ones didn't happened. I bet you think Dark Knight might be a remake of 1989's Batman due to the Joker in it again, NO it's not it's part of a reboot series and a new one.

What do you think of modern superhero movies like Spider-Man series, X-Men series, Iron Man, Incredible Hulk and Watchmen? all for a new generation of filmgoers.

  • Well, another reboot in a year may end up being just that...another reboot/redo. They need to come with something other than CGI effects to truly create something awesome. As I stated before, the true impact a superb "Superman" movie can create has already been done with Reeve's movie/s. So, again, new guys and new movies are just remakes.

But, I'll watch it I suppose. Are they having Brandon in it again?

  • @ViceFan

I hear they might have someone better like Tom Welling from Smallville. And what do you think of Batman rebooted? Batman Begins and Dark Knight might be considered remakes due to Batman's origin and the Joker in them, NO they have no connection to Tim Burton and Joel Schumacher's movies as they distant themselves away from them as possible as a new generation of Batman movies. Do you think Spider-Man is already the new Superman in movies?

  • "Batman" rebooted is...okay I guess--only saw the first new one. As for "Spider Man"...well I saw the first 2 but not the 3rd yet. They were pretty cool.

  • @ViceFan

What about X-Men, Iron Man, Incredible Hulk, Daredevil, Ghost Rider, Fantastic Four and other Marvel movies?

Did you watch Dark Knight yet? best Batman movie ever and the best Joker on film.

  • It's true Christopher Reeve is the one & only Superman!

  • @treebella23

And what do you think of Bale as Batman and Ledger as the new Joker?

  • You can't even put Brandon & Reeve in the same catagory. Reeve will always be viewed as superman. Everyone else is just someone in his costume.

  • @shawngaskins

How about Bale and Keaton or Ledger and Nicholson?

  • Bale is awesome but he is just missing something that Keaton had when he was in the batman suit. As for Ledger or Nicholson, Ledger's performance was nothing short of Awesome but I feel Nicholson also pulled it off great.

  • I could NOT have said this better! Amen!!

  • This is superb! I grew up with Christopher Reeve as "Superman" and I think he truly brought the original/true superhero to life in a way that can never be copied!

Yeah, in today's world there's tons of CGI that wasn't available in Reeve's day as the "Man of Steel"--but that's what makes his movies so special, the impact they had cannot truly be replicated...for it's already been done! Even with the CGI, ol' Brandon's version is still just a re-make copy!

    Reeve will always be Superman!

  • Agreed! Superman Returns was ok but it did not have the heart and feel of a Reeve film.

Reeve was the man, hands down.

    RIP! October 11, 2004.

  • @silverrhawk

Superman Returns was still better then part 3 and 4 don't you think? it ignores those two like they don't exist. Much like the new Batman movies are a reboot of the previous series.

  • I would put it with 3 but better than 4.

  • @silverrhawk

Yet you still don't think Ledger is better then Joker?

  • I know this was a question for silverrhawk but I loved Jack Nicholson's version of "Joker!!" I actually haven't seen "Dark Knight" yet, so maybe I'll like Heath's portrayal too?? I know it was his last movie...but I just love the first 1989 "Batman" movie!! Superhero movies now are too dark and depressing--not for kids either, more adult themed.

  • Agreed and Jack was the better Joker, IMO!

  • @silverrhawk

What's wrong with Ledger's version? i thought he did a brilliant peformance as Joker. Do you think Dark Knight is a remake of 1989?

  • Yeah, 4 is terrible.

  • @SidJustice1

Hey Sid, did you watch Watchmen yet? if you haven't, it's a must see and the best superhero movie besides Dark Knight and Superman.

  • @ViceFan

But do you think Superman Returns is an improvement over part 3 and 4? almost as good as the first two.

  • @Johnlindsey289

Ehh...I don't know. I didn't think Part 3 was that bad. Part 4 wasn't that good, true. But "Superman Returns" was nothing but a bunch of new CGI effects...as is what most movies now days are. I need some depth, some substance to relate to. You can have all the special effects you want...if that's all the movie is then I won't really care for it.

Christopher Reeve will always be Superman!!

  • @ViceFan

Well Returns ignores parts 3 and 4 as it continues off the first 2 loosley.

What do you think of other comic book movies like Batman Begins, Dark Knight, X-Men Series, Spider-Man Series, Watchmen, V for Vendetta, Sin City, From Hell, Heavy Metal, Akira, Ghost in The Shell, Oldboy, History of Violence, Batman 1989, Batman Returns, Flash Gordon, Ghost World, American Splendor, Riki-Oh, Ichi The Killer etc.?

  • @ViceFan

Do you think these new superhero movies live up to Superman like the X-Men series, Spider-Man series, Iron Man, Incredible Hulk and others for a new generation? they know how to please everyone.

  • @ViceFan

You should check out Watchmen, 300, V For Vendetta, Sin City, Road to Perdition, History of Violence and others. Excellent non-superhero comic book movies.

  • I have seen "300"--very bloody (which I know really happened) but the main thing about it that I didn't like was ALMOST all of it was CGI--hardly any real acting, sets, or scenes are in it! I heard/read it only took a few weeks to make because almost all of it was done on a computer.

Have heard about "V For Vendetta" and "Sin City." I might check those out sometime!

  • @ViceFan

What about Watchmen? A quality movie.

  • A Superman to the end!

  • Chris my friend....I hope your able to see how many fans you remain to have. i hope your able to see all the GREAT comments people leave for you. So many people give credit to Brandon, but they pay the fullest respect to The Man of Steel. You get full colors. Heres to my friend and favorite actor of all time...Christopher Reeve. God Bless the one and only Superman.

  • can someone help me please. i'm trying to find out which superman film contains the sequence from 0:58 to 1:17, when both he and the camera are upside down. which one is that from? 1, 2 or 3?

  • it's okay, i just found out it's half way through superman 1.

  • christopher reeves is the man of steel too bad they couldnt have done it during this time with christopher been born later on in life but then he wouldnt have made other great films in his time, i thought routh was really good but needed to be older change the costume back to the way its suppose to be it was singer the director that fucked it up story wise, the costume and the cast needed to be different, maybe get a redue like the hulk, by the way love this song with vid awesome

  • I ve been reading superman comics for 25 years and I still only hear Chris Reeves voice.

  • The irreplaceable Superman! Reeve just IS Superman, plain and simple. Routh gave a solid performance regardless and I would have loved to hear Reeve's thoughts on Superman Returns if he was alive now. God bless his soul.

  • @Zepp900 LONG LIVE: REEVE - ROUTH :-)

  • @Zepp900 I agree Cant fault Routh for Chris having his accident

  • routh was good as superman but reeve is superman for ever

  • he was the best superman

  • @skyway93 He was the ONLY Superman.

  • a man of steel in many ways, fantastic movies, i am getting so sick of CGI no mater how good it is its still CGI, i cant remember the last time i went wow i wonder how they did that, word is new ghostbusters is going to try and do it the good old fashioned way with models and clever cam work if you know what i mean

  • Brandon Routh was an okay Superman. He filled in for Reeve pretty well, emulating the timidness of Clark. But it didn't feel right.

  • This song sounds like its from 1980, it's so very early 80s sounding.....so I was SHOCKED to find out it came out in 1991, part of a soundtrack of a film.

  • Supe rocks! God bless you C.R.

  • Love super man

  • Well done that was nice but also reminds me of the huge loss we suffered when C.R. died R.I.P. "The only TRUE Superman"

  • Mr. Reeve IS Superman! RIP, and thanks for the movies, kind sir

  • you are the one and only Superman! RIP Chris

  • Awesome video!!! :)

    Timothy

  • RIP Chris :(

  • I loved the video. especally where you edited to the cut of superman chasing the rocket, it was perfect!

  • And his name was Kal-El, right?

  • I really miss Chris Reeve, I had Superman wallpaper when I was small in my bedroom, those movies he did as Superman were incredible, thanks for this video, it's amazing, a great, fitting tribute, rip

  • There was superman movie serials staring Kirk Alyn superman and the mole men staring George Reeves and superman the movie staring Christopher Reeve.

  • can any1 tell me the name of the 1st superman movie,I've been searching for it but I cr the namee xD

  • no matter, just by seeing reeve makes the day, He is superman, and I dont wanna hear anymore cause if u dont agre u r the type of guy that tries to write something just with the sole purpose of contradicting, tchau

  • I agree, it's Reeve hands down. Not Brandon Routh, not Dean Cain, although George Reeves and Tom Welling are somewhat plausible.

  • where can i watch this

  • Awesome video!!! Miss the guy big time!!

  • lol. Cheesy but I LOVE this song.

  • best superman tribute video ive seen ever

  • awesome video

    cool

  • love it
