@Soren499 he wasn't a villian! he was right about Hojo.....He was sure as hell right about ShinRa as seen in Advent Children.....he was right and yet people think of him as the villian of the game WTF?! ShinRa is the reason Zack is dead. Hojo is the reason Seph, Lucrecia, and Aerith are dead..if anything Genesis was one of the protagonists of the game.....he was so misunderstood, am I the only one who sees this?

But he knew everything he was doing in that game, even at his own indiscretion, which triggered much of events that even lead to FF7. Until he does anything after DoC, he's not a protagonist. That definition is not applicable to him. Because of him, FF7 had to deal with Sephiroth (psh, like that's how FF7 was supposed to happen). Besides, he is the main antagonist of CC anyway, as I'm sure you know.

As for Sephiroth, has it ever occurred to anyone that if Hojo hadn't injected him with Jenova cells and simply just let him be a normal person (or as normal as soldiers go) he wouldn't be like that? He wouldn't have believed Jenova was his mother. I think there's a higher antagonist here that every1 had missed until DoC, and by then most had 4gotten bout Seph

@emilycupcake1 Genesis Rhapsodos was one of the unfortunate souls that ShinRa destroyed for their own gain. He wasn't insane, or evil, as most of us believed. He went AWOL to finally bring the corrupt to justice. Yes, even Genesis made some bad decisions, even you must see that-- from corrupting Angeal to destroying Sephiroth's sanity. He was punished for that-- he found what he desired, but lost his friends, family, and everyone he ever cared about. All because of ShinRa.

Angeal hated himself for the same reason Seph hated himself...he thought of himself as a monster. If Hollander hadn't put Jenova cells in Angeal then he wouldnt have any reason to believe himself a monster. its sorta the same for Seph.Yes I admit Gen called Seph a monster. Thats only cuz he believed himself to be 1.

@goochsurfer the graphics are cool, the story-line is more of a "chick flick" than your usual final fantasy game, the battle system wasn't in turns like in 7 and it was more of a "choose 3 options and execute than watch a flashy attack" action. if square really does want to recover, since their getting their asses kicked since skyrim released as well as TOR; an FF7 remake (everything the same, but with a graphics boost) will become the best hot seller of the year.

I've got every single FF game released (from FFI to FFXIV), and yes, I'm quite a fan of the series, and spent a lot more time on it than any other games. I still think Skyrim was awesome though! (nearly got 110 hours of play at the moment). Still, you can't compare Final Fantasy and Skyrim... never! On a sidenote... I don't hope they'll remake any of the old games... but instead make it possible to play them on newer consoles, like they did with FFIV-FFIX to PS3.
