@zikalify If you are doing a full install on a clean(new) harddrive you would need the full edition .If you already have xp or vista you can use the upgrade version .
To install a 64-bit version of Windows 7 on a computer running a 32-bit version of Windows, you'll need to start, or boot, your computer using a 64-bit Windows 7 installation disc or files.
#
If you start your computer using a 64-bit Windows 7 installation disc or files, but your computer isn't capable of running a 64-bit version of Windows, you'll see a Windows Boot Manager error. You'll need to use a 32-bit Windows 7 installation disc or files instead.
@NellylarK If you want to move from a 32-bit version of Windows to a 64-bit version of Windows 7 or vice versa, you'll need to back up your files and choose the Custom option during Windows 7 installation. Then, you'll need to restore your files and reinstall your programs.
@NellylarK You can use the Upgrade option during Windows 7 installation, which preserves your files, settings, and programs, only if you're currently running a 32-bit version of Windows Vista and you want to upgrade to the 32-bit version of Windows 7. Similarly, if you are running a 64-bit version of Windows Vista, you can only perform an upgrade to a 64-bit version of Windows 7.
Why would you pay over $100 for software, I got mine from the piratebay website for free and it's the ultimate version. Now everyone in my family is using it. Even linux makes a great alternative and its free.
DO NOT GET ULTIMATE. you barley get anything extra. there are many programs than substitute for the ultimate crap that are FREE. i would never spend $300 on a plastic disk.
just got my windows 7 yesterday! i was thinking of getting home premium, then i thought nevermine just get ultimate... i didn't know home premium also comes in both 32bit and 64bit flavours!
hmm... hope to unbox mine today :) Can't wait...
i search for a windows 7 unboxing vid just to be sure how to open it. don't want to end up like how many ppl did with vista... broken boxes
@xhog so if u have a 32-bit os u just gotta put da 64-bit os disk 2 upgrade or u gotta put da 32-bit 1st den da 64-bit os disk? how does it work cuz i have a 32-bit os i wanna upgrade 2 a 64-bit
@xhog So was I until lots of people started using it then it became... crap, I encourage people to use Ubuntu which is excellent due to its safeness and that it's free. Before I get hate on this comment actually try it out then I'll happily listen to your opinions
i will got in wednesday a new notebook windows 7 its got 4 gb ram and 500gb memory harddisk its got bluetooth wifi webcamera and more and its 17.3 inchies
with the upgrade version you get 32bit and 64bit but you need xp or vista . with xp you will have to back up your files first and then do a fresh install from xp .From Vista all your files and settings will be saved when you upgrade .If you have a brand new hard drive(no operating system you will have ti buy the full retail or oem version of 7
No windows 98 is not supported . But you could install the full retail version as long as your pc meets the system requirements ...1gz cpu or faster 1gb ram (32bit) 2gb ram (64bit) .and directx 9 graphics processor .
hey nice video :) but I have buy windows 7 home edition x86,but my processor is 32 bit,is that windows 7 wanna work on my configuration or not????please I need answers please :D
as long as you have 1gz cpu and 1gb memory (2gb will be better) you will be ok to install 7 . Also to get aero you will need a directx 9 gpu ,but it will still work without that but no aero look.
ok i did the free upgrade option and ordered through hp for my pavilion. it said that i needed to fax them a proof of purchase, and i did. it still says they have not received anything from me and the order is pending. can anyone help?
actually it isnt the first time.. with vista ultimate you got both the 32bit and 64bit software in the same package, however i am glad to see they are providing botrh versions of 7 in the same package regardless of what package you buy
Can i do a format if i have windows xp and i have bought windows 7?
