UNHCR wanted to investigate war crimes right after Prabhakaran's death. They couldn't do it coz most of the countries voted for SL. But they never gave up. If we haven't committed any war crimes as a disciplined army, why do we have to resist any investigations required by UNHCR. By doing all these dramatics it actually proves that we have done something against the humanity during the war. Law is equal to everyone whether he's a traitor or not. So still Gov has no right to arrest him like that.

Several human rights organisations have called to try the Sri Lankan state in international courts on alleged abuses against civilians and surrendees.
During the presidential election where Gen. Fonseka challenged president Mahinda Rajapaksa, both claimed credit for defeating the LTTE.

UNHCR wanted to investigate war crimes right after Prabhakaran's death. They couldn't do it coz most of the countries voted for SL. But they never gave up. If we haven't committed any war crimes as a disciplined army, why do we have to resist any investigations required by UNHCR. All the parties that rallied up with Fonseka had taken up the contract from the western countries to destablize Sri Lanka. Just look at the facts. I'm not anti-American or American friendly but face the reality. If America or other western countries want to destabilize or take over SL, they could have done that easily like they did to Iraq based on human rights violations. So far they have stopped GSP based on these facts. MR did bow infront of these countries to get the IMF loan. Now SL economy is controlled by IMF rules such as imposing taxes. And here u talk abt their backbones. If America wants, NATO will capture SL in 7 days.
