@bigpotplant yeah, we can confirm this is true.. i read it a few days ago in Paul's book "Sometimes: a life of love, loss and erasure". Andy was a real drug addict, and I think his ex-partner (Paul Hickey) has most of the fault :(

I met Andy & Vince in the studio while recording , the good the bad & the ugly, Chains of love B-Side. Vince never shut up, Andy hardly said a word, both great guys ;) In rela life they are the reverse of their personas on stage.

Yeah, as I have seen many times and what people who don't know the band that well is that Andy seems a very shy person and although once he is in fancy dress and jumping around on stage he is fine, he quite often appears to be affected by initial nerves, obviously he has nothing to worry about cos once he gets going he is AWESOME !!
