The Wi is basicly a playstation one (graphix wise), the 360 (got one), is a playstation 2 1/2 (500mb), and the ps3 is not the power pc it trying to be(around 800mb),1 Gig graphix cards cost $80 on ebay, come on console makes, where's the new console ? I'm getting old.

just compare old school game to new gen games, old school was a good funky storyline (look at mario's or dk's or fox's or link's one) a freaking good gameplay (IDK for u but Super Mario World has one of the best gameplay of any game so far) a freaking huge intense difficulty (Contra III, Ghoul's n Ghost, Battletoad), it was so freaking good, now its all about Multiplayer (CoD, MAG, Battlefield, GoW) with good graphic, I still play retro game decades later, wont be the same with "new gen" game...

Gameplay wise, retro games were, and always will be classics, but the stories are BLOWN OUT OF THE WATER by games N64 onwards.

@regtracker HD and decent texture filtering and anti-aliasing abilities would add to any game, no matter what graphical style, as it makes that 'kiddy' style much nicer to look at.

The extra graphical ability doesn't mean you HAVE to use it to make ultra-realistic games. I wish people could separate the phrases 'graphics matter' and 'all games should look like crysis maxed.

1. Pre-2000 Those games on PS1 and N64 looked amazing. Amazing. But graphical abilities progress, and nintendo stopped keeping up with the wii. Yes, nintendo have always lagged a little in the graphics department, but a little is fine. With the wii they are still near enough two generations behind.

2. Jesus christ man, look in front of your eyes, games like uncharted 2, portal 1+2, Fable, mass effect 1+2 and mario galaxy are modern games.

It doesn't take a genius to see that sony and microsoft will be planning their consoles, and that nintendo needs to advance about 1.5 generations to catch up

Wii 2 or Wii HD would be pretty stupid from a marketing perspective. Casual gamers would think, "Well why would I need Wii HD, my Wii is fine". The name should include Wii (IF the new console is a successor to the Wii concept, which I quite honestly do not hope for), but it needs to imply that this is something way more powerful, something that makes the Wii look like a cheap, old toy, so Wii-craving children would want one as soon as they hear the name

a) Change the menu of the console. While this one is still fine, it should be polished so it fits with the HD.

b) Bring in their version of rewardable achievements/trophies (as these are quite useless, or in other words, there is not much of a point in them and in your gamerscore (what is the difference between someone who has 1000GS or guy who has 120.000GS)) With rewardable, I mean some points for store or something.

c) Avatars should me WAY more customizable like on the xbox 360.
