@kite05 Manabe plays a Cyclone, not a mustang.

@bloc22 no,Manabe played a fender Mustang wtih original parts until he put in seymour duncan JB pick ups in it , and Sawao played a mexican fender Cyclone for a long time after his telecaster

@kite05 Hold up, are we talking about when he first recorded it? or now? because I know Manabe played a Mustang a while back and then moved on to the Cyclone (which Sawao still plays). I think at this point right now Manabe plays a Jazzmaster though. Anyways what you said about the pickups is right. I have the same ones on my Jaguar lolz

@bloc22 first recorded what? in the video for new animal Manabe plays his new Sago-nmg CAOS custom guitar, thats what hes used since about scarecrow PV, but yea, Manabe played a mustang for the longest time then he played a jazzmaster during the US tours etc he never played a cyclone, you can even watch interwiews or get the music books that say what they use or go to pirouzu.net an look st guitar guide an forums

At some point though, people have to forget about gear and just play. That ultimate tone you seek is in Manabe's hands. Just as Eddie Van Halen can pick up any guitar and make it sound like him so can Manabe. Hope you can prove me wrong though...

Mr.Manabe often use BOSS BD-2 and BIG MUFF π.

Sometimes I see the magazine by which Mr. Manabe is explaining his machine parts. It's the SOUND DESIGNER.

But I cannot reach the ideal sound at all...hmmm..

From the Pillows Best Collection Band Score:

Manabe-san uses: BD-2, 2 Big Muffs, and either a Rat 2 or MD-2 for his distortion tone (he changes his distortion pedal). But it is most likely his Orange OR120 that provides most of his great tone. He also uses a Line 6 DL-4, PS-5, and MORLEY bad horsie wah. I hope this helps you, but I think your tone is already very close to Manabe-san's already.

No, I am not copying it to the note. I repeatedly listen, the sound is imagined in a head, and plays it. However, I will write the tab when having time to spare because there seems to be demand.

I have a 1966 duo sonic 2.the only difference between a mustang and a duo sonic is a duo sonic has no tremolo bar.

Is that a vintage mustang?

My guitar is Fender JAPAN Mustang several years ago model. It's not vintage. Because I was able to buy used that(almost new article!) about 200 dollars, it was very lucky^^
