  • *know how to do it......

  • Any way to record with a laptop, cuz AVerTV HD dvr looks better (sharper) and i wanna buy it. but i have a LAPTOP and i need to now how to do it then... Ive got fraps too, and if someone helps me im gonna - Subscribe! - to that person!!

  • DOWNWARD FUCKING DOG!

  • Both are Good i Suggest Both!

    I have The DVR

  • Me and my friend wanted to do some gameplays kinda like " How to annoy people on black ops with kevin" Whe game recorder would work the best?

  • AVermedia looks good, maybe raise the brightness if possible, it looks a bit dark to me.

  • My bad it's not a Game Capture HD sorry

  • Looks like the HD PVR is recorded in 720p and the Game Capture HD is recorded in 1080i, and 720p look better then 1080i.

  • dude, what is that game, looks fun

  • @TehZnoh no more heroes

  • LOOK AT MY VIDEO TO SEE THE AVER MEDIA HD DVR QUALITY WITH THE BEST RENDER SETTINGS EVER!

  • there is almost no difference, the only thing different is the brightness, the hauppauge is a little brighter, thats it

  • avertv is better. nuff said

  • hauppauge ftw

  • I have the Avermedia AverTV HD. I burned a football game in AVCHD format to a DVD+R. The colors were EXACTLY the same as the cable box recording when I switched back and fourth to compare. It only looks different on the computer and far as the colors looking not quite as saturated as the Hauppauge PVR.

I do think the HDMI out on the Avermedia is useless though.

  • lol hd pvr is alot better...

  • Your description is incorrect. HDMI output not input on the Avermedia. So it comes down to which is more important - optical audio (5.1 surround capable) or HDMI output to a receiver/TV with 2-channel stereo/pro logic surround.

  • @jeffhanson1 the AVerMedia AVerTV HD DVR only has HDMI input, theres no output.

  • @kormaruR I bought one of the avermedia units. it clearly says HDMI OUT on the back. Additionally, having HDMI input on a capture device would be illegal.

  • @kormaruR Theres no input, only outoput. I have one.

  • pvrs a bit better , AVer is still worth getting thought

  • AVerTV looks More Realistic though

  • thumbs up if you skipped through out the video, i know you did

  • @qveterangamerp till atleast 3:43 lol

  • Comment removed

  • they look almost the same but the aver is cheaper and you dont have to have the aver hooked up to the computer like the hauppauge

  • Everyone that know something in video edition knows:

    AVerMedia > Hauppauge =S

  • AVerTV is a bit sharper, but the PVR has nice colors

  • @davidhogahoga I've been looking really close and can't see a difference in detail but do notice the 1212 has a little more color saturation. Also the color temperature on the 1212 is warm vs cool on the Avermedia. Also white graphics on the 1212 (like on the opening menu screens) have more pop.

  • @davidhogahoga You could always color correct.

  • @Troopster1232 thats true, but will never be the same, id still buy the aver media one though, use it for PC

  • @davidhogahoga well the colors can still be corrected later on so I will still go with the AVerMedia for sure

  • Comment removed

  • There is really no major difference... A bit of editing and the AVerTV on would look just as good!

  • The only difference is the PVR's colour is better but it could just all to be with contrast and brightness but considering the Avermedia is about $150 cheaper that's the one i'm getting

  • Comment removed

  • it looks like tha hauppage has better colours but that does not matter?

  • hd pvrs colors are better but other than that they're the same quality and both look amazing but the avermedia is cheaper... i have one and they're well worth it

  • @xXRossReboundXx good luck ;D

  • @kormaruR hahaha, you gave up so easily on that guy, but agreed, just forget what I said then. lol

  • Only reason the HD PVR looks 'better' is because it's brighter. A little editing on the AverMedia clips and you can get it on par. Think I'm going to order an AVerMedia capture card :D

  • @gamez101 I say you do it man. I've been researching and looking around, they sell for a fairly decent price. Everything with the set up will cost you about 60 bucks if you look well enough. It revivals all other cheap HD capturing hardware because it is so damn beast and good. Oh and keep in mind I am probably going to buy a used one, why would I need a brand new one if the old one works just as good for 60 bucks less and then you'll need an hdmi splitter then you get HD/HDMI video. Perfect. ;)

  • Hahaha I didn't notice the competition until now you used some crap card instead of the boxed options. LOL!!! haha.

  • @PPCOPTHEDOG well if you use eye tv on your mac you can record with the pvr and it actually increases quality. That's what I use

  • i get a aver media first them hd pvr pvr is still the best but they look the same

  • Hd pvr has a little bit brigheter screen!

  • Video brightness can get toggled very easily though through video editing software.

  • HD pvr just looks brighter

  • they look the same!

  • @monkeyboykane I think the PVR looks slightly brighter.

  • I just bought the advermedia and plugged it into the tv everything is in the right slots but I'm not getting sound how can I fix this?

  • @PPCOPTHEDOG both of the product i compared requires a pc. if you're talking about the recent release of "AVerMedia Game Capture HD MTVGCAPHD" then i don't have any input for that, as i don't own it.

but im sure there still 1 con for that and its no direct pc connection which you can't use it to stream.

eitherway, im happy with the both product i got now, which is 1 is used for recording and 1 is used for streaming.

  • HDPVR has better color quality

    AverMedia has better looking picture

  • Comment removed

  • ah fuck this ima buy my self a hd potato

  • avermedia well cheaper and same quality mainly

  • @gamingfor3v3r both give u the needed software to record.

  • AverMeadiaTv Wins :O

  • PVR All the way:)

  • 2:30 <---- click for porn XD

  • @FallenKiid the Happauge HD PVR works better with macbook, the AverMediaTV on the other hand, only works with windows.

  • PVR because Its brighter

  • @XTManimal Not it doesn't but if you think it does it is easily adjustable in the menu settings.

  • @FallenKiid hdpvr is the only option for these 2 choice, as avermedia hd dvr req pcie and not sure if it works on mac too. but you can take a look at the "AVerMedia Game Capture HD" /watch?v=Rd5jDcp1ffs

  • You can yurn up the brightness for the AverMedia

  • the pvr is a lot clearer avermedia is a lot darker for some reason

  • @CycloneCinema cuz of the default color seettings

  • K im thinking of getting the Game edition of HDpVR or one of the AVers which one is better my CPU is Intelcoreduo 2.20 and 3gb ram and sorry grahpics 23000x ati mobility have a laptop which one will work best but works good thats what i mean

  • @metalison06 dont get the game edition hd pvr 1445 if its not any significant cheaper because the software it bundle with is crappy compare to the hd pvr 1212 edition.

check their website to see if you really want the gaming edition software or the normal edtion.

  • can u comentate over the dvr like does it work??

  • @boring45ful ppl usually use sony vegas feature to commentate over video after the video is recorded by dvr or pvr.

    or

ppl can use the hardware setup where they get an audio mixer like "Behringer XENYX502 5-Channel Mixer" to directly record their commentary while recording the video. that's for live commenting.

  • Ooh! I thought this was a comaprison between the HD PVR and Avermedia Game Capture HD - silly of me and I don't know why! But I'd love to see those two go head to head. Darkness cannot always be edited out. If your darkness is limited in range, lightening it can give you horrible looking blocky shadows.

  • @SpunkBlobs I thought it was too, I heard the aVermedia C281 was pretty good quality.

  • @TemplarLuksiK i saw the review on it, its actually pretty good. its a + for not needed a pc and it records straight to the harddrive but then - if you plan on streaming since it can't be directly connecting to pc for instant viewing like the older avermedia hd dvr usb C874 or hauppauge hd pvr.

but in the end, i still prefer getting a dedicated streaming capture device that can direct feed'ed to any broadcast program instead of using scr capture program. this way, less processing

  • @kormaruR The PC free thing is kinda getting in the way for me because its being used to recommend the Avermedia. But I'm just wanting to known whats got the best captur quality. Of the caps I've seen that are great, when I've asked, the reply has always been the HD PVR. I've seen some caps on here from the Avermedia Game Cap HD that have been really bad but the author has been saying at the same time its better than the HD PVR. LOL So I'm still looking! :)

  • Sure the HD PVR is better, but you save $70 for a little less quality.

  • The hauppauge has a better Default Contrast but not by much and Brightness

  • Hauppauge is slightly better

  • whoa wait?? make her naked again... lol

  • WTF is this game?? lol

  • Haupauge looks more crisp. Brighter colors. Thats just me anyways :P

  • the Avernedia may be darker, but you can edit it to be brighter! So in my opion the Avermedia cap card is way better in clearity thaan the Hauppauge. i have both and i use my AverMedia I LOVE IT!!

  • @FaZeHQ22 i take ur hd pvr if ur using aver media then xD

  • @RefreshFailure Haha sorry but no. i let my friends use it any ways

  • Hauppauge looks brighter.

  • @DantheMan101395 yeah it does but the Avermedia DVR is better

  • @TheDylan1234 how is it better?

  • @DantheMan101395 dearer and better colour

  • AVerMedia is cheaper but a tad darker which could probably be edited out so i'd go with the Aver.

  • for $50 less ill take the avermedia tyvm

  • I'll stick with my Hauppauge thank you.

  • Hauppauge reminds me of the LIE on the way to Roosevelt Field Mall.

  • Haupauge seems brighter and clearer to me.

  • hd pvr looks nicer and brighter

  • so...which ones better?

  • @AtomNomCrom Well it is truly a tie, both are great capture devices but the HD PVR is now being sold at Gamestop so it will win the war.

  • The AverTV HD is RIGHT NOW at $43.99

  • @soplox5 Where did u find it for 43.99 ?

  • @zjasoon205 On Newegg but that was yesterday. I guess it was a 1 day deal. But I swear it was at that price.

  • @soplox5 Ahhh damn it !!!

  • @soplox5 Its 149.99 damn and i need to get a new laptop damn ....

  • @zjasoon205 Roxio Game Cap 60.00 dollars and you could build your ownn computer for cheaper

  • @cholt404 dont recommend roxio game cap because max res it can capture is 480p

  • @kormaruR Yes however at the extremely low price its good for gamers who dont neccasarily no how to edit like you and i may, and you can put 1080p with roxio

  • I get a bit of a greenish glare or tinge in the background with the avermedia, anyone know what thats all about?

  • Went with the hauppauge. Thanks

  • I just recently pickup the Hauppauge HD PVr 1212, after using the Avertv HDpvr for over a year. Avertv was great but i was capturing some huge file sizes like 40-50gigs fo a 15-20 video, and i had to capt in raw lossless video to get the best quality, then i had to convert the file sizes (shrink them) for manageable sizes like 6-8gigs, then had to edit, and convert them one more time before broadcasting to Youtube or whomever. lots of work. checkout my old stuff, up to NCAAfootball12.

    cheers

  • I have bought the Aver Media USB HD DVR and it seems like I can not put my recorded file into Sony Vegas 10. If I record, I can watch my recorded files from windows and they look wonderful. But if I put them into Vegas it just drags the audio into it. I can not even see the video, might be because of the .TS file. Iam thinking about sending it back and ge the HD PVR

  • @BlackUltrax thats weird

  • @kormaruR The right side has more detail for some reason, but the left side has better color... I can't decide what do you think? (State opinion on both separate then compare and tell me your choice)

  • @dude12po the detail are very minor, it boils down to either money or if your pc can handle it or not.

pretty much my opinion is in the description.

for recording, i perfer hauppauge hdpvr. for streaming, i perfer avermedia hddvr

  • @kormaruR Thanks for replying......*subscribes*.

  • @BlackUltrax i had that problem when i bought a hd pvr once and returned it but later after returning it i figured out that the sony 9.0 i have didn't support hd so it couldn't import it so you would have to get the hd editing sony vegas. Hope this helped

  • I'm still trying to figure out my aver tv cap card.

  • Nice comparision, I have had the AVerMedia AVerTV HD DVR for about a year now. Can't seem to get my PS3 output to view over 480p though through component.

  • @mrbobo86 what do you mean? just set the ps3's display setting to 720p then use avermedia center to watch/record. you might need to edit the setting in avermedia center to record in h264 codec and max bitrate for best quality.

  • @kormaruR could you tell me where u got the avermedia for $85

  • @feveronceagain123 newegg, it was on sale that day for it

  • I guess I gotta go buy that Hauppage then

  • @o3killu y?

  • @kormaruR Cause I want my vids to look good lol.

I've been using a Dazzle for a couple months and I can't install Sony Vegas onto my computer for max quality....

  • @o3killu you still need vegas to edit hauppauge videos. not alot of other editor can handle .m2ts file type

did you try sony vegas 10? that ver fixed the stupid 100% rendering glitch for me that was on ver. 9.

  • @kormaruR My computer antivirus apparently deletes the keygen needed for Sony Vegas and I've tried installing Sony Vegas 10.

    Doesn't really like working lol.

And I use Pinnacle Studio 14 Ultimate for my videos.

  • @o3killu if you want a cheaper capture, you can get the "AVerMedia AVerTV USB HD DVR" ~$150.

It basically the exact copy of hauppauge HD PVR 1212, a hardware encoder (lol at AVermedia's BMI and HD PVR counterfeits).

It uses the same Total Media Extreme to Record video like in HD PVR, the color might be same as the PCI-E ver. tho.

Search for it on yahoo to see how's the quality.

As for the Sony vegas, maybe try burn the keygen to CD/DVD so its write/delete protected and launch it from there??

  • @kormaruR 150? That's not too bad. I'll check it out.

  • @o3killu just temporarily disable your antivirus, im a computer technician. trust me just disable it until you install sony vegas 10 and enable it when your done. i've did it about 15 times now and my operating system work fine :) just make sure before you start browsing sites that you don't forget to enable it.

  • @o3killu just kill the real time check in settings, i use avg and the real time protection is what deletes your keygen

  • Interesting...

  • hauppage wins
