Best video ever! I went to RadioShack to pick one up today and the manager tells me "Why? Why Virgin Mobile?" and he starts telling me that if I want a decent phone that has 3G Internet, gets messages fast, and blah blah blah. @k15camacho I agree. Virgin Mobile isn't the BEST when it comes to calling and what-not, but their internet and texting is more than worth it. I'm not a super-phone user; I want the flexibility of Android, with access to certain apps. This phone was definitely a good choice for me. I text 98% of my time on the phone anyway, or check Twitter/FB/News.

@sthenarah Well I didn't know about the Optimus slider, but after doing some research I think I'm still inclined to the Triumph. Honestly, I got over the touchscreen keyboard issue, and would prefer the faster processor and larger screen. Personally, I have not flashed my phone to cyanogenmod because there isn't enough support for it. Its not easy to do and there are a lot of technical problems.

The optimus line is very entry model.. and I think the triumph is just a wee-bit better.

@maggot866 The service is very up and down reception wise, but Sprint has already announced that they're upgrading their network, so improvements are sure to come. As for the customer service, I personally, did not have any issues with them over the phone. I got a guy who spoke excellent english, everything was great.

The phone is nice, but keep in mind its not some amazing dual-core NFC-enabled, Google-packing, multi-tool of a phone, like the Galaxy S2 or something.

@MrUnrealSoldier I believe you can, since your account number is technically locked in at that rate. You should ask their technical service before upgrading however, or talk to someone in a sprint store (since VM runs on Sprint).

I believe you are locked in for good, until you close the account. Check to make sure, and when you find out please let me know because I have the same question.

@xxvenom23xx Yes of course, as I detailed in the video I also have the $25 plan. That grants you unlimited data and texts, thus it is covered via the Android marketplace. This is a normal Android phone with all the features that 2.2 phones have.

@kalijunfan1 Well Micro-SD cards (the tiny thing that goes in your phone for storage) was made for small devices. SD cards are used in cameras, mp3 players, etc and they are made for larger devices. Most printers, computers, devices have card-readers so they can read the data off of a variety of memory types (such as SD, Micro-SD, Compact-Flash, Memory Stick Pro Duo, etc)

If you ever needed to read data off your Micro-SD card, and didn't have a micro-SD reader, you use the SD-adapter to convert

@Skyethur The battery is better than most people are saying. I get a lot of moderate use out of my phone and I have no problem with the battery life. I recharge it anytime I'm at home on my computer, or over-night. The signal is fine, its typically what you'd expect. The signal does drop out or slow down if you're on a very heavy urban area (such as underground rooms at college). Out in the open, the signal is fine. I run it off wi-fi while at home.

@irongiant369 Its technically sprint, so its pretty good (assuming you have good reception). I usually use wifi though. The cell reception is okay, the worst thing is that some people have trouble hearing me (AT$T users specifically). I use this phone for 85% data and texting, so if you're like me, you will like it.

@velouriesa Using an application like Handcent SMS, you can customize your notifications to be however you want. You can apply a popup, you can apply a "screen-on" notification, a ringtone, a vibration pattern/duration, a combination of all of these, or nothing at all but a status bar icon (or desktop icon notification).

Personally, I keep the screen off, and have the notification LED blink (violet), and I have a one-time ringtone that is soft and quiet.

What do you mean the resolution isn't very high on the triumph? It is 480x800 pixels and that is standard WVGA resolution, it is not quite as high as qhd, but it is by no means not a high resolution screen.

I Got one and love it. Its fast responsive. I got it rooted using gingerbreaker the fastest root ever. How ever barnacle will not work properly. barnacle can only go to google pages, but hey pdanet works just fine and keeps it charged(you all know how bad the battery ii under heavy use).
