The pot calling the kettle black. Like Cenk said, "THIS, is indoctrinating the kids." There's an old saying, "the finger that points, has 3 more fingers pointing right back at them"; meaning that those who accuse are just projecting their own faulty & questionable character onto someone else. The Republicans are endlessly trying to accuse Obama of exactly what they're doing.., indoctrinating the American youth. SMH
last I checked there is a difference between me choosing to be charitable and the government forcing me to be charitable. Nice twisting of their words there.
@bonemailtanks The government isn't forcing you to be charitable. You are contributing to your nation and it is the GOVERNMENT that is using a portion of your contribution to aid your fellow american.
If you don't want to contribute, then leave. You may as well be an illegal immigrant.
Charity should be done out of love for the fellow man. Putting a gun to someone's head and demanding charity only breeds resentment.
Asserting your right to your own property is not the same as being selfish. Asserting your right to another man's property is selfish.
Don't buy into the propaganda. Welfare is not true charity. It's used to buy votes for the democrats. Charity should bring love and understanding. This form of government "charity" is dividing the people.
"No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money."
1:14 damn straight cenk! we shouldnt be teaching our kids to value their lives and interests above others! we need to teach them that a lifetime of servitude for their fellow man is truly the virtuous path!
I wonder how a society they envision would keep a standing army since I don't think people would want to defend others that don't give a shit about them and wouldn't help if needed. I sure wouldn't volunteer for that.
.
America used to have the mantra "We're all in this together!", but now it's "FUCK YOU!"
The teabaggers want to divide the union so they can spend all day teabagging each other until the nation becomes a hellish corporate plutocracy. In this nightmarish crapsack world that they want, the debt slaves toil day and night to feed the beast that devours their suffering. These fools think that they will succeed in this system, but they will realize that they are nothing but mere lapdogs and playthings of the corporate demon-beast. OOOooooOoo
I think a better exercise would be to give one kid a giant 5 gallon jug of bubbles, a couple kids midsize bottles of bubbles and then give everyone else in the class nothing. And see what the majority does.
Because clearly the class is happy blowing bubbles by themselves because the socialist teacher gave everybody an equal amount of bubbles.
Why do human beings continuously feel the need to brainwash children into their own belief systems? Cenk makes a joke of it here but actually I think this is pretty sick, just like Jesus Camp.
@CesarManiaX When you give money to the Rich its call solidifying another term. All the politicians care about is their seat, and as long as they have their seat in government where they can live a double standard they are happy.
@chickenppox Yes, it is what came of it that I hate; trail of tears, manifest destiny, etc. The document itself was golden in terms of keeping colonies from europe from forming in the Americas. At least that was my understanding of it, not going to lie it has been a very long time since I have read the history behind it. I became more concerned with what came of it as aposed to its desired affect.
Or you could just send your kid to summer school. It would be more useful and chances are they will hate you just as much for ruining summer vacation. Oh wait, schools are liberal. How about this then, stop being lazy and teach your kid yourself. It's nothing but a bunch of concepts anyway.
Well, the parents sending their kids to this camp know what it's about: they're probably hard-on Republicans too, and it's a private business, so while it seems like a pretty ridiculous camp, I don't think it'll turn a little kid into a Republican: his/her parent will with or without the camp.
I don't agree with what your school is doing, it's not the job of public schools to promote any economic or political system. You will always get teachers here and there who do that sort of thing, but do you really think that it's any different in private schools?
Also, it's not correct to equate progressivism with anti-capitalism.
@sdrawkcabgnipytmi It will be different in a private system becouse we as costumers will have a lot more power over our own education. We won't get forced to pay for a school we don't like. And the school will answer to us and not the government. Why would teachers be anything other then leftists when they get all there benefits from the government and not us as independent costumers?
Private schools cost a shit load of money. I know, I went to one. If you eliminate public schools, the demand for private schools will skyrocket and so will the prices. You'd end up with a situation where the population is largely uneducated and that is a great way to ruin a country. Eliminating public schools is probably the single stupidest thing any country could possibly do.
@sdrawkcabgnipytmi The reason why the price is so high is becouse there are so few private schools and the demand for them are so high. If all schools were private that wouldn't be the case. Unless all the schools was owned by the same company, wich is impossible in a free marked.
Another reason for the high prices we have today is the fact that you actually have to pay for TWO schools. You still have to pay for the public school through taxes even tho you only use the private.
@RTEvideos "Unless all the schools was owned by the same company, wich is impossible in a free marked."
Suggesting that a monopoly is impossible in a free market? Oh boy...
"Another reason for the high prices we have today is the fact that you actually have to pay for TWO schools."
Tuition for decent private schools is high. You're not paying the full tuition for a public school out of your own pocket. You're actually paying like 1-10% of what the tuition actually is depending on your income.
@sc0pl355 A monopoly on SCHOOLS would be impossible. Can you imagine one company actually buying all the schools in the country before they go personal bankrupt? And why would everybody sell there schools to them? And whats stopping people from making new schools, if not the government? Now if I made an teleporter I would have monopoly on teleporterts but thats not quite the same thing.
Even tho you only pay 1-10% of the tuition directly, you still have to pay for it some way. Nothing is free.
@sdrawkcabgnipytmi Yes. Becouse there will be competition. And it's not fair that the teachers salary shall depend upon wich deal they will be able to make with the government. The best teachers deserves the biggest salerys. We need to promote good teaching by rewarding good teaching. People pay more for the best schools, so all the schools will have to improve.
If you want to learn more about the school system from a free-market point of view I recommend this: watch?v=Bx4pN-aiofw
WTF is going on with these Republican Tea Party members!? First they get on to Middle Eastern Muslims for putting children in propaganda schools, then they turn around and do the same thing. Does their shame know no bounds? And teaching kids to be selfish at such a young age is horrible.
@mictheorist Because they aren't just learning about it. Did you even watch the video? They are deliberately pushing nationalism on children in a way they won't even understand. The kids will go into a dull room which is called Europe, and then through an obstacle course they find themselves in a fun confetti-filled room called America. This teaches nothing about liberty, free markets, and limited government. It is just instilling blind, jingoistic, nationalism, with no explanation.
Um using a shady company like goldline to debunk gold which has been money for 6,000 years is a joke of an arguement Gold is retains its value paper money doesnt. Its called history
It's not insanity-it's brainwashing. Hitler tried this, and was vilified for it. Conservatives try it, and they defend it. What is WRONG with conservatives that they can't see the parallels between the Nazis party and their own. Side by side, it's almost a play by play. Read a history book already.
Well WW3 is coming and I'm glad I'm ready for it. I'm sure after the government cuts off all the welfare, we'll have non-stop riots. It's too TYT are pacifists and want to hand over everything they own. So when the war happens, they'll be defenseless and broke. Epic fail.... Liberals FTL!
@CDPuffer LOL I know, I went over board with my post. It just makes me pissed off how Cenk is so blind to see the good things that a group activity will teach youngsters. Like Bill Clinton and Weiner are good "role models" for kids. I'm just sick of the biased reporting. It's bad enough to hear it on Fox, but I keep hearing Liberals are more open-minded and yet I fail to see it. This country is fucking doomed. ; ;
@shadowedge69 I think the reason is we have been bullied and lied about so much by the right wing. It's about time we throw fire back at those fucking sickening right wing liars. If you can't handle it, don't pay attention to politics.
What's wrong with teaching kids self-reliance and economics? You scoff at them teaching about the perils of fiat money?
It's too bad that some liberals see self-reliance as selfishness, I know of many people who embrace it for typically "liberal" causes like the environment and energy independence.
@Amy31415 They aren't teaching them self-reliance and economics. They're teaching them one economic theory only (laissez-faire capitalism), any coverage of Keynesianism, Marxism, Monetarism, Social Democracy, etc. will be skewed. Sending kids to a dull room which represents Europe, through an obstacle course to a confetti-filled room which represents America, isn't teaching them anything. It's blind, mindless, nationalist indoctrination that has nothing to do with reality.
If you want to teach your kid Marxism, have at it. Keynesianism is a failed economic policy, so coverage of it should be terrible, if the teachers are any good.
I don't agree with nationalism either, but if they're teaching the Constitution /Declaration of Independence etc, that's fantastic. Kids should know their rights along with the philosophical underpinnings of them.
That said, I'll reserve my judgment until I see a curriculum and meet the teachers.
@Amy31415 There's a reason why nobody has a laissez faire economy in this day and age. I don't think ANYONE is interested in living in some kind hellish corporate serfdom where they live and die in WESAYSO owned towns, their entire family has to work 18 hour days in WESAYSO mines, WESAYSO sweatshops and their wives and daughters must lay, daily, with wealthy, yet piggish and greasy, WESAYSO executives, in WESAYSO brothels and massage parlors for 5 WESAYSO credits an hour.
If you don't understand the difference between crony capitalism and genuine capitalism, I can't help you.
I believe in freedom and I don't trust anyone, government or otherwise to arbitrarily dictate to me how I should live my life. You do--we'll never agree on that because I'm not a dumbass.
@Amy31415 "If you don't understand the difference between crony capitalism and genuine capitalism, I can't help you."
There is no difference. Remove the regulations and you open the floodgates up for a new era of corporate serfdom to spread across the nation. It happened before and it will happen again.
Also, I don't believe in telling people how to live beyond telling them to contribute to society and obey the same laws that everyone else has to or leave and go to somalia.
Ahh, the old "Somalia" argument for when you don't have a real argument. Your way leads to people being forced to support a warfare state like we have right now...that's a fantastic way to live. Forced "philanthropy" is not philanthropy. I will contribute to society on a local level, doing so on a Federal level just invites sociopaths to take over--and the current state proves me right.
@Amy31415 Funny, I thought you would love life in Somalia. No 'government' taxing you. No 'regulations' telling you what to do. Sounds like your idea of paradise.
"Your way leads to people being forced to support a warfare state like we have right now"
You can always leave.
"Forced "philanthropy" is not philanthropy. "
Funny, I never used the word philanthropy. I said contribute.
Also, you can shove your local level crap. The founders established the federal government for a reason.
Yeah, perhaps you ought to read the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence to find out what the Federal government is **allowed** to do. It's quite limited, doofus.
You think the gov't sets value on products, man you are downright dumb. No wonder the gov't is so enormous--it's to take care of dullards like yourself and use your kind as cannon fodder.
@Amy31415 "Yeah, perhaps you ought to read the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence to find out what the Federal government is **allowed** to do. "
It's allowed to collect taxes.
*Section. 8.The Congress shall have Power To lay and collect Taxes, Duties, Imposts and Excises, to pay the Debts and provide for the common Defence and general Welfare of the United States; but all Duties, Imposts and Excises shall be uniform throughout the United States;*
And where does it say that it owns my labor via income taxes? You do realize that income taxes were deemed unconstitutional for quite a long while, right? And that the collection of income taxes was supposed to be temporary, due to extraordinary need--despite the fact that they're unconstitutional.
You really need to read more, and stop promoting theft for your love of warfare.
@Amy31415 "You need to read more, especially on the 16th amendment and the Constitution"
Here it is: The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes on INCOMES, from whatever source derived, without apportionment among the several States, and without regard to any census or enumeration.
"the philosophy of freedom."
Freedom isn't free. You have four choices. Live with it. don't pay. raise arms or leave. Pick one.
@Amy31415 "You think the gov't sets value on products"
No, jackass. I KNOW the government gives MONEY value. There is a difference between setting value on a product and giving MONEY, which is NOT a product, value, dummy.
The government is also the entity that makes it possible for you to really own property.
If you think that the gov't gives me the right to property that I've earned, you have zero understanding of the philosophy underlying the Constitution and natural rights. You flaming moron.
@Amy31415 "If you think that the gov't gives me the right to property that I've earned"
I said that the government makes it possible for you to really own property, you twit.
Let's say you 'own' a house, but there's no government around to PROTECT your rights to your property. Why would I be obligated to respect your borders in any way, shape or form. You say you own it, but I'm under no obligation to respect that and can just start building stuff on it with force of arms if need be.
@Amy31415 "You also need to read up on the 2nd Amendment along with local gov't vs. Federal"
Good, then pick up your arms and die on the battlefield if you think the second amendment has ANYTHING to do with taxes.
The founding fathers fought over taxation without representation. Your whiny-ass has representation. If you don't like the way things are, you have four options. Live with it. don't pay. raise arms or leave.
@Amy31415 Youre right about one point. Income tax was originally intended temporary. But there isnt any legal document that makes it temorary. And sc0pl is right. The 16th Amendment beats the living shit out of your talking points. He hasnt lost anything. I read a few. If I was ref I would stop the game due to the mercy rule. You need it. Sc0pl is absolutely right. Gov creates laws. Such as property laws. Due to gov enforcement of these laws you get to have your own house. 2nd Amendment? Where?
@Amy31415 I don't think you understand the concept of objectivity. You should expose your children to as many different philosophies as possible and encourage them to draw their own conclusions as to what they agree with and what they don't, rather than forcing your opinion that all other economic systems suck but Capitalism. Saying you think Keynesianism is terrible so coverage of it should be terrible is hilarious. If it's so bad don't you think your child will be able to detect that? ...Or
I have no issue with my children learning anything, even things I disagree with, because I fully expect that my daughter will be even smarter than me.
However, for you to say that enslaving people financially has an upside is absolutely asinine--and you are saying that. And yes, any economic theory that promotes theft on a mass scale is atrocious. The government steals from people using this method.
You are not being enslaved financially. The government is the entity that recognizes and enforces the notion that money has value, that you own property and that you have rights and protection under the law. Your powdered ass would be up shit creek if the government didn't exist to recognize and enforce those three things. How are they stealing money from you when they are the ones that give money value to begin with?
Actually, you're wrong. The gov't isn't what gives things value, that's asinine. We, the consumers are what gives things value, and when gov't places artificial value on things and manipulates markets, that's when you have economic bubbles.
God damn, you're either remarkably stupid or very brainwashed.
@Amy31415 "he gov't isn't what gives things value"
Let's see. Who prints the money and declares it legal tender for all debts both public and private? I could have sworn it was the government. What is the money without the government to back it? Worthless cotton paper.
"the consumers are what gives things value"
Actually, no. If that were the case, then we'd still be completely on the barter system. Yeah, look at you, all full of sound and fury, Signifying nothing.
Hey doofus--read what the Constitution qualifies as money.
Some bullshit about gold and silver, right? Here's a quote: [No State shall ...] make any Thing but gold and silver Coin a Tender in Payment of Debts; ..
I haven't come across many people nearly as daft as you are.
@Amy31415 "[No State shall ...] make any Thing but gold and silver Coin a Tender in Payment of Debts; ."
Yeah, that's talking about individual states. Not the federal government. For instance, when the confederates made their own paper money, they were in violation of the union.
@Amy31415 ...do you think that your kid is so stupid that you need to skew everything other than your point of view to make sure they draw the same conclusions you did? What does that say about how legitimate your opinions are, that you feel you have to mislead people in order for them to agree with you? Social Democracy works exceedingly well in countries that have it, you can't just lie and tell your kids "Europe sucks and is really boring, America is better." That has nothing to do with...
@Amy31415 ...anything, it's just blind allegiance based on absolutely no facts. It's like when religious people don't want to tell their children about Atheism or any other religion. What does it say about your religion that you think if you expose your kids to other faiths they will stop believing yours? I'm not saying you are or aren't religious, I'm saying it's the same kind of broken thinking that discourages critical thinking and individuality. Ironic that you think somehow this...
@Amy31415 I specified, "I'm not saying you are or aren't religious, I'm saying it's the same kind of broken thinking that discourages critical thinking and individuality." Do you understand what that means? I never said you were religious. I specifically made that statement. I specified that I was not saying you're religious. And you're calling me a dumbass? You don't even understand basic English apparently, and are ill-equipped to respond to any of the actual points I made. Awesome.
i don't agree with the way that these people are going about it, but i see what they are trying to achieve. it is more towards self-reliance, not selfishness, and unless i am mistaken, that is something this country is sorely in need of
Sure, the problem is that people on the libertarian side like to argue against stalin and people on the socialist side like to argue against glen beck, the problem is that normal people are not like that, honestly, it's just too damned easy to poke holes in the tea party, if he had any balls at all he'd be bringing points against serious, academic libertarians with Kantian, Objectivist or Constitutionally rooted philosophy.
@Teremei Indoctrination? Like, the overwhelming correlation between liberal groups and obesity? Like teaching your kids to be air-conditioned clerks, for whom nature is just a snarky bumper sticker? Or indoctrination, such as forcing your perverted environmental beliefs on your children, which are really just consumer values?
I hope to teach my kids how to gut a deer and prance around with it on their head. Did me right.
@thereinliestherib uh....the forced indoctrination of children? let's start with that. i don't like that. say whatever you like about tp 'values', the fact is, they're taking kids who have no way to defend themselves, and teaching them retarded ass shit.
@iconografer So what. Anything you teach your kids is reducible to "indoctrination" if you don't happen to believe in it. That's what's so patronizing about liberals--to them, their indoctrination doesn't count, because its "superior," and everyone else is just a rube. Which worked great for the Nazi's, but not for massive govt deficits, inefficient social programs, disintegrating social responsibility, obesity...
@thereinliestherib Agree completely. Cenk and Ana are proud to be atheists and they knock Christianity every chance they can. Why it is wrong to believe in God? I'm growing tired of TYT's rhetoric.
@shadowedge69 I am agnostic and even I find TYTs constant badgering of religion tiresome. I think the real problem is they paint all Christians a certain way when they should say "These people arent Christian. Theyre hypocrites. True Christians are not hypocrites." Instead they put them as the same category as the rest. At least thats the way I see it. If youre a actual Christian then youre going to do what Christ said. If you dont do what Christ said then you arent Christian (in my opinion).
@UncontestedTruth All Christians are hypocrites, unfortunately. I've never met one that wasn't. Except Westboro Baptist Church. They are the true Christians. You can tell me they don't know the love of Christ or some other bullshit, but the reality is you don't know what's in that Bible of yours. Read it. They are living it out. Sorry.
@watermelonygoodness What? If youre a hypocrite then you arent "living it [the Bible] out." Theres a slight contradiction in phrasing thats throwing me off. The Westboro Baptist Church are not true Christians. They go around condemning everyone and judging everyone. No offense but it seems youre the one that doesnt know the Bible.
@shadowedge69 its not wrong to believe in god..its what you do with that belief that is looked upon...and in all seriousness too many horrible things are done wrong under the name of god
@shadowedge69 It isn't wrong. What's wrong is browbeating others with your dogma. Using YOUR faith to make policy for all others, and penalizing those who don't agree with you. Not every faith does this, but Christianity and Islam are among the worse that do. Sadly, those few individuals that don't do these things are largely overshadowed by those who do. In defense, the dogmas are beaten down at every opportunity to limit their already considerable influence.
@corbinmichael123 This may sound naive to you, but if you have faith, I mean real faith in God, there is no other way to live life. The dogmas are beaten down by atheists which are controlled by Satan. I'm fairly certain you don't accept my reasoning here. You can't argue fundamental policies with someone who doesn't have faith in anything. The word of God is supposed to be preached, but you got the message wrong. I'm sick of a few bad apples that use radical beliefs to be considered the norm.
@thereinliestherib wrong. i've spent 20 yrs teaching, not a single day of it indoctrination. sorry, you'd like to think facts are indoctrination, but indoctrination is only necessary when you're teaching lies-which is what conservatives tend to learn, esp. the homeschooled ones. ie: creationism, how reaganomics works, how the founding fathers were xtians...all lies, all examples of indoctrination. e=mc2? fact. the earth is older than 6,000yrs? fact<~~see the difference? probly not...
@iconografer Holy shit, you're a teacher and an atheist?? There's a contradiction in terms. What's your education? An AA/certificate right? Because a real teacher would understand that as many limitations as there are with Christianity, there are many more inconsistencies with regard to atheism (now an organized hate group of disaffected liberals). Hilarious. "God doesn't exist! And absence of evidence is evidence of absence!"
@thereinliestherib you can attack my actual education all you like, but the fact is i have a master's degree. a certificate? that's some fundie shit-perhaps where UR from that's acceptable, and the fact remains that whatever U want to believe, this isn't about me-when you don't have an argument at all regarding something like, say, childhood indoctrination, you try and attack the person who's saying you have no argument. Still waiting for a rational response regarding the actual argument.......
@iconografer I didn't attack the person; I attacked the credentials of someone who espouses the pseudo-philosophy of atheism. As someone with cred's myself, in my experience its not at all surprising that a hypocrite like yourself got through the academic ranks, usually based on ideology. You decry indoctrination, then apply your own different kind of indoctrination. And when someone calls you on it, you deploy straw men, assuming I'm a christian---which is blatant bigotry.
@thereinliestherib 'with creds yourself'? really. right. you're deluded. and you're a christian bigot. and using big words won't save you. i'm fairly certain i know more big words than you-having graduated from college seems to help w/that. you might wanna check that out...hehehehehe...and you're still attacking me, and have said absolutely nothing about indoctrination, either generally, or in the specific case of children...yer lips are movin' hoss, butcha ain't sayin' nuffin!
Atheism is the lack of belief in the existence of gods or spirits. Atheists don't believe in gods because they can't see, hear or touch gods. There is no inconsistency in not believing in something that can not be demonstrably proven or verified to exist.
Christians believe in one invisible being that can not be seen, heard or touched over OTHER invisible beings with the same qualities.
You can not say that Atheism has as many inconsistencies as christianity.
@sc0pl355 Oh boy, here we go... and affirming a negative isn't as ludicrously dogmatic as affirming a priori positives. Uh huh... sure. So you hate christians. That's all it really boils down to, because village atheism is the laughing stock of REAL philosophical discourse.
I don't hate real christians. I believe that most of the people that claim to be christian are not christians.
If you were a christian, you would never say the things you said. You would never have a problem with paying your taxes or have a problem with contributing to a system that helps the poor. If you were a true christian, you wouldn't care about money at all. If the government asked for 1 dollar to help the poor, a real christian would give 2.
@thereinliestherib and if you feel patronized, take some personal fucking responsibility-that you're too stupid to understand is a function of you not bothering to actually do any fucking research. conservatives are all about "personal responsibility" unitl it comes to blaming their joblessness on immigrants, their shitty trailer parks on hispanics and blacks, or their wives leaving them on the horrible coloreds 'stealin' ur wives...
@thereinliestherib and the fact is, it's xtians with indoctrination camps, innit? you don't have to indoctrinate facts. #1 reported reason for fundies becoming atheists: they read the bible. that's not a coincidence. if you don't want to be considered a 'rube', go to school, read a book, fact check shit...if you don't, or if you let your conservative brethren talk w/nothing to back up their crapt, don't complain if ur treated like you don't know anything-you don't.
@iconografer HA! You mean fundamentalist christians, turned fundamentalist atheists, right? Because nothing they say has any academic or philosophical standing in fact or logic. All you've just acknowledged is that you err to respond to teachings of hate, with teachings of a different kind of politically motivated hate. No wonder this country is so socially effed up!
You laugh Cenk, but I find it disgusting. It's nothing short of indoctrination, pure and simple, as I'm well aware everyone will agree with. It's horrendous that anyone in their right mind would ever put their innocent little children through something like that. No, it doesn't physically harm them, but how is a little kid supposed to be critical about something like that when it's forcefed so zealously?
You know it's a messed up world when a children's camp claiming to be for the for the 'religious right' is applauded for teaching the most un christian values imaginable
Well, they have to teach kids how important gold is so that when gold is made illegal the way it was in the 1930's more people will lose all of their money once it happens...!
Way to teach our kids, guys...way to teach our kids.... :S
Republicans screamed bloody murder when Obama conducted a national broadcast to school kids telling them of the value of staying in school. They accused Obama of trying to indoctrinate them into some socialist agenda. BUT its ok when conservatives do it? When will the MSM have the guts to call the Republicans on their hypocrisy?
The pot calling the kettle black. Like Cenk said, "THIS, is indoctrinating the kids." There's an old saying, "the finger that points, has 3 more fingers pointing right back at them"; meaning that those who accuse are just projecting their own faulty & questionable character onto someone else. The Republicans are endlessly trying to accuse Obama of exactly what they're doing.., indoctrinating the American youth. SMH

Is a man not entitled to the sweat of his brow?
No, says the man in Washington; it belongs to the poor.
No, says the man in the Vatican; it belongs to God.
No, says the man in Moscow; it belongs to everyone.
I rejected those answers. Instead, I chose something
different. I chose the impossible. I chose...

@bonemailtanks The government isn't forcing you to be charitable. You are contributing to your nation and it is the GOVERNMENT that is using a portion of your contribution to aid your fellow american.
If you don't want to contribute, then leave. You may as well be an illegal immigrant.
sc0pl355 8 months ago
Charity should be done out of love for the fellow man. Putting a gun to someone's head and demanding charity only breeds resentment.
Asserting your right to your own property is not the same as being selfish. Asserting your right to another man's property is selfish.
Don't buy into the propaganda. Welfare is not true charity. It's used to buy votes for the democrats. Charity should bring love and understanding. This form of government "charity" is dividing the people.

@studybox "Putting a gun to someone's head and demanding charity only breeds resentment."
Nobody put a gun to your head. These arguments are silly.
"Asserting your right to your own property is not the same as being selfish"
You are obligated in our society to contribute to the public. If you don't like that, then leave.
"It's used to buy votes for the democrats."
You're out of your mind. Democrats have done more to reform and cut back on welfare than the republicans.w

@sc0pl355 "Nobody put a gun to your head. These arguments are silly."
What happens if you don't pay your taxes?
"You are obligated in our society to contribute to the public. "

1) Money to buy the school building and hire teachers.

paying 1-10% is way less than paying 100%. That's the point.

Because clearly the class is happy blowing bubbles by themselves because the socialist teacher gave everybody an equal amount of bubbles.

I don't agree with what your school is doing, it's not the job of public schools to promote any economic or political system. You will always get teachers here and there who do that sort of thing, but do you really think that it's any different in private schools?
Also, it's not correct to equate progressivism with anti-capitalism.
sdrawkcabgnipytmi 8 months ago
@sdrawkcabgnipytmi It will be different in a private system becouse we as costumers will have a lot more power over our own education. We won't get forced to pay for a school we don't like. And the school will answer to us and not the government. Why would teachers be anything other then leftists when they get all there benefits from the government and not us as independent costumers?
RTEvideos 8 months ago
@RTEvideos
Private schools cost a shit load of money. I know, I went to one. If you eliminate public schools, the demand for private schools will skyrocket and so will the prices. You'd end up with a situation where the population is largely uneducated and that is a great way to ruin a country. Eliminating public schools is probably the single stupidest thing any country could possibly do.
sdrawkcabgnipytmi 8 months ago
@sdrawkcabgnipytmi The reason why the price is so high is becouse there are so few private schools and the demand for them are so high. If all schools were private that wouldn't be the case. Unless all the schools was owned by the same company, wich is impossible in a free marked.
Another reason for the high prices we have today is the fact that you actually have to pay for TWO schools. You still have to pay for the public school through taxes even tho you only use the private.
RTEvideos 8 months ago
@RTEvideos "Unless all the schools was owned by the same company, wich is impossible in a free marked."
Suggesting that a monopoly is impossible in a free market? Oh boy...
"Another reason for the high prices we have today is the fact that you actually have to pay for TWO schools."
Tuition for decent private schools is high. You're not paying the full tuition for a public school out of your own pocket. You're actually paying like 1-10% of what the tuition actually is depending on your income.
sc0pl355 8 months ago
@sc0pl355 A monopoly on SCHOOLS would be impossible. Can you imagine one company actually buying all the schools in the country before they go personal bankrupt? And why would everybody sell there schools to them? And whats stopping people from making new schools, if not the government? Now if I made an teleporter I would have monopoly on teleporterts but thats not quite the same thing.
Even tho you only pay 1-10% of the tuition directly, you still have to pay for it some way. Nothing is free.

sdrawkcabgnipytmi 8 months ago
@sdrawkcabgnipytmi Yes. Becouse there will be competition. And it's not fair that the teachers salary shall depend upon wich deal they will be able to make with the government. The best teachers deserves the biggest salerys. We need to promote good teaching by rewarding good teaching. People pay more for the best schools, so all the schools will have to improve.

It's too bad that some liberals see self-reliance as selfishness, I know of many people who embrace it for typically "liberal" causes like the environment and energy independence.
Amy31415 8 months ago
@Amy31415 They aren't teaching them self-reliance and economics. They're teaching them one economic theory only (laissez-faire capitalism), any coverage of Keynesianism, Marxism, Monetarism, Social Democracy, etc. will be skewed. Sending kids to a dull room which represents Europe, through an obstacle course to a confetti-filled room which represents America, isn't teaching them anything. It's blind, mindless, nationalist indoctrination that has nothing to do with reality.
watermelonygoodness 8 months ago

If you want to teach your kid Marxism, have at it. Keynesianism is a failed economic policy, so coverage of it should be terrible, if the teachers are any good.
I don't agree with nationalism either, but if they're teaching the Constitution /Declaration of Independence etc, that's fantastic. Kids should know their rights along with the philosophical underpinnings of them.
That said, I'll reserve my judgment until I see a curriculum and meet the teachers.

That's what's so patronizing about liberals--to them, their indoctrination doesn't count, because its "superior," and everyone else is just a rube. Which worked great for the Nazi's, but not for massive govt deficits, inefficient social programs, disintegrating social responsibility, obesity...
thereinliestherib 8 months ago
@thereinliestherib Agree completely. Cenk and Ana are proud to be atheists and they knock Christianity every chance they can. Why it is wrong to believe in God? I'm growing tired of TYT's rhetoric.
shadowedge69 8 months ago
@shadowedge69 I am agnostic and even I find TYTs constant badgering of religion tiresome. I think the real problem is they paint all Christians a certain way when they should say "These people arent Christian. Theyre hypocrites. True Christians are not hypocrites." Instead they put them as the same category as the rest. At least thats the way I see it. If youre a actual Christian then youre going to do what Christ said. If you dont do what Christ said then you arent Christian (in my opinion).
UncontestedTruth 8 months ago
@UncontestedTruth All Christians are hypocrites, unfortunately. I've never met one that wasn't. Except Westboro Baptist Church. They are the true Christians. You can tell me they don't know the love of Christ or some other bullshit, but the reality is you don't know what's in that Bible of yours. Read it. They are living it out. Sorry.

@watermelonygoodness what does that have to do with this video?
boomboomskidskid 8 months ago
@watermelonygoodness What? If youre a hypocrite then you arent "living it [the Bible] out." Theres a slight contradiction in phrasing thats throwing me off. The Westboro Baptist Church are not true Christians. They go around condemning everyone and judging everyone. No offense but it seems youre the one that doesnt know the Bible.

@shadowedge69 its not wrong to believe in god..its what you do with that belief that is looked upon...and in all seriousness too many horrible things are done wrong under the name of god
linkz101 8 months ago
@shadowedge69 It isn't wrong. What's wrong is browbeating others with your dogma. Using YOUR faith to make policy for all others, and penalizing those who don't agree with you. Not every faith does this, but Christianity and Islam are among the worse that do. Sadly, those few individuals that don't do these things are largely overshadowed by those who do. In defense, the dogmas are beaten down at every opportunity to limit their already considerable influence.
corbinmichael123 8 months ago
@corbinmichael123 This may sound naive to you, but if you have faith, I mean real faith in God, there is no other way to live life. The dogmas are beaten down by atheists which are controlled by Satan. I'm fairly certain you don't accept my reasoning here. You can't argue fundamental policies with someone who doesn't have faith in anything. The word of God is supposed to be preached, but you got the message wrong. I'm sick of a few bad apples that use radical beliefs to be considered the norm.
shadowedge69 8 months ago
@thereinliestherib wrong. i've spent 20 yrs teaching, not a single day of it indoctrination. sorry, you'd like to think facts are indoctrination, but indoctrination is only necessary when you're teaching lies-which is what conservatives tend to learn, esp. the homeschooled ones. ie: creationism, how reaganomics works, how the founding fathers were xtians...all lies, all examples of indoctrination. e=mc2? fact. the earth is older than 6,000yrs? fact<~~see the difference? probly not...
iconografer 8 months ago
@iconografer Holy shit, you're a teacher and an atheist?? There's a contradiction in terms. What's your education? An AA/certificate right? Because a real teacher would understand that as many limitations as there are with Christianity, there are many more inconsistencies with regard to atheism (now an organized hate group of disaffected liberals). Hilarious. "God doesn't exist! And absence of evidence is evidence of absence!"
thereinliestherib 8 months ago
@thereinliestherib you can attack my actual education all you like, but the fact is i have a master's degree. a certificate? that's some fundie shit-perhaps where UR from that's acceptable, and the fact remains that whatever U want to believe, this isn't about me-when you don't have an argument at all regarding something like, say, childhood indoctrination, you try and attack the person who's saying you have no argument. Still waiting for a rational response regarding the actual argument.......
iconografer 8 months ago
@iconografer I didn't attack the person; I attacked the credentials of someone who espouses the pseudo-philosophy of atheism. As someone with cred's myself, in my experience its not at all surprising that a hypocrite like yourself got through the academic ranks, usually based on ideology. You decry indoctrination, then apply your own different kind of indoctrination. And when someone calls you on it, you deploy straw men, assuming I'm a christian---which is blatant bigotry.
thereinliestherib 8 months ago
@thereinliestherib 'with creds yourself'? really. right. you're deluded. and you're a christian bigot. and using big words won't save you. i'm fairly certain i know more big words than you-having graduated from college seems to help w/that. you might wanna check that out...hehehehehe...and you're still attacking me, and have said absolutely nothing about indoctrination, either generally, or in the specific case of children...yer lips are movin' hoss, butcha ain't sayin' nuffin!
iconografer 8 months ago
@thereinliestherib
You can not say that Atheism has as many inconsistencies as christianity.
sc0pl355 8 months ago
@sc0pl355 Oh boy, here we go... and affirming a negative isn't as ludicrously dogmatic as affirming a priori positives. Uh huh... sure. So you hate christians. That's all it really boils down to, because village atheism is the laughing stock of REAL philosophical discourse.
thereinliestherib 8 months ago
@thereinliestherib "So you hate christians."
If the government asked for 1 dollar to help the poor, a real christian would give 2.
sc0pl355 8 months ago 2
@thereinliestherib and if you feel patronized, take some personal fucking responsibility-that you're too stupid to understand is a function of you not bothering to actually do any fucking research. conservatives are all about "personal responsibility" unitl it comes to blaming their joblessness on immigrants, their shitty trailer parks on hispanics and blacks, or their wives leaving them on the horrible coloreds 'stealin' ur wives...
iconografer 8 months ago
@thereinliestherib and the fact is, it's xtians with indoctrination camps, innit? you don't have to indoctrinate facts. #1 reported reason for fundies becoming atheists: they read the bible. that's not a coincidence. if you don't want to be considered a 'rube', go to school, read a book, fact check shit...if you don't, or if you let your conservative brethren talk w/nothing to back up their crapt, don't complain if ur treated like you don't know anything-you don't.
iconografer 8 months ago
@iconografer HA! You mean fundamentalist christians, turned fundamentalist atheists, right? Because nothing they say has any academic or philosophical standing in fact or logic. All you've just acknowledged is that you err to respond to teachings of hate, with teachings of a different kind of politically motivated hate. No wonder this country is so socially effed up!

Sounds like a fun camp. Do the boys and girls share cabins.
I used to score like a mofo at summer camp

You laugh Cenk, but I find it disgusting. It's nothing short of indoctrination, pure and simple, as I'm well aware everyone will agree with. It's horrendous that anyone in their right mind would ever put their innocent little children through something like that. No, it doesn't physically harm them, but how is a little kid supposed to be critical about something like that when it's forcefed so zealously?
I feel sick to my stomach.
