  • I remember this song and again it got little or no airplay in upstate N.Y. What' s wrong with the radio today? ;( The syndication sucks. Every city has the same music for the most part. Nashville radio is terrible. The sort of good station says they're playing new music, it's 10 years old. Go figure???!!!

  • It was huge in Milw. in '81-'82, never to be heard again. Too bad...

  • I dunno if it is "Cinnamon Girl" -the tempo is a bit slower in the intro, but the progressions are very similar.

"My Sweet Lord" vs. "He's so Fine" yeah?

  • walsh sure is ugly but his music is kick ass

  • I like Joe's music! The bass line in this track is just good!

  • God I love this song!

  • THANK YOU!!!! I've been searching for this song for Y.E.A.R.S!

  • love the bass in this song. all of joe walsh's records were great.

  • it sounds like Niel so much cause it's the same melody in the chorus as Cinnamon girl...just sing those lyrics with this chorus and bam, there ya' go.

  • This song sounds so much like Neil Young. I can't beleve he didnt write it. The reprise particularly reeks of Neil.

  • @leonakita I saw Neil Young at Blossom Music Center in NE Ohio and Joe Walsh came out for the encore Tonights the Night and they rocked the house! Must have been around 1985 or so.

  • phx too

  • Nice slideshow!

  • It's weird...all these pictures of Walsh and it's Don Felder's song and almost all of his guitar tracks. It was Joe Walsh's album but that's not why I bought it. Felder completely arranged this song and wrote the lyrics too.

  • The BOMBER! :o)

  • Outstanding tune! Summer of '81

  • Great Song!!! Love Joe Walsh!!!

  • This definitely sounds like it could have been used in an episode of Miami Vice

  • This is the last song on the album, if I recall. I didn't know Don Felder wrote it. You can tell they were writing it for the Eagles to do. Shame they didn't. The groove really kicks in the last half.

  • Joe Walsh and Felder wrote this for the Long Run. Felder is on this track playing the talk box guitar. Bobby Mayo from Peter Frampton's band is playing the 12 string on it too...

  • Don Felder also played on "You Never Know" playing dual lead guitars on that track. This song and "Told You So" on Walsh's You Bought It You Name It in 1983 were intended for The Long Run but Henley and Frey rejected those two. If you hear The Long Run Leftovers on the Selected Works box set of The Eagles you can hear embryonic versions of these two kick ass rockers. Also this song was the last song on Side 1 (You Never Know (which Felder also appears) closed the album).

  • kicks ass 30 years later and beyond!

  • awesome solo joe walsh lp & song!!!!!

  • This is a Don Felder song for the Long Run--that Azoff was able to get for Joe Walsh's album. This is a really cool song- its too bad it did not make the Eagle's record it would have sounded great with their harmonies.

I could see why Felder was pissed off at Frey for not including more of his songs on the album, this one certainly beats Teenage Jail and The Greeks Don't Want No Freaks.

  • joe on groovy overload here

always like the walsh/felder combo thingy too

    thnx 4 the tube

  • Beautiful Video, Great Tribute to Joe and This Terrific Song, thanks!

  • My favorite Joe solo album hands down then But Seriously Folks. This does sound like an eagles song that didnt make the cut.

  • absolute Killer cut from good old Joe....

  • This song always struck me as such a clever ending - Walsh and Felder start to solo against each other, while they are fading out..leaving the feeling that a private conversation is taking place, I'd love to see this live with Felder there!

  • ]***Joe Walsh is great. I've become a Joe-a-holic. A Joe Junkie. Why is Joe so great...because Joe Walsh is Great. Period. I don't even know how I got this way. But there it is. What Do I Know Anyway...Oh, yea, Ah...Joe Walsh is great.

  • bobby mayo from peter framptons band is playing the 12 string guitar on this.

  • JOE IS ONE OF THE BEST THINGS THAT EVER CAME INTO MY LIFE ALL THESE YEARS!! JOE RULES!! Thanks for making me SO HAPPY JOE...

I got your autograph picture above my desk (JOE gimme a call some day...my son would TOTALLY FREAK)

  • Ah....this brings back some "mammaries"! Joe is so Bahad AhhhSSS! There are some real gems on There Goes the Nbhood and But Seriously Folks. And diss iz one of dem!

"My name is Joe....but my friends call me Collect"

  • I am a fairly hardcore eagles fan, and I have never heard of this song until now, it was a song that was supposed to be on the Long Run album.

  • sounds like randy meisner at the end

  • It was written for the album but left off after The Eagles scrapped plans to do a double album with The Long Run (mainly due to the recession the US was in back in 1979 but no one told either Fleetwood Mac or Pink Floyd not to release double albums then). You hear an embryonic snippet as part of "Long Run Leftovers" on the 2000 Selected Works Box Set. Don Felder plays guitar on this track and the album closer "You Never Know" which sees some superb guitar duel work from Felder and Joe Walsh.

  • I only wish the Audio could have been A little better, but , still great. thanks

  • This song got a lot of radio play in Boston when it was released. And it still should.

  • It got quite a bit of airplay here in Milwaukee too. It's a shame it's all but disappeared now.

    Thanks for posting!!!!!

  • Great song. I have been looking to see if anyone would post it. Slightly obscure, it never reached the fame that I thought it should have. Thanks for posting!

  • I must say,if there has been one "artist" thats rasied the hair on my neck,,,,,,it's been J. W. And that is that...he IS the man...

  • Confessor hit home... not many songs have that effect...(speaking 4 myself) that is special...don h. dose a good job also. r waters sent the hairs too.

  • Holy album batman... still, one song that sent chills...thanks

  • Don Felder wrote this song. That's why I bought the record. It's a gamblers tale of Las Vegas and ruthlessness.

  • No Joe wrote it, it was for the Eagles The Long Run, but left off. Don did the voice box guitar.
