No, its a 1.5kW inverter that I acquired. The lathe was originally fitted with a 2 speed 3 phase motor - which would only run on 380V 3Ph. Inverters which convert 220V single to 380V 3ph are very expensive here - and I had the inveter shown above. So I replaced the motor and now have my 2 speeds via the controller keypad on the inverter. It also gives me reverse..... nice little lathe

the lathe that i use at college is a but like this bit it haz atleast 12 different speeds.
