Torture is not only inhuman and cruel, but it doesn't even WORK! Study after study says that tortured prisoners will say ANYTHING to stop the torture - whether it is true or not! So you can't rely on the information derived from torturing prisoners. The only thing it does is makes monsters out of us and endangers our troops.

Other problems are that prisoners have no recourse if any law is broken, so might as well not pass the law, and the President decides what is cruel and what isn't, so I don't have a lot of confidence in what Mr. Brand-a-Frat-Pledge will think.

Well, first, um, no, Bush did no such thing. I have been paying attention. What happened is that Bush asked Congress to clarify what the CIA can and cannot do. They reached an agreement on that. And none of the things they agreed the CIA can do are what is represented by those photos.
