I picked my bathroom door lock and was super excited. Then I realized the lock had no pins... I locked it with my fingernail and then kicked the door down. Much more efficient and fun.
@rymax99 when i tried that it didnt turn but o well...can you tell me this i only got it unlocked the one time and it was easy and every other time its been a frustrating pain in the ass any suggestions?
@ripcabrinigreen welll..picking is the same principal as a key...but only if you are a pro at it. If you dont know what you are doing 9/10 times you wont be able to pick deadbolts....but when you dont know what you are doing you can damage the lock, making it impossible to unlock by picking
@rymax99 so your saying that i may have damaged it to where only a key will unlock it? also how does one become a pro with out first being an amatuer? to be honest i may just order a bump key and say fuckit it is for the door to my garage i lost the key and didnt feel like replacing the handle just yet...but either way is what you say even possible if i have indeed already picked it once before or am i just not getting lucky which is what i believe happened the first time? i asked for advice...
@BravoBlanc A lot of the time the plug will turn slightly when you get one or more pins set at the sheer line (that's where you want them), then you know you just have one or two pins left the pick and the plug will turn all the way. Hard to explain, you just have to get experience.
I had such a hard time picking locks until i came across superbumpkeys, i got some online for about 2 bucks each and you just smack the key into the lock or door and it opens the lock up with out any damage. best part is they are so much easier and faster to use.
i managed to get all the pins in place... and i turned the lock all the way (approx 180 degrees) but the door still woudlnt open. i know this door doesnt have extra stuff because i've been through it a dozen times (its my apartment roof door)... is it possible that i turned the wrench the wrong way? would it go 180 degrees even if it was the wrong way? thanks!
@ArcticSheep you didnt turn it wrong its just like a safety feature. i bumped into the smae kind of dead bolt today when u have it turned all the way and it doesnt open you need to turn it back while trying to keep the pins from fulling back down and then it opens its a newer style dead bolt than the one in this video.
@darfede picking locks is completely safe for locks, if dont correctly it leaves no traces of damage on the lock. this is how locksmiths open up locks that they dont have keys for :)
those rear pins are usually a bitch to get, I tried that one guys "Rake/Scrape" technique and it didnt work worth shit, i was using 2 bobby pins, and after about 30minutes of trying i was only successful on receiving a dime sized blister on my index finger. I can pick a padlock in less than 5 seconds though, with a fork for tension wrench and paper clip, but using the bobby pins, i dont think the hook i made can reach up to the last pins...any advice?
well i don't have any advice on using bobby pins and paper clips, but if you can spring 5 dollars on the three tools and i guarantee you'll be able to pick your deadbolt. and if you practice with the tools you'll become a lot better. now i can pick this deadbolt in about 15 seconds. thanks for watching, sorry im not much help.
nah thats cool, you actually were of help, where can you buy these tools at? I mean my friends Father is a locksmith but i dont feel like asking him and then he gets a bad idea about me, I actually got a dead bolt last night with a bobby pin and a pen clip, I also got another blister haha, took me about 15 minutes, I just think the bobby pins i was using were too fat, but yea if you can point me in a direction to get equipment, then i will look into this.
ohh crap i kst ordered a standard tension wrench, c rake n a i was manna order a short hook n have looked at the order confrimation form n i gt a long hook so do ya rekon i could file it down or grind or sommat or do yu rekon ill b able to pick with it??
It depends on what type of lock you have, usually long hooks are used for higher yield pins. But i would recommend the short hook for your standard lock picking.
nice video dude :)

Hmm, I've never tried using short hooks before. Usually I use two bobby pins (one of course to turn the lock).
How does it feel when pushing up the piston? Exactly how do you know that you have it?
