OKAY EVERYBODY EVERYBODY LISTEN UP!!!!! I FIGURED OUT WHY IT DIDNT WORK AT THE END!!!!!
LISTEN CAREFULLY!!!!! THIS IS FOR PEOPLE WHO HAVE DONE EVERYTHING EXACTLY THE CORRECT WAY AND IT STILL DIDNT WORK!!!!
1. HE POINTED TO THE WRONG PHP. FILE IN THE /MYNEWWEBSITEDIRECTORY IN DREAMWEAVER! CURE = GO BACK TO THE BEGINNING OF THE DIRECTORY WHERE ITS YOUR WEBSITE DIRECTORY!
NEXT ---> the INDEX.PHP FILE YOU WANT TO OPEN UP IS THE FIRST ONE IN THE MAIN DIRECTORY UNDER THE INCLUDES FOLDER!!!!
I got all the way to design view and got the "Direct Access to this location is not allowed." error message. Joomla and WAMP is running fine and I can access and view the site normally from localhost. I need to be able to see the design view! What am I missing? It won't display.
Thanks a million - I did this in less than 15 minutes. You just saved me about 15 hours and a ton of frustration! We really appreciate your time in doing this!
This guy is retarded man I swear, he isn't even working through joomla!, showing us how to edit templates or anything... fool man, go back to your ranch/farm and do what you're good at!
I totally agree with you mate. This was a total waste of time and both your wordpress and this is total junk. I need to know how to literary edit the whole structure in Dreamweaver.
wow thanks for teaching me for 2 and a half videos about what i already know, and then finally wen we get to the last 2 mins start talking about the reason i watched the vid, the dreamweaver stuff. lable your shit correctly people!!! get rid of the dreamweaver tag, all ur doing is telling people how to open a site, no editing or anything useful
thx for the video. i'm going to share it with my friends! one correction to make--you should open the index.php file in the site root folder not in the template folder.
SOOOOOOOO HELPFUL! I was struggling with the setup and now i got it, now i just have to scan around for other tutorials explaining module building and js'ing etc...
yo no tengo un problema me puedes ayudar hize una pagina web y no se me ve el video que se puede hacer. anda mi canal hize una explicacion de la falla pagina web.
Will this tutorial also work with 1.6 beta? I've been trying and get the following message: "Unknown error occurred while discovering dynamically related files."
Eagerly awaiting the part 3; updating the default configuration PHP file / migrating the local site to the server... I hope you can keep up these very cool tutorials, they're invaluable.
Not only did everything work just as it did in your video, but it helped me undertand the few little dumn things I was doing that made it NOT work in previous attempts. You da man!!!
All this to find out that in the end Dreamweaver CAN'T edit Joomla templates or related pages . You probably saw in the video a Restricted Access message.
Great--- You made this process so e - a - s - y, even for a novice. (me)
Now, can you continue the video, I need Joomla Tutorial Part 3. Also, I am using artisteer to help with my template. I will need a video gallery and a portofolio page, am I on the correct track
This probably the most useful tutorial series on YouTube, any chance of the tutorial on transfering my (local) database on MAMP to a webserver... that would be great. Thanks again!
Ah man, this is beautiful. This will save me a lot of time and effort. I've just managed to change some of the colors inside of Dw by just selecting random things inside of the Code Navigator. Then I 'Saved All' and then when I refreshed the Joomla homepage in browser it showed the changes. Nice!
Thank you so much! Your video is extremely helpful. This is exactly what I needed for work!
