  • i remember this...i saw this...this traumatized me that made me scared to death to ride on to airplain for a while...

  • From what movie is this ?

  • @SpaceCraftONBOARD

    this is from real life

  • Whoever said they liked it are going to hell

  • why does a good smoke view need to have dieing people

  • poor fuckers :(

  • What year this was? That ... it sucs to see :(

  • @GreatExterminator They needed to die. What a beautiful scene

  • I'm happy that the teacher died.

  • My 9th Grade teacher was one of the teachers who got cut only 1 step before he could have been picked for this mission

  • Joshua0336 I laughed so hard

  • "looks like a couple of the uh solid rocket boosters uh blew away from the side of the shuttle in an explosion" is all you can say?? people just lost their lives! if you get in a car accident i'll be there to report it and it'll go "looks like he uh got a flat tire and uh careened straight into a tree at uh 65 mph" idiot

  • @joshua0366 I dont know what you expect . Its easy for you to write in hindsight though put yourself in that situation and you can give us more details? You want to can cry and scream to make it more dramatic than it has to be? what the hell your problem.

  • that was the columbia you're thinking of.

  • in the space shuttle was a teacher who was supposed to be the first teacher in space but now looks like a jinx!!

  • @flightlevel150 well, she now is the first teacher to ever blow up while on a spaceship, that's also something right?

  • Did anyone died?

  • no shit

  • All 7 passengers on the spaceship died, Spy.

  • great fireworks

rip for the people in the shuttle

  • lame

  • @iwsab too bad we went there six times and left a retroreflector on the moon that we use still today to measurs how far away we are from the moon, not too mention the site can still be seen today due to the lack of wind on the moon, learn your shit dumb ass

  • @RLhockey203 do u realise that no photos of your proof exist? I wonder why.

  • @iwsab farm5.static.flickr.com/4050/4618435485_a550f0d1d2_z.jpg well would you look at that!

  • @iwsab not to mention russia was keeping an eye on us during the missions, i think they would have called us out if we cheated in the space race, and if they did just take pictures and fake it, why would russia not do the same thing themselves? go worry about something worth while

  • @iwsab and do you really think 400,000 people would have put time and effort into a fake landing for appollo 11 alone? i don't trust my government all the time but COME ON, are you fucking serious? do some research

  • I think the commentator remained very cool just like Ritchie Benaud after a glorious cover-drive!

  • He was probably staring at a computer screen filled with stats the whole time, and not out the window.

  • because he had a computer infront of him, not a TV

  • wtf is wrong with the broadcasters?they are so calm...they should be like "oh my god!!!!!challenger just exploded!!!this is a tragedy blah blah blah"

  • Yeah. It was so shocking and unexpected though. I bet they knew it was over when they saw it they just didn't want to scare the crowd. ;(.

  • proferic: They were unconcious after the explosion it seperated the crew cabin (which can be seen falling from the sky. certain footage shows this. they died on impact with the ocean. This comes from the accident report.

  • "Obviously a major malufunction"

Oh, I thought everything was going to plan...

  • well they say that for everything, they have to for the record. It shows that NASA acknowledged that something did go wrong, in the most stupid way ever.

  • i see two object one not on fire and one on fire. Did the crew surrvie or did they parchute out?

  • They didn't have parachutes. they took the E Ride down.

  • "it looks like the solid rockets blew away in an explosion" thank you captain obvious!

  • i know right

  • HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

  • "obviously a major malfunction", no shit. try and sound a little more shocked/distraught for the astronauts and their familys who were no doubt watching either from the observation area or live on tv at home.

  • at that point the shuttle could still have survived and the crew cabine has...if the parachutes would have opened at least three of them would have survived... well they had a 2 and a half minutes fall into the atlantic ocean like that

    R.I.P

  • Before i read ur comment i thought to myself wotta cunt lol. wotta stupid thing to say tho init :P

  • that guy had to say " full throttle" when the tanks where full didn't he ? RIP all

  • they should jump out of the ship

  • That dose not make any sense.

  • A quick pythagorean theorem calculation says they're 11 miles away from the launchpad, and probably farther from where they were standing. You can't expect them to be actually able to see what was going on.

  • wat the hell is this??? why does nobdy seemed shocked??? Its jsut like...."oh...and it seems like a few engines blew off the side of the shuttle thats all, nothing to worry about"

    WTF!!!?!

  • OMG T_T

  • what nasa didnt tell people is that they knew there was repairs that were needed to challenger, they could of had a succesfull mission but they wouldnt use the money

  • They didn't need repairs. They just needed warmer weather.

  • darn i want to be an asronaut

  • lol ho dosent:D

  • just to let everyone know the rubber o ring froze and broke then the fuel pushed the booster into the main tank and then punctured it the KABOOM!!!! no more challenger

  • that just sounds retard man...

  • there was no explosion the aerodynamic stress tore the shuttle apart.

  • yup the rockets were frozen to shit they warned management but they pressed on , once again money holds us back in what we can accomplish as a human race! instead we patch up shitty rockets to save money for Fat America .... i hope europe steps up the space program because i dont give a fuck who is the space leader of the world , i would just prefer some answers

  • the announcer's job was just to report the facts/data concerning the SHUTTLE, (altitude, longitude, conditions, etc.)... not the people on the shuttle, and also not his own opinions although "obviously a major malfunction" is a funny line... but it referred to the shuttles condition, and although his words were broadcast publicly, they were primarily for NASA, and not the public... NASA later gathered that boring information and used it to improve their shuttles

  • Did they not know what happened or were they just speechless?

  • WTF!!!!!!! HOLY SHIT!!!

  • nasa: obviously a major malfunction

no shit sherlock! the insensitivity of people these days with disasters man!

  • uhh this was awile back

  • maby arkansas is right

u can see somthing that appears to be controlled flying through the air

  • theres a leak in the left booster...i think but u cant get a good look at it in this video

  • its said that they were still alive in the cockpit as it plummeted back to earth and then died on impact when hitting the ocean...

this is kind of far out there but i heard that they have recordings of the astronauts talking to each other after the exsplosion

  • I heard that rumour but I don't think it's true. Chances are they were all likely unconscious pretty soon after the shuttle tore apart. I know 4 of the PEAPs were activated, but we dunno when that actually occurred.

  • 'Obviously a major malfunction' - has to be one of the understatements of the last century.

  • a crack on the thiokol's o-rings of the boosters, due to many factors...unfortunately the main crack (that one wich caused the explosion) was situated on the main tank side...
