whatever idiot a grown ape would attack yeah and this baby has strength that it would not use anyways , and btw im hapy your stamford bitch got mauled shows how ignorant your kind is for animals like this, now go visit a zoo.
OMG!!! lol if you look carefully at 1:05 when the chimp jumps back he tumbles over! hahaha im still laughing! wat a sweet and funny little monkey. does anyone know were i can purchase one?
I'll be the 1st to admit that Chimps are very poor candidates for house pets, but as far as them turning on their owners - that's pretty rare. I don't believe this chimp is actually their pet but assuming he/she was, the people in danger in 8 yrs would be friends and families in most cases, not the owners - provided they had a close relationship. The little guy wiould have destroyed their house well before he hits sexual maturity though - most people would have a rough time with that
Yea this is cute but it's foolish to own an ape as a pet. At some point when they grow older, say around the age of sexual maturity, they will try and dominate you. And you don't want to get into a scuffle with one of these guys. They have easily 5 times the strength of male humans and when they attack they go for your hands, digits, face, and genitals. Yea, to be blunt they'll rip your balls off. So yea at one point they'll try and fight you and you will NOT win. Give them to a sanctuary.
okay you know that this chimp will grow and be able to kill her. The natural mother knows what and how to care for baby chimps. Even though we share 99% genes I belive the 1% is animal strenght.
People forget that chimps are wild animals. They are not domesticated like dogs and cats. If a chimp was taken from the wild and at some point in his future its best to try and return him to the wild. However, Chimps are not substitute children for barren families. This is degrading to all primates. And anyone who doesn't like this statement-TUFF !! The sad fact is these animals need to be with other chimps to socialize and learn from each other. Not dressed up in some blue frock !!
These are not assumptions . They are fact. You seem to want any excuse to justify keeping chimps in private homes. But the sad FACTS are these same chimps become impossible to live with later on about 10 years old. The sanctuaries are few and the families are desperate and chimp lands up with unscrupulous people who sell them to labs . So these members of a family who had a warm bed and blanket goes to live in a terrifying lab. This is true and is a sad fact for many of them.
This is all wrong.... this chimp belongs to his Mother riding around on her , nursing, being groomed, & taught how to be a grown up chimp. He'll grow too strong to handle, become a rebellious teenager. Usually pet chimps end up in research labs, or in cages lost and forgotten. They need to place him in a chimp sanctuary while he's young, and they will if they really love him. Chimpanzee babies can not replace human babies....
Bravo !! Well said !! I wish there were more like you who could speak to these idiot people who think having a chimp is something they deserve. They are wild animals and we shouldn't be dressing them up in pretty frocks just because our own ovaries are dried up and its to late for us.
Could you make any more assumptions with no basis? Do you know where the Chimp came from? How do you know they think they deserve it? How do you know this Chimp was wild? I'll just about guarantee it wasn't since importing wild chimps is illegal bordering on impossible for most people. Given the choice between being there or in a research lab, the chimp is a lot better off here. Nasty comments do nothing good for our side and won't win people over.
While you're right on many of your points, without konwing where they got him, it's hard to say where he'd be better off. I'd much rather see him there than a lab. A sanctuary would be better but it's not like sanctuaries are overrun with money and resources and have no problem taking on new animals. If they keep him indefinitely, fine, if they keep him 7 years and he goes to a sanctuary, better there than a lab. With a little time, they'll be able to find a sanctuary.
You don't believe the woman is not the mother? You should see what it's like in a research lab (thank God that bastard Coulston is out of business) - this baby is a lot better off here if that's where he was (very likely). It takes time to get them into sanctuaries and it looks like these folks have the resources to take care of him - if he gets to be too much, they'll be able to get him into a sanctuary. Nothing is worse than a research lab.
Are they insane? Apes are terrible pets. Not only do they grow up to become agressive, but they can give humans deadly diseases, up to and including TB.
he's an ape NOT a monkey!

Yes, they are cute when they are young. But, rather dangerous when they get older.
And, by the way, it is an ape.....not a monkey. You should know better.

Apes aren't good pets and aren't there just to entertain people and make them laugh.
