Engine displacement doesn't care how fast the crank spins, and FYI, a piston engine has 1 combustion event every 2 revolutions in a 4 stroke cycle, which the rotary is. But it doesn't

There is no supercharger involved in this race, it would be obvious.
Judging by the mustang's gauges, it has to be a 94+, and if the Supra is BPU (seems to have a couple), then a true 5.0 would have to have a few good bolt-ons and a good tune for this to be the good race it was.

@xmodrock not being a dick. but rx7's displacement arent what gives it potential. they virtually have slim to none as far as displacement goes. 1.3L. what makes the rotary such a good engine, is the vibrations are ALOT lower. and the direction, they move in one direction, compared to a piston engine going up and down, then converting that into a circular motion, (driveshaft). the rotary spins in a circular motion as does the drive shaft. thats where the upper hand is given and the rpms of course

I mean don't get me wrong. 4 rotors are my all time FAVORITE motors, but displacement isn't what makes the hp, its the rpm's and the porting that create a majority of the power. As with any rotary.

@carlosvaldes2007 uhmm no, they're not. a bpu supra, usually meaning exhaust, intake, headers, etc. means stock twins and stock boost pressure. a blown 5.0 pushing 430 is going to make more power than a bpu+ supra. if it was apu than that mustang would be seeing tails. i bet the only supra's you beat are n/a mk3's. put up a video of you beating an apu mk4 and then i'll give ya respect buddy. til then, hush up, you don't know shit

BPU supra is usually round 400-460hp. but I don't think the tq. would be as close to the SC'ed mustang...could be wrong.
