I bought two copies of this game back in the day, NEW. Then I bought it twice on Wii VC. I knew TREASURE was a good company after I played Gunstar. No one carefully crafts Skill and Challenge and fun creative true arcade action like TREASURE.

found this game when i caught wind that Nintendo of america was putting jpn import games on the WVC. this game was the first. download it. played it (hated the bullet boss) beat it. play it again on its hardest difficult setting. beat that too. stop playing for awhile (a looong while). then played it again on the hardest difficult setting (after going thought the practice mode again) and asking myself. how the fuck did i beat this mode?

imports will work on ntsc 64s, you only need to modify the cartridge tray or remove it completely while playing

This is a wonderful game to play on an adrenaline rush, or when you need to vent some stress. My only gripe (which is small) Is that it is awkward to control with the gamecube controller.

I'm actually proud to say that I beat sin and punishment star successor on hard without dying more than 4 times per area XD!!

I can name many Treasure games. Guardian Heroes, Mischief Makers, Bangai O, Silhouette Mirage, Ikaruga, Radiant Silvergun I could go on all day and night. Treasure are one of the best developers to ever exist.

I remember how EGM raved about this game back in the day. We kept waiting for it to be released Stateside and it never came. It's great that we can play it now, but it's rather expensive at $12.

@vintagevideogamegeek This game is wicked,n64 doe have the best games in existence here's a few lylat wars,zelda 64,fighters destiny,super smash bros,wave race 64,dk64,jet force gemini,turok 3,f-zero x,mario 64.mario kart 64-list goes on and on,it has most classics of any system.

Just tried the game. It brings me back to the days at the arcade. I'm definitely getting the sequel, It's just a question of how fast I can save up my money.

Aiming the reticule with the RIGHT stick? So THAT'S why everyone has problems with the controls! (I'm glad I play this with the GameCube controller, which lets you just use the left stick...much much easier)

Anyway, great review. This game is 100% awesome, and you really did it justice.
