i really loved watching this show, but as hard as i tried, i couldn't make myself like the costumes. that was the only part i didn't like!! awesome show!
Maybe I'd like it if it had more flag in it. I admit, flag was my equipment of choice, but when they don't even pick them up until 5:35 of the program, it's disappointing. Less dance, more flag. The rifle and sabre parts were perfect and the choreography was gorgeous, but the lack of the most basic tenet of guard is a letdown.

We spin a routine to the music and tell a story through the routine. Not only do we spin, but we incorporate elements of dance in while we spin as well.
The guard wasn't over, they just took a break, most likely due to financial reasons since that's why most guards take breaks., I don't think the guard is horrible this year or nothing so for the people who think that, that's absurd. But after seeing this performance, i just already assumed they wouldn't be making world finals, which they didn't but maybe next year will be there year.
Perhaps my comment was misunderstood. I love this show. It was nearly perfect. In my opinion it was one of the best shows ever! What I was saying is that the judges got it wrong. (And yes, I have been a performer, instructor, and judge myself.) Fantasia, you are the best! For some reason I have a feeling you will be winning WGI again very soon...
This video is a poor representation of this guard. This has to be one of the best designed shows from an artistic standpoint. They could have used some more difficulty in equipment and movement, however it is truly sophisticated. If you don't think so, you don't get it (just like the judges). Does anyone know who this music is?

Karl was really ready to move on. He live two hours from Fantasia's rehearsal site is involved a lot in "Blast" type shows in Japan. His partner needs some quality time with Karl. True, most of us oldies are gone but it's our duty to give back and train other to be a future member of Fantasia or any other IW guard. Help encourage the youngins to continue after graduation.
Those are two of my Fav flag features this season .. BUt I think First Flight has the hardest flag statement for sure. Ya if they just change a few things they can make finals, Like add some weapon or flag work where there dancing lol.. In a few years they will b good to go!
This a rebuilding of their program with mainly brand new people. Most of the people who had done fantasia for years are no longer there. No matter what, fantasia will always be fantasia, there style is so uinique. I give everyone whos marching this season credit because its people like this who lay the building blocks to getting a great program back on its feet!

I think there show is def. good enough to make finals, but I dont know who thought it was a good idea to let those people take over the guard! But ya, the kids are great!
hmm, I do really like this show, but a few things are off to me. it seems they've added alot of dance movements throughout the whole team and it' really nice but not cleanly done, there equipment quality is way down it seems from preivous years and the flag ending is only somewhat exciting, idk, this show is not really the best by the group, but i do think they can still go really far this season if they clean up the dancing and make movements look more unified.
Yep it is my opinion, I don't think this show is at the same level as Pride or Onyx or NEI like they usually are... I am a fan of Fantasia! But this show and their season thus far reminds me of their 2005 show. I guess they are just expected to be great and be scoring high enough to be ranked in 1st or 2nd place from the get go. I look forward to seeing it at Dayton. They are growing and if they Can Medal this year that would be Great! it is 2010 after all they medal ever even yr :)
like my guard scored ten points higher than usual when we did worse than before, they cant compare it. Btw fantasia got the highest winterguard score ever recorded a few years ago, I wouldn't say they're exactly bad and remember you can put them down so low unless your guard can do better. I don't think it matters on whether you like the song choice or what not but the work looked good overall. BTW! shout out to Jennifer!!! My beloved guard coach if you ever read this (XD) You truly are amazing!
um actually, The highest score ever was by Blue Devils in 96. Fantasia came close to it but didnt beat it. No one is putting them down, Just stating facts.. Facts are that they arent as good as they were when Karl Lowe was there. As a result I dont think they will medal.. Maybe they will get top 5 BUt with NEI , Crown, Onyx, Pride, SCV and SAC They will have a fight to fit in somewhere toward the top
true, But You are forgetting about NEI who is also scoring higher.. YOu can compare Regional scores for the most part bc it is WGI judges judging. Fantasia wont medal But I can see them making 6th or 5th
Most likely they have no chance at a medal with SCV, Onyx and Pride in the 92's and Fantasia only scoring an 84.7 at a local show.. Their show just isnt up to snuff with the others

Ouch they got a 83.5 in prelims at the regional today.. It is safe to say that Fantasia will not be medaling and may not even make the top 10 :(
