  • Played French Horn in this piece my senior year of high school. So amazing :D

  • I play Bass Trombone on this! It is so much fun to play!!!!! :3

(Woodwinds, you have all my sympathy and more O_O)

  • The runs o__o

    Oh the runs..

  • GO OBOE!

  • playing this in the North Jersey Area Band Symphonic Band this year, a pretty challenging piece especially on Alto Sax. Sounds pretty cool when put together though

  • @Scrum4lifeX67 So am I. I am a bass clarinet...

  • @Scrum4lifeX67 lol so did I! :D Bb clarinet for me. it was a great concert :)

  • this song always makes me wanna cry in the middle section :'(

  • I think it's not TKWO because the sound of percussion instruments are sounded well. they dont have this tendency.

  • Playing this song on clarinet is like being chased by a cheetah; you think you're going really fast but in the end, it's never fast enough.

  • @JustSamantha15

Could not agree more. Amazing piece of music, though.

  • Very awesome peice. Were playing this in All County band this year cant wait for are first rehearsal on Monday!! :)

  • the lines are mostly scalar so its not horrible

  • Whichever band performed this piece did a horribly rushed job.

  • when i first saw this, i thought someone when over the music with a sharpie xD

  • @knine116 That's not good news for an oboist who might be playing this soon OTL It's gorgeous though! Auuugh... <3

  • @RaiMidori yeup it was awesome playing it xD

the piccolo part is pretty hell too

i think i got it easy with the tenor sax xD

  • We played this when I was in highschool. I was 1st clarinet.. it was such a rush! i loved this piece

  • 1st alto saxophone here...this is what I live for.

  • Playing this song now in our Symphonic Band at Moanalua, just started a couple weeks ago, and its a blast playing this song, I love the Cornet 1 soli.

  • played the timpani part in this for showcase when i was a sophomore.. now it's our tradition to play it in the end of the year hahaha. this piece is amazing. Alfred Reed, to you, I kowtow.

  • ハープは汚いわwめちゃめちゃ綺麗やんw

  • high school memories!

  • Timpani and Snare part is SUPER FUN!

  • Trombone One, so much fun!

  • frikken love this song so much!!!

  • I wish we would have played this in high school. Instead, we played yet ANOTHER Henry Fillmore arrangement of a Von Suppe song... -_-

  • Sounds great, but it's way too fucking slow in the middle.... WAAAYY TOOOO SLOW. The track on my CD from when I played it in HS is 8:47.... Huge difference. lol.

  • @vandy2019 if you're talking about the oboe and cor anglais part then its at perfect speed, perhaps the slightest bit slow but not "way too f****** slow"

  • A really fun song to play. (We're playing it so under tempo at my school, though.)

  • playing this in about an hour :)

  • I played the oboe solo in this song is MAGIC!

    <3

  • oboe solo <3

  • I am the 3rd clarinet section of this song,although it's difficult to control the tempo,but it's still a nice song :D

Alfed Reed always write nice songs ;]

  • played this for honors band. friggen sweet

  • i played mallet percussion on this piece (not this particular recording) but it was so much fun

  • Hopefully this is Tokyo Kosei Wind Orchestra (:

  • Comment removed

  • @sepet57 In my channel is the recording of the TKWO

  • @sepet57 If I am correct, this is not the Tokyo Kosei Wind Orchestra. There are subtle differences between this recording and the TKWO recording (such as the "lunga" in the beginning of the song being shorter in this recording). Also, the style of the TKWO playing is much different (it is very "tight" compared to this recording).

  • @RadioUpload oh .. alright ... thanks . and ya , TKWO is one of the best or the best orchestra so far ? so sad their contry has been attacked by "Harbour Wave (Tsunami)" ....

  • Comment removed

  • @RadioUpload agreed

  • i freakinn wanna play this song. my seniors played it in 2009 SYF...

  • @MyElune

  • @power0fgod Are you serious?! How do you know? If so, I am playing in it!!! :D

  • @Shawnium101 It sounds like lei haha

  • @Shawnium101 They have very strong clarinet players, their running notes are very lucid =)

  • @power0fgod Yes it was and that batch was purely amazing

  • @PieSinclare Hehe :P

  • A bitch on trombone. just sayin

  • @Cheesecake2k this piece is an alternate position's best friend

  • im playing it in school

    hardest. song. ever.

    but its worth it.

  • @coldlettuce101 definitely not the hardest song ever, my first choice is the fire bird suite

  • @coldlettuce101 Lol? NO NO NO. West side story is the hardest fucking song ever.

  • Just played it for PMEA District 1 East. Really great piece.

  • im playing this piece in our HS as 1st trombone and im soooo excited!

  • Agh! I accidentally hit the dislike button... =(

  • Love This Song... We Play it @ The NS Harmonie from Holland!! It's Beautiful!!

    Luckily its not that hard

  • Alfred Reed is the man

  • I'm playing this song at my school this year as a horn... i need to start practicing yestreday.

  • @FrenchtypeHorns You're in Crestview aren't you? :p

  • @lyro92 Pace is doing it too for our spring concert haha

  • I'm a freshman in high school and I got to play the harp part with the wind ensemble. I'm honestly so excited, this is such an epic piece, and the slower part where I play is soooo beautiful :D

  • むづかしーけど聴くのは好きです。この曲。

  • what the crap... the Youtube layout got changed to something even more gay... anyway I love this piece :D good time to be a trumpet

  • Excellent! Our band is going to play this piece for next year Syf! Horns rule:)

  • Is this the TKWO recording?

  • Playing this song in band at the moment. Its so much fun. :DDD

  • Getting this piece soon. I'm slightly scared. xDD

  • @slitzkin532 you doing NY area all state? :P

  • @thedude6393 No.

  • @thedude6393 NYSAAS Zone 11?! Such a sick piece to play. SO much fun and amazing sounding.

  • @zeke21703 if zone 11 is westchester, then yes :p

  • My high school band director wants to try and attempt this song. We did La Mezquita last year which is very very similar to this. It sounds like this song would be a blast to play though. We sure as hell won't sound like this xD

  • @tydydpony93 HEY CHRIS! WE ACTUALLY DID MEZQUITA 2 YEARS AGO! ;D AND I WASNT IN IT =[

  • cornet part <3

  • looove that song! I have played that also, but there is a place on the fastest that i get out all the time :D Lucky that we were 8 flutists :)

  • @SuperRandomise Fairfield!

  • @swopwhop how do your band the marimba and vibes player survive this song i wonder.. o.o

its mostly using double mallets.. o.o

  • This song is so awesome... I had to play this my freshman year symphonic season as the oboe, and I has just switched to it. The solos terrified me, but I really do enjoy playing this.

  • This is such a great, great song! iloveit.

  • Played it when i was in grade 9... excellent piece!

  • 9:34 to the end, it's like when our heroes have defeated their enemies and they're riding off with their horses into the sunset while celebrating.

  • This was the last song we played in my last high school concert. It makes me really miss the people I met in the band, and I can only hope that my university band is just as fun. And that we have a clarinet section that good. :-P I'm not that awesome.

  • i love the oboe solo at about the 3 minute mark. i had to play it last year. so so beautiful.

  • this song is SO well written! I enjoyed playing it, and will always enjoy listening to it!

  • such a great song... everything about it!!

  • Played this for SYF 4 years back! I really miss band after listening to this song. 2nd Cornet!! Trumpets rules for life!

  • @swopwhop you from which band?

  • Played this song last night in a concert...

second flute...I struggled playing entire semi-quavers...

but such an awesome piece to play and be a part of

  • @ezfreckles me too ~

  • i love love love the part at about 8:20 ish!!

    the 4/8 8/8 4/8 part...xD

    Playing at music camp

  • Sorry! I hit te button; don't like, but i meant; i like! i love this song!

  • Tokyo Kosei Wind Orchestra ????

  • I can imagine this as battle music, with the the part from about 2:45 to 8:45 being downtime and traveling to the next fight.

  • my band played this song last year, really brings back memories :3

  • i am playing this song now in band. i play the clarinet and let me tell you this is one hard piece

  • I played this with my wind orchestra several times. My conductor was suicidal enough to have us play it at this speed. Absolute torture, but it was well worth it. Beautiful. Slow movement still makes me cry even after all the times I've played it.

  • love this song! our band played it in Disney's Magic Music Days at Disneyland CA in 99 or '00. sweet nostalgia!

  • :) this is one of my favorite songs ive played this year because it was the easiest. haha. my band played it for contest 4 days ago.

  • @MatchesAndThumbtacks lol the easiest?^^

  • @m4dclaw can well imagine it was the easiest, we played it for a European Youth Orchestra contest and it was the easiest piece we played then! The other two were Bacchus on Blue Ridge and Armenian Dances. We won first prize! XD

  • we're actually playing this for our spring concert in my high school wind ensemble. i play mallets, and, agreeing with the kid down there, it's hard for a percussionist to get excited about a concert band piece, but this is definitely one i enjoy :)

  • i played this my freshmen year for festival! i had 2nd trombone part

  • I'm currently a sophomore in high school. I play percussion, specifically timpani in this case. We play this song this year in our upper-level band, and it's instantly recognizable as a special and enjoyable piece of our setlist. As a percussionist that also plays trap set in a deathcore band, a show choir band (Westside Delegation, CRJ 2010 best-in-state, look us up!), jazz band, and more, its not often that I'm excited about a concert band piece. This, by all means, is a clear exception.

  • Go French Horn Soli! Or school might be playing this for a competition and Bush Dance...

  • i'm actually playing this song at school, im lucky, im playing euphonium and i got a lot of solos...thx to Alfred Reed who thought about us brass soloist !

  • @tapisocre

    yea same :)

  • @tapisocre

I play the euphonium too and we played this peace already at some concerts and a few competitions,

one of Reed's masterpieces! Just beautiful!

    Greetings from Germany

  • @tapisocre The song could be harder for us Euphs.

  • @tapisocre

it's actually a piece/composition. Songs have words you dumb fuck

  • @tapisocre

where do you get the notes from?

  • @tapisocre

Dude, I played Euphonium on this song, and our part sucks. We have 1 solo. I don't know what you're rambling about.

  • the slow part just gets me everytime^^ can't really concentrate when I have to play then, kinda get lost in the music XD

  • Definitely my favorite song from the 4 years of symphonic band in high school. Symphonic Overture and Liturgical Dances tie for second, though.

  • it's so fantastic :D !

my school will play this when we go to the national competition. wish us good luck ha......

  • I love JanFest!!

  • i just played this at janfest at uga this year! sat second horn in the honor symphonic band (i'm only a sophomore)

  • U want to hear murder? We are playing this song with three trumpets. We are all doubled on parts, its crazy hectic, but it works out fine just killer

  • trumpets and cornets ftw baby!!!!!!

  • this is our marching show this year :D i like this song :DDDDD

  • holy shit marching with el camino real?!?! that would be a dream come true for me but i don't see how that's possible.

  • this song is like super hard 2 play like its simple slow but this fast id like 2 live thank u very much

  • me too i wish u gud luck b/c were playin it now for a concert

  • Which is the band that

    play this song ?

  • It is a pro recording.

  • @RadioUpload Which pro band? Thanks for uploading =)
