This Zodac may be a merchandising token used by the creators, but at least it happened & he Rocked the kosba regardless. I hate the way he has to be subjegated by the original one in everyway, but nevertheless at least I & the children today can have him in their collection along with the original. Racism is any form sucks, & to expose children too it is even worse because children have no pre-concieved ideas about people, unless their taught it. Like a rainbow, diversity is beautiful & cool.
The thing that I appreciate the most & finally about the MOTU Classics line as opposed to the original is the neo introduction of some much needed diversity, which the 2002 series implimented. As a kid I did'nt have a problem with the lacking diversity because I was essentially a child that just loved the show, the morals, & the characters, but when I got older like many others I noticed that sad reality. Every child needs to be able to see themselves as a hero, & not just if you have fair skin.
Thanks man! If you hadn't told me that the Tats glow in the dark, I wouldn't have known! Great review! I just wish that they had made the helmet removable, or at least made a variant head. Maybe they'll do that if they make a re-issue.
Also, the Zodak in the newest series wasn't of a 'darker complexion' - he was black....not so much a pc move by the creators, but just as a character who happened to be black....thereby making the characters more inclusive of different races.
This was a Catch 22 for me. No matter how I chose to word it, someone would say something. I chose "darker complexion." It's a true statement. So is saying he's black. I opted not to use the term "African American" because he is a fictional character who is neither African nor American. :)
I actually thought about it and I think I agree - I'm sorry if I sounded a bit anal....you do a good job (really). Although I'll still stick with my other comments - I somehow feel that your reviews are a little bit formal - I know they are NOT, but its like they're paying you to do them....maybe voice more of your negative opinions more strongly - cus that's what people want to hear before buying a fairly expensive figure. Also, maybe leave the credits to the information bar - just a thought.
@Mandalorian30 ThankGOD he isnt said to be African American because there aint no Africa/America on Eternia and cause he is DARKER and fits the bill of any race like: Aboriginal, Maori, Keralite, Sri Lankan, Dravidian, Fijian, Papua New Guinean, African....
Anyways he is ALIEN so he we cant judge him by our own racist steriotypes.
Hey Dan, have watched and enjoyed quite a few of your reviews. You have to realise that a lot of people will see yours before any of the others as you get them earlier - so it might help if your a little more detailed and a little less 'pc' - its almost like you democratically glaze over things which a lot of fans might complain about. Also, it might help if you leave Bio and package details to the information bar (like Sean's reviews) as it takes up quite a bit of time. Just some feedback.

I liked Zodac, but I like Zodak even more. He was a lot more badass than Zodac and his storyline is much more understandable than Zodac's.

hmmm i wouldn't put my money on that, seems like this figure has a lot of thumbs down for not being 200x accurate? (i think is is the case)
brunobliss 2 years ago
Really cuz I recently heard it's just cuz he's a bonus figure
Maximumagnus 2 years ago
I think Mattel is doing repainted body parts tosave money on toymolds so making more expensive designs like rare pieces or new heads is now easier

Ashame it appears he lacks wrist rotation ;[ ...
MechaBlazeEagle 2 years ago
I don't see how thats possible if he shares Hordak's
wrist, which does have articulation.
Samc023 2 years ago
How's that prevent waist articulation?...
MechaBlazeEagle 2 years ago
Waist? You originally said wrist.
Samc023 2 years ago
I'm sorry. I did a typo. Yep, I ment waist. Oops! LOL!

I don't think it was much of a pc move either, just more
of a re-imagined version of the original which compared
to the very tanned version, this Zodak does have a "darker
complexion" .

While the line may have its issues, overall they are
quality made figures. Therefore harsh criticism may not
even be warranted and with many reviews of the line on
the internet I'm sure that many adult collectors are well
informed when buying these.
