Pontiac's are called tall blocks not big blocks. Whoever said that this was prolly a 350 i would guess is right. The car doesn't have the 400 hood plus the low rpm torque that 400s are notorious for definitely isn't there. One last thing. It wasn't until 1984 that pontiac was merged with Chevy and Gm of canada. Up until that point like the rest of gm they where a stand alone subsidiary that designed around the GM bodies ie fisher, fleetwood, etc.
@boats752 have you checked out A.M.D.? im sure there are reproduction parts out there that can revive your bird. in fact AMD's sloagan is "its never too far gone" check em out.
actually the rearends are different than a chevy and technically the tranny is different with the different bolt pattern, all pontiacs are big blocks from 326-455 uses the same block-heads-intake
and he might have the rear brakes really tight thats why the second burnout went better

for starters lets just blow the tranny up with the forward and reverse flooring... and second a 350 motor isnt a big block its a chevy small block. yes a 400 motor would be good. but a zz4 chevy 350 crate motor puts out more power than the 400 motor.
well no it has awesome power and torque. it has more speed than it does torque so basically all the power put into it would come out as the cars speed youre right it doesnt have the BEST torque, but it still has enough torque to be considered a good car. The speed is excellent, the looks are superb, but the power and torque i agree could be a lot better. My youtube name pretty much gives away what my favorite car is.
im hoping for a 77 T/A Special Edition (if you buy the special edition version it pretty much has increased horsepower though). I'm hoping to buy that exact model because of the movie Smokey and the Bandit.
