If you wanna be suspicious about someone, think about BOLT who destroyed three world records in Beijin' and came out of the nothing just a year ago.

My whole intention is just to show you, that all of these competitions aren't only won through training, but through technology and pharmaceuticals too. Did you know that urine and blood samples are taken from winners of olympic competitions? Not only to check them during the following weeks of their competition, but for 8 more years,
waiting to see if a new updated anti doping system comes out (so they can use it to retest those samples), or if any illegal drug used in the past, can now be detected. Lots of gold medals have been taken away because of this. And seriously, I HOPE they don't take away any of Michael's but... guess where are those tests runned? yep.. in the U.S.A.

And YES, there anti doping systems, but, people please, just think about it for a second, if there are drugs that improve your stamina, strength, etc etc, don't you think there are drugs that can dissolve the remaining components, making the initial pills untraceable? YES, there are, they exist. And YES they're used, even between olympic competitors.

BUT! The thing is, after all the competitions I've seen, it is quite rare to watch a single competitor who doesn't know about them, or doesn't use them. So, long story made short, Yes, you can bet your ass Michael Phelps is using some of these, BUT probably, so are the rest of competitors, which, in the end, is "balanced", making Michael Phelps still better than them

Don't get me wrong, it is not my intention to talk dirt about anyone, specially Michael, which in my personal opinion, he's my absolute hero. So the whole point of telling u this, is so you don't get to fooled about these high performance competitions. There's always a way to cheat the system.

i respect your opion but Michael is clean and i believe that. i believe in michael's career. He's a phenomenal swimmer who's been doing great things since he was 15. What he did in Beijin' is not an isolated event. He's been phenomenal for more than 6 years winning 17 world championships, 14 gold medals and breaking 30+ world records. If you wanna be suspicious about someone, think about BOLT who destroyed three world records in Beijin' and came out of the nothing just a year ago.

My whole intention is just to show you, that all of these competitions aren't only won through training, but through technology and pharmaceuticals too. Did you know that urine and blood samples are taken from winners of olympic competitions? Not only to check them during the following weeks of their competition, but for 8 more years,

waiting to see if a new updated anti doping system comes out (so they can use it to retest those samples), or if any illegal drug used in the past, can now be detected. Lots of gold medals have been taken away because of this. And seriously, I HOPE they don't take away any of Michael's but... guess where are those tests runned? yep.. in the U.S.A.

Once again, it is not my intention to talk dirt about Michael, I repeat, HE IS my hero, and pill user (which I'm really sure he is) or not (which is what my sport faith hopes), he'll still be my hero because of every single competition you've just mentioned. I also follow really close his career.

I know that you are skeptical and i respect that but I know michael is clean, he is one of the most tested athletes ever. He's tested twice a day in the states coz he's in a volunteer program in the states. In beijin' he got tested six more times than most swimmer coz he did it volunteerly. I know what you are getting at but i've been follwing michael's career and he's clean, he's been doing phenomenal things since he was 15 but i understand your concern........

Ok people, let's get these facts straight. I've been in swimming since I was 4 years old, so that's 15 years now, and been through lots and lots of competitions, so practically i've seen it all (almost all). Ok here's how it goes..
That's right, the use of steroids would be absolutely stupid in swimming competitions. TOO Stupid.. But still, there are lots of substances and pills that swimming federations might not consider "legal" at all, but still, they're constantly used..

YOur a moron. How do steroids help a swimmer. Steroids build obscene amounts of muscle mass and destroy fat cells. this would ONLY hurt a swimmer's performance. Biology 101. Muscle mass DOES NOT FLOAT. It's to dense to float, much like your head. If phelps were doping he would have sank to the bottom of the pool.

Jones, Bonds, Clemens, Montgomery, Petit, football players, baseball players (at least 140), basketball players,etc, etc. He use advanced drugs, just like Marion Jones, that is not detected in "normal " drug tests. Sorry, you do need to prove it. Just because other athletes in USA do take steriods, or "advanced drugs", it doesn't all of a sudden, point to Phelps. Phelps did swim fair. He also did go by the rules. If you can't prove shit, then don't talk about it. And you grandmother can't beat Phelps even if she used drugs, because drugs alone won't make you fast. Swimming isn't about just going fast and throwing your arms, it has technique.
