do they clip out down that really steep downhill part in the middle with the logs and roots?

They don't take their feet off the pedals so I guess not.

if you clipped out on clipless pedals on really bumpy rutted stuff like logs your feet would probably just slip off the pedals making you crash

The actual Olympic course has been slightly modified, it's more technical, and you can't actually can't see what it's like on the ground.
It's also very hillly

Agreed. But we didn't get to see much of the topography of this course. All we saw were 2 bits. you're right though, if what we saw is indicative of the race, then it'll be child's play. Note to anyone going to beijing: bring a rigid fixie. lol.

lol,this course was even narrow than those in japan...and they got no pro stuff!
Stinks, that tight corner at the end of the modest hill is gonna be pretty chewed up.

If this movie shows everything what may be hard in this track it's too easy like for an Olympic Game!!!
