@SubMeSub officiers and Govern of both Countries meet up there without the need to cross the border which is strictly forbidden. Once in, they can talk about whatever they want.
@breakingbenjamin4lif He is not facing the wall, its the camera view you idiot,if the camera go the other side you can see that he is not facing the wall, this is optical illusion
@MrProgrock They do that so that only half their bodies are exposed to possible gunfire. Over the years, the KPA soldiers have been dicks and will fire shots at the American and South Korean guards, so they stand like that to minimize their exposure to KPA gunfire.
@MrProgrock he's not staring into the wall, he's facing north and using the building as cover. the tour guide should have told you this but i guess he didnt.
@XxFightinDirtyxX halo fan boy? you must know a lot about halo then to get that out of me calling you a commy. i'm not trolling either, i'm stating a fact, so why don't you go and live in north korea, see how you like it.
@geniusboy01 Just out of curiosity - could the guard with the camera be using his "buddies" as an excuse to photograph something on the south side of the DML? I have never been there and have no idea what it looks like there, so forgive me for this potentially stupid question.
I guess if someone just sprints across into NK he/she would be taken to the "welcome center" to be "welcomed"? Also, I hear if a NK sprints across to SK he/she can easily file for citizenship, or be treated more fairly?
While I don't agree with everything my country does, I certainly stand behind action that is a result of being asked for help (Korea) and stand behind any action where it is our duty to stand up for those who can not do it for themselves. America doesn't stick it's nose into everything - go visit Cambodia and see the results of not dealing with the KR. The strongest countries should be the worlds police.. however sometimes the "police" don't get it right. That's life.
@dondanyi and what education you have useful idiot? Since you come from a Communist country that controls your freedoms and your education you tell me to be educated shithead. First I did two tours in Korea! I seen how fucked up the North Koreans are! So since you are control where you can go! What you can say! And what your education is.....you can go pound sand communist boy!
Why does america have to stick their nose into everything? korea is none of your business, Vietnam is none of your business, Iraq is none of your business!
@dondanyi Your as stupid as they come from China... North Korean invade South Korea and ask the UN for help! We and a dozen other country came and help push back the N. Koreans! While your fucked up Country interfered by baling out the North Koreans by STICK YOUR NOSE INTO OUR BUSINESS BUCKET BRAIN.....
@geniusboy01 Sorry for not answering back sooner but I did two tours in Korea in 1984 to 85 and 1989 to 1991! First tour was with Theater Air Naval Ground Operations Security Force (TANGO Security) and 2ndTour with the 2nd Division at Camp Hovey and the DMZ......
@geniusboy01 When you are inside the DMZ their are NO Fences.... Only a Yellow sign roughly anywhere 4 to 5 feet tall that marks the border.... Yes their was times we were right at the border....
@11B30Inf I don't know why I said "served" what I meant was that you were stationed there but I couldn't think of it... anyway. Were you stationed there?
@cronus6282 You should have seen how they re act back in 1984 when a Soviet Union Embassy personal defected across that very same spot in that video clip! A big fire fight and many dead and wounded North Koreans soldiers. One South Korean solder was killed and one American was wounded. Oh by the way the defector made it!
It's the other DPRK soldier's duty to pull him back, they also blow whistles for assistance. It happened once when I was stationed there and they pulled the defector back and beat the unholy snot out of him dragging him away. Very rare, the front line guard are little more than programmed machines.
Notice how the guards are arranged. The North Koreas face eachother and one looks toward the North, a position that would stop anyone trying to cross over to the south. The South are arranged in such a fashion as to watch the Norths movements and catch defectors coming from the North.
@ShadowValentine Hi there. There are LOTS of tours of the DMZ - however - if you want the best tour (the one we took) then you need to take the USO tour. The USO tour is the ONLY tour that takes you right to the border where you walk into the building and can step over the border. Check out this other youtube video by Lauren In Asia to see what I'm talking about. Search youtube for "Lauren In Asia" to find her DMZ video.
Terrible tour guide! I served at JSA, and was a tour guide for 6 months. This kid knows NOTHING about his job vaguely answering questions asked by the groupd... North Korea DOES have internet, but only a select few may use it, and it is regulated by their government... What is a mortar round? A mortar is an indirect fire weapon, that fires shells at low velocities, short ranges, & high-arcing trajectories, in support of infantry troops. Why does that soldier not know this!?
man this is intense, so if one north or south korean even cross one hair tip in the demarcation line? they will get shot?? crazy how people are separated not by continents but by political ideologies.
can they even pass notes to each other? i bet u they do when no one is looking.
I have had North Koreans try to give me things, in trade for things from the South... they love US cigarettes & sunglasses, for example... I have also had one try to reach across and shake my hand... there are spots up in the woods where there are no cameras. I never traded, and never let them touch me. I did draw on one, and he stepped back, and no report was made. I don't trust those brain washed Commies; they only let the most trusted in this area, as it's their best chance to defect!
@maciver02 yeah, I'm in China right now (only getting youtube thanks to a VPN), and they've got the same march. Gotta say though, Nazi goose stepping looks tons better than this retarded commie crap.
@geniusboy01 checked it out pretty cool. I wonder if they are really going to go through with the continuation of the war and they were photographing the DMZ cause it wont be there much longer.
