  • Very mellow...

    -H-

  • This makes me feel like I'm walking through a black forest.

  • This was my favorite band back in the 70's and they still are today..This song is so beautiful very peaceful..just sit back and dream:)

  • you know something

i edit that song to 7 min and it still heard the same

    no one can change metal

  • Great song..! Also check out 'Ulver - Solitude' this is a sweeet cover version :)

  • listen to other sabbath songs, and compare ozzy's voice to this. if you listen very carefully, they have the same timbre and i also noticed from the breathing. Its definitely ozzy, and i hate it when some people think otherwise, its like denying that ozzy had such a good singing voice through the 70-75 albums

  • Surprisingly enough this is neither Ozzy nor Bill Ward. It's supposed to be Ozzy but it in no way sounds like Ozzy's singing and when the band was asked if Ward did the vocals on this one, they answered that the first appearance Ward made on vocals was on It's Alright from Technical Ecstasy.

  • This song make me feel like I'm walking through a Japanese peace garden while I'm holding hands with the most beautiful person I've ever met as apple blossoms fall gently in the breeze. And when you tell them you love them, they run away and don't come back.

  • @RockForce131 what an odd comment

  • @buttmunch472 that nob is not on planet black sabbath thats for sure hes from planet u-ranus .jj7

  • @buttmunch472 It's just what my mind came up with when I first heard this.

  • This song make me feel like I'm walking through a Japanese peace garden while I'm holding hands with the most beautiful person I've ever met as apple blossoms fall gently in the breeze.

  • @Tjuguskegg666 Lost in space? Having trouble reading? Or was this just an excuse to use the language that you were probably brought up with? Pay attention. Someone else already assured me that this is Ozzy. I don't doubt it. I just didn't recognize the voice after all these years. Get it???

  • when i listen to this song ,i break out in tears!! it makes me think of my teenage life in the 80's!! when music was music!!! long live metal

  • @pompei1968 This album is from 1971.......

  • Fuck I wish Ozzy put this much soul into his music nowadays.

  • i think planet caravan from paranoid is better

  • Face it, people. No matter what you do, there's always gonna be some dumbfuck who goes 'hurr this isn't ozzy'--either because they're some retarded troll who wants to annoy people or because they're genuinely just ignorant and apparently can't read the 500+ pages of people yelling about how it isn't Bill fucking Ward, it's Ozzy. People are stupid like that.

  • @SovietRei isn't this before ozzy had his wreck ??

  • Doesn't sound like Ozzy.

  • @walk4trot2canter3 this is Ozzy, you fool

  • @witchcraftlord OK, Mr. Church Organ Player, what a nice attitude you have. Thanks for enlightening me. I had this album and saw Black Sabbath in concert. I don't remember Ozzy's voice sounding as weak as it seems to sound here. This was my favorite song on the album. Thanks for letting me know. Now trot off to church, Sir.

  • @walk4trot2canter3 i get $50 when i play a few pieces for 1 long church service, that means i am a professional musician, i dont give a shit about the church or christianity, .. you are the one that said it doesnt sound like Ozzy, and im telling you it is, dont call me mr church organ player, and say shit like trot off to church, ive had enough people talk shit to me , why cant you be happy and enjoy like, keep your comments to yourself,

  • @witchcraftlord I'm so sorry that I offended you. I keep forgeting how sensitive guys are. I mean, I said that the voice didn't sound like it was Ozzy. I was ok with the correction that you put my way, but YOU called me a fool. I didn't think my response warranted such a reply, especially since so many others questioned who was singing the song. So I got a little snippy. I'm kinda tough skinned and keep forgetting how guys get their feelings hurt so easily. For that, I owe you an apology.

  • @walk4trot2canter3 its ok, im not offened, it wont think of this tomorow, dont worry, sometimes i say things to see what people will say, im trying to find true people, and stay away from negative people.

  • I guess it is Ozzy I was reseaching but I thought I had a album cover that said Ward sang this track..... guess not

  • Na Bill Ward is singing this one.......

  • Na Bill Ward is singing this one.......

  • Awesome song!

  • is hard as it is to believe yes this is Ozzy singing...

  • IT'S OZZY

  • alright one question....is this ozzy singing?

  • Fuckin love thee ole sabbat! Hail pagen! Hail!

  • one of the most beautiful songs ever

  • @GriefTourist I beg to differ.....it is THE most beautiful song ever :)

  • black-sabbath. com/discog/masterofreality.html Scroll down to notes!

  • @KnoxaramaV2 Yeah, which is why I also said that they took their reference from the Black Sabbath official site. Did you fail to read that part?? Planet Caravan doesn't sound like typical Ozzy, but it is... neither does this but it is definitely the Ozzman. Do you think they wouldn't credit Ward for the song if it was him?? Honestly?? I have the original record no credits to Ward for singing anything.

  • @heavymetalhead666 You can't tell certain people things. This argument has been going on for ages lol, some people just don't listen and if they want to be stupid allow them to be so. No sense in getting worked up about thick skulled fools.

  • Reminds me of some people on earth that are misunderstood and may be genius, left alone to look at the insanity

  • @Superdave1ize Or destroyed by bullies or some pedifile ,that still gets away will it .

  • Reminds me of some people on earth that are misunderstood and my be genius, left alone to look at the insanity

  • LOVE IT

  • The VOCALIST IS OZZY, it says so on wikipedia. They took their reference from Black Sabbath's official site on the FAQs page.

  • @heavymetalhead666 yeah, wikipedia isn't a great source and this sounds nothing like ozzy. if anything, its ward.

  • @KnoxaramaV2 Dude, it IS Ozzy.

  • @KnoxaramaV2 It's Ozzy

  • @ everyone people can't be right all the time it is human to error oh well I learned something new.

  • this is ozzy singin just. Listen to the demo on the master of reality deluxe edition

  • This was the first Black Sabbath Album I bought in 1971, it was so trippy, especially with the first song (Sweet Leaf) - now, I reaalise what damn good quality it was, and remains.

  • a dark brooding tune...but lifts you up when you feel down...its that damn good...awesome tune

  • i want to climb mount everest, have two 100 watt speakers, a stereo, and listen to this song over and over while looking down at the rest of the world

  • @jamesbonello1 That's the weirdest yet coolest idea I've ever heard.

  • @jamesbonello1 great idea. if it wasn't so cold i'd be there with you

  • @jamesbonello1 then die because of the lack of Oxygen.

  • @razer3230 if you ask me it would be the perfect death. dying to this song, a spiritual and astral way of dying :P

  • @jamesbonello1 Or go to the moon. Unfortunately i don't think sound will get to earth lol.

  • I rather find it soothing!

  • I rather find it soothing!

  • "Solitude" is a slow burner. Took me years to realize it was much, much more than a rehashed "Planet Caravan". Beautiful stuff...

  • To all of you who think this is Ozzy, sorry this is not Ozzy doing this singing . Yes this is Bill Ward he wrote the song, and he sang it.

  • @colavalnh incorrect sir, that is a myth

  • @colavalnh No that's Ozzy.

  • @colavalnh LMAO. There's always dbags like you who come in to solitude videos and act like they know their shit, but you're wrong, it's Ozzy. lololololololol

  • @colavalnh

Wrong. If you can't tell just by the voice that this is Ozzy, then you my friend, are no Sabbath fan. And perhaps even if you can't distinguish who's voice it is. YOU'RE ON THE INTERNET. JUST GOOGLE IT.

  • wicked fucking song. timeless and insightful.

  • Damn, this is a depressing song.

  • This is the saddest song, It probably brings people to tears, but crying really is a good thing, because it is refreshing!

  • What an amazing song

  • illuminati.me.pn

  • 100% OZZY!!!! Ward did not perform vocals for any Black Sabbath song until the band's seventh album, Technical Ecstasy, on the track "It's Alright".

  • @hermodridetohel Did he also do the vocals for "Swinging the Chain" off Never Say Die?

  • ..............A Master Piece!!!! Absolutly fantastic. Black Sabbath are god

For people from UK, USA, Australia and other countries where english language is used - You can translate it. It was written using Polish language.

  • Yeah, it's my favourite too. But I also like Vol. 4. Obviosly i like all their albums...

  • Amazing

  • Master of getting off their respective fucking tits.

    :o)

  • it's a real good album but not the best one....

  • how tha fck ppl post to say they don't like this???? GTFO!

  • just as good as planet caravan, maybe better.............peace man.

  • who ever the fuck thinks thats not ozzy is fucking posing for thats stupid

  • @CassandraRoberts its bill ward singing dude

  • @CassandraRoberts Posing? Say what?

  • Yes this is Ozzy singing

  • too bad its not ozzy singing it

  • @durk20

you're wrong tha's Ozzy, he is just singing softer.

  • @durk20 ud Go To black abbath online they have it its Ozzy

  • @durk20 Do you youtube search for "Solitude (Demo - Alternate Version) - Black Sabbath". It's the original take of this song and it lays any controversy on who is singing here to rest. It's Ozzy!

  • @durk20 it is ozzy you dumb fuck

  • @CassandraRoberts

no it is not. It's ronnie james dio. Ozzy never recorded a version of this until much later in his career after leaving sabbath then reuniting with them.

  • @durk20 wrong!!!! its Bill Ward singing,Dio was nowhere near Sabbath around this time...but anyway great song, great album from the very creators of METAL!!!

  • @gonzogriffin It's Ozzy singing.

    black-sabbath com/discog/masterofreality.html

  • i think i even prefer the ulver cover

  • Soothing. A mix between rock and folk. good stuff.

  • Is this Ozzy singing?

  • @lqetvb yes

  • After this, I'm going Into the Void with a Spiral Architect...

  • After this ,I'm going Into the void with a Spiral Architect...

  • Comment removed

  • Memorys I have ReMIIHHND me of you!!

  • "Cryin' & Drinkin' Is All That I Do" ♥ *epic*♥

  • Any other of you other metalheads feel you we're born in the wrong era, like you should have been born earlier, when the music was 'real' like the 70's....or earlier, like, the early 70's

  • @M3TalMan99

I see what you did there.

  • almost 30 years a fan still this song is so powerful......sabbath forever!!!!

  • Zombie and the ghost train brought me here!

  • I remember the period of my life I was listening to this song all days long...

  • this song expresses my lost it is very true ang meaningful

truly from the pioneers this is solitude

  • @LTBiermacht Cheer up dude! Life's pretty. Leave the past behind and move on ;)

  • Depressing song but awesome.

  • great band underappreciated

  • Wow, I can't believe this is the Prince of Darkness. Fascinating...

  • my friend told me that he has this album on record

  • Offence: Rape

    Offender: Me

    Victim: Repley Button

    Judgment: Nothing

  • @IKuiviz my opinion about you: bad as fuck

  • for those who say ozzys voice / vocal range is always the same... look at this an planet caravan then look at the writ or symptom if the universe

  • /watch?v=h3KjvLA_lA0

  • This was the first album that I got, back in '72. A great way to start...

  • Oczywiście zawsze się znajdzie jakiś skurwiel, albo nawet 8. ludzie jebnijcie się w łeb!!!! Jak nie potraficie zrozumieć magii tego utworu to wypierdalać i nie oceniać !!

  • I don't like this song,but yet i like planet caravan.

    maybe i like it alittle.

  • Tony Iommi's Flute is AWESOME...

  • "my name it means nothing, my fortune is less"

  • @LOTTI801 I LOVE YOU BABY

  • interesting

  • One of the prettiest songs in the whole world ... There isn't a greater band than Black Sabbath, they are PURE PERFECTION.

  • Ozzy did sing this. He also sang Planet Caravan. Bill ward sings It's Alright and Swinging the Chain.....It's true, so no need for gay arguments, and petty name calling.

  • sorry in 1974 we went to providence in the winter to see black sabbath and blue oyster cult it was 1978 at the cape cod coliseum never say die tour with van halen and the crowd was booing van halen off the stage and david lee roth stoped the show and gave the crowd the finger sorry for the screwed up dates lots of acid and weed back then but both shows ozzy and black sabbath rocked the place down.

  • im wrong on this ozzy did sing planet caravan

  • @77bustoff Yes Ozzy sang Planet Caravan AND Solitude. Check out the Deluxe edition of Master of Reality which makes that a lot clearer.

  • lol dude bill ward sings this and its all right and planet caravan and swining the chain.... trust me i seen this tune live in 1974 at the cape cod coliseum they played with blue oyster cult what a kick ass show that was

  • @77bustoff It's also quite interesting to note that Solitude has never been played live.

  • @77bustoff According to the 1974 tour dates archive they didn't play Cape Cod Coliseum in 1974 either...

  • @77bustoff m8 i always tought it was ozzy u kiddin me iam shocked :O

  • sorry but bill ward sang this tune wsbtam

  • @77bustoff No, this is Ozzy, Bill Ward only sang "It's Alright" from Technical Ecstasy and "Swinging the Chain" from Never Say Die!.

  • Absolute Classic..

Master of Reality was the best Album Sabbath ever did.

Dont get me wrong Sabs fans, i loved all the albums but this was a classic and you all know it was.

  • @MrAshimoto This is the one that got me into Sabbath. It will always be my number one favorite Sabbath album of all time.

  • @MrAshimoto For sure my friend.

  • @MrAshimoto i like your idiea but i always go with paranoid =D they are both awesome

  • @MrAshimoto Actuallty Paranoid was their greatest work

  • @revemupman .

If you think Paranoid was sabbaths best song then you really need to listen to their entire back catalogue.Paranoid was an album filler.written on the spare of the moment and while i agree that its a great song, its certainly not their best,in fact, nowhere near.

All early sabbath stuff i loved.

I actually love the song "its alright" sung by the man himself"mr william ward"

Black Sabbath have been my fave band for many years, started listening to em in 1980

  • @MrAshimoto I'm talking about Paranoid the album. Not the single from the album. That album to me was their best work

  • Everyone is talking about wanting to go back in time to the greater days of music (while yes I would too) this song really just makes me want to go back about a year back to when things were better. ALG Memories I have remind me of you.

  • My absolute favorite Sabbath song!! LOVE Ozzy's voice on this!!

  • 1970 to 1975 was the best time period in he history of rock! ZEPPELIN relased all theyre best stuff, THE STONES did exile, SABBATH did all theyre best shit-THE WHO released 4 now classic albums, and you had now legendary acts coming out with theyre 1st albums like AC/DC, ALICE COOPER-KISS-QUEEN-DAVID BOWIE-ELTON JOHN(WHOS EARLY SHIT IS GOOD!)-LYNYRD SKYNRD- BOB MARLEY, i mean its endless!!! go back and look at the music charts from back then it just reads as a list of R-N-R hall of famers!!!!

  • id kill thousands of people, just to live one day in the 60's, 70's, or 80's....

  • @sprayboy666 douchebag

  • @frostybob123 i guess im a douche bag because i wanted to share a little sabbath knowledge with

    another fan huh.

    fuck you troll

  • @sprayboy666 not trolling. And I'm referring to your comment about killing people to go back in time. furthermore, why would you pick a thirty year span as if its all the same ? I'm fucking sick and tired of people talking about past decades as if they're countries or locations.

  • @frostybob123 the killing people thing was a figure of speech dude. i wouldn't actually go to those lengths.

in other words, i really wanna go back to the 80's. idk why you would get pissed off at that. its not your problem to worry about.

anybody would like to go back in time to some certain period.

  • @sprayboy666 It IS my problem. i am the protector of the gate.

  • @frostybob123 ...what the fuck are you talking about?

  • @frostybob123 i am the key master, are u the gate keeper? fuck u both

  • @sprayboy666 well if you like this music you shouldnt go back to the 80,s CAUSE IT CAME OUT IN 74!!!! the 1970,s in particular the early 1970,s from 70-75 is the best period in the history of music! you had the most legendary bands(BESIDES THE BEATLES, CAUSE THE BROKE UP IN APRIL OF 70) coming out with theyre best stuff! zeppelin released all theyre best stuff from 70-75, the stones did theyre best album, exile on main street in 72, THE WHO-ALICE COOPER and so on and so on!

  • @ozzyhead73 the 60's, 70's, and 80's dude. all 3 of them hold amazing musicians and historic events that

will forever go down in history.

the psychedelic 60's with woodstock, jimmy hendrix, mama's and the papas, the hippy movement ect.

the rock n roll 70's with black sabbath, zeppelin, and everything you basically said

and of course the hair 80's with bands like motley crue, skid row, white lion, and

when rock was at its prime.

i love all 3 of them man. and id love to see it for myself

  • this song put me in an endless hall

  • This song is awesome,it came from the best album sabbatrh ever did.

  • This is beautiful Bill Ward is awesome

  • @hughsayshi actually, ozzy sings this song dude. its been proven. but its still awesome regardless

  • Awesome song. Wonder who played flute? Flute really adds a dimension most people in the rock world overlook. It gives a melancholy feel that really adds depth to the song.

  • @pbonney Wikipedia says Iommi played the flute. And the piano.

  • @pbonney I couldn't agree less, it gives me the feeling of being in a calm swampy place for some reason

  • Everything I posessed - Now they are gone.....

  • hmmmmm - ja einfach sehr schön,

  • 7 people are politley sucking dick.

  • Sabbath oh Sabbath, when will the world see your Poetry. When will it listen to the words you have shared.......

  • @looklikebuddha damn radio is to lazy to go find good songs they overlooked in the past

  • Hands down, the best lyrics ever written. This fits on so many people in so many different ways. An inspiration to all musicians young or old. And no, you don't need a freakin joint to enjoy the nihilism in this song..

  • 7 shits ( emos or rapers) dislike this song

  • this song prooves that sabbath isnt just metal... its much more than that

  • RELAXING SONG

  • So beautifull song, and so beautifull lyrics. Black Sabbath are GODS! This is just PERFECT.

  • Tony iommi genius os soul guitar

  • Growing up with CSNY as my favorite band, it took me a few years to branch out into more power chord driven stuff. But I must say, SABBATH IS FUCKING AWESOME. Damn, they rock. I mean Zeppelin, the Stones, Chicago, Hendrix, Clapton, Cream, CSNY, they all are amazing. But if you leave Sabbath out in the cold, you are an ass. Plain and simple.

  • it doesn't matter what catagory you put Black Sabbath into, they defined an era

  • in this solitude i have lost my mind ....in this song i have win knowledge ....

from this artist their dream i will cary on ...

we are th new generation to keep this kind of music exist forever ...

  • it's OZZY singing! No one else.
