I stopped watching the media on TV a long time ago. I get the info I want online. I actually hardly watch TV. I disagree a bit. I wanted to know what happened and they needed to report this. I wanted to hear what the killer said to try to understand what the hell he was thinking. I would be very upset if they censored what happened.
What the majority of us were upset about was not that they talked about him, or that they aired portions of his video, It was the airing his pics over and over, They did nothing but for a week strait talk about him, showing the same footage over and over, meanwhile there was real important news being shoved to the side. The pictures of him holding the guns was not needed to " understand" him. They just glorified what he did. They gave him the attention he wanted.
You said the exact things I was thinking. They gave a killer exactly what he wanted...great job NBC!
I want stories about the victims, not about a killer. If they do make films or movies about it then I think they should divide it among the victims and their family. (Wishful thinking, I know)
NBC was most likely afraid the information would leak and they would not be first with the story. Cho laid the golden egg and it was burning a hole in their pocket.
yes, but I totally agee with your comment. They could have done the respectable thing, But we are talking about the news here ;)..Shame on us for thinking any different.
It's good for the media and for Bush too. The media because they have more on an original story to cover, and Bush because it takes away attention from all the shit he does.
In addition, you can write an online complaint to the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission about how violence is portrayed in the media.
Oh is there? I will check it out, You know, When I found out that NBC gave the package to the officials I was so impressed! Boy did they fool me..Oh for what all of 2 hrs? Should have known they would have done this. I will def check out what you mentioned, Thanks for the heads up!
Yah, I don't know if they have any videos from Youtube linked to that facebook group yet? It would be good to let them know about what's going on here at Youtube so that we can have a bigger discussion about the way that violence is being portrayed in the media.
Hey great video. Been sending lots of email to NBC, HP and Dow lately about not giving a platform to these individuals. I feel that NBC has increased the likelihood of this tragedy happenning again, and therefore it would be in the public interest never to air his manifesto.
I def agree as I'm sure you can tell. I do believe this is part of why their are copy cat situations. They see them getting the attention so there for they try to get it as well. You know its not a bad idea to email the corperations. Voices should be heard, Amazingly enough not everyone wants to see these pics and stories over and over again. Thank you!

It may be "wishful" thinking. But I love the idea regardless!

I don't think family members of the victims wanted to speak at the time of the reports.

NBC totally blew it. But they also succeeded in proving just how low TV news has sunk.
Oh, I could go on, but we've already covered this in pvt messages, right?

I really don't get you people. Why wouldn't they show it?
DigiEvolve 4 years ago
Nobody said they wouldnt, Some of us feel why? again, what purpose did those pics truly have?
akfhome27 4 years ago
People wanted to know more about the person who did this.

That was nnot my issue, the issue we had was showing hr after hr the same photos of him with the guns..THAT taught no one.
