@djwyankees How's it going? Have you ever taken the gearbox out before? If not, find a video on M4 V2 gearbox disassembly. That should show you the steps. That is how I learned. Next open up the gearbox carefully as instructed in the videos and locate the loosened trigger assembly. I believe it was a matter of clipping a spring back in place and popping something back in to alignment. Should be pretty straightforward when you see it. It's been a while for me so I don't remember exactly. Goodluck

i just got this gun today....420-439 out of the box...only thing is that mines a dpms has the same thing with tight bore , high torque motor and a m120 spring...
if the trigger gets loose do i have to open the gear box?

What broke in that gun after a while is a little metal post that keeps the trigger contact in place. If the gearbox is rebuilt correctly, it can still go full auto, just one shot in semi kills it and can't be used until it is opened up again.
I basically bought the gun from him, but overhauled the internals, put a backwards AFG and a scope since it runs 400+ on local fields.

Since you sound like you know what you are talking about with this gun and had it for a while I have 2 questions about the 2010 enhanced model and they are
1. Does the gun gearbox vibrate violently when in full auto if in like a 4-6 second burst.
2. What is the real full range on the gun.
And at what max range with a 3-6 sec burst can u hit someone
1) Yes the gun's gearbox shakes violently; being the reason why it breaks so easily. I think they just put a spring that is too strong for the gearbox. The internals of the gearbox may be good but the shell itself is weak.
2) The real range of this gun is about 120-150ft at most depending on if you are using .2's or .25's. I would say this gun works with .25's if you want range and accuracy. If you want to hit on key with what you aim at (not spray) then probably no more than 100ft.
@MACER545 for durability reasons, yes I would say the standard model puts less stress on the gearbox. Although I am not up to date with what comes in the standard model. Either stick with the standard model or go with something of better quality.
Same here my gun doesnt shoot anymore, my friend said its the wire battery or something, and if its not the battery then Im going go with you aaron, can you do a video to take it a part and show me how to fix it?
@808RJR Unfortunately I've already sold the gun a while back. Just watch any v2 gearbox dis-assembly video and you will see how the internals of the gearbox looks. Also try pulling the trigger now before you open it. Half way through the trigger pull you should feel it making contact with the trigger assembly. This will be felt as a heavier pull half way through. If it does not feel any different all the way through then most likely the trigger spring on the assembly came off. Good luck!
@Taskforceairsoft141 The bottom rail is only 3 inches long. I think it CAN hold a grenade launcher although that thing would be REALLY long. You can try to get a short grenade launcher?
you can find these rail mounts online. I got mine at a local store called AEX airsoft extreme in Santa Clara or Oakland, CA. You can also search riser mount and see what you get. GL

yea that is true unless ppl want to slap on a mock suppressor or want the versatility of having an orange and black tip to interchange. Rules are kind of strict around here unless you want to get shot by the police.
No need for a peq box. The gun is nicely ventilated if you are worried about heat. The size of the battery does not increase with mAh. It only increases in segments if you up the voltage. Ex- 8.4v is made of 7 pieces, 9.6v is made of 8 pc 10.8v is made of 9pc and so forth. The 9.6v is plenty sufficient for this gun and a 3000mAh should fit the same as your 1100mAh. It should last you a lot longer too, but man 30 mins? haha you must be holding down full auto the whole time. Good luck.

yea I heard the ones in the US comes with an 8.6v battery. Should be fine. Although a 9.6v gives you crazy ROF. The 8.6v should perform very well even with this gun since the mosfet speeds it up a bit to begin with.
Ok figured it out. For anyone who buys this from an AMERICAN company the safety tips have a roll pin installed so you have to destroy the tip to remove it. Just be carefull not to tear up the threads when u get it off.
Yea I don't have the guns anymore, miss it a bit. However, the grip is super easy to change out. See the two screws at the bottom of the pistol grip? Remove those two screws to remove the cover. Now you will see the motor with a red (power) and black (ground) line. Take off the connectors from the motor remembering where they go and which way the motor faces. Take out the motor and you will see two screws inside connecting the grip to the gearbox. Remove the screws and slip off. Hope this helps!
I just picked up the 2010 model from airsplat for $200. I am having problems removing the tip tho, mine has a roll pin in it so I cant just twist it off( clockwise I know)
Not sure what the roll pin you are referring to looks like. Is it an allen screw? I'm sure there is some way to remove whatever is holding it in. Check around. The 2010 model I got actually had a tip that was easier to twist off than the one on my 2008. After removing the small set screw it twisted off with ease. Also some tips may have glue if you have a plastic tip. Dip it in hot water then twist off. Hope this helps.

you should make a tutorial on how to install a grip on this gun. I really want to buy an SPR grip but I have not the slightest clue on how to install it =X.
The SPR grip installed normally as do other Marui based AEGS. Remove the motor grip cover, unclip the motor connectors (The red and black wires from the motor), pull out the motor, and pull out the screws holding the motor grip from the gearbox. Really simple.
I actually have this gun now, it just has a semi-broken semi-auto that doesn't function correct.
those are not the ones with the metal receivers. I had a plastic one before like those but metal is more durable although heavier. Either way I sold my guns so no more airsoft for me anyways =)

I think mine had the same problem actually. The trigger assembly came loose and is not meeting the contact. You may have to open the gearbox to fix it.
Effin' sweet kids. My uncle has a KWA M4 and this just in specs gets rid of the KWA. Imagine that....JG outstripping a KWA. TAKE THAT FRAT BOYS! Would've been nice if JG thought of throwing in EBB and a three round burst mode into it then it would kill TM, KWA, CA shit all "high end" guns. ARES M4A1? Nah, why when you've got a high quality FM AEG right here with a stoked up gear box and 6.035mm tight-bore? For half the price! If JG keeps it up their going to be the new KWA...only cheaper.
I doubt it, they aren't much cheaper, but I just got the Commando version of the regular M4 for $230 with is a bit less than a KWA so you never know. Plus the JG comes with a mosfet so.

U've got this all wrong the one which u perceive to be the '2010' version is the 2008 version- i should know, I own it. It has those trades on it. The rifle you seem to be comparing it to is the 2005 or there abouts (not sure of exact date, could be earlier) version.
uh...no. I got mine from Hong Kong right before the 2010 models were available here as the "2010" models such as airsoftmegastore. It comes with a mosfet preinstalled which is completely new for the 2010's. Only the hong kong 2010's came with the trades for this years model where as the US ones do not have the trades on it. You guys in the US are either two years behind or you've got the whole thing wrong. The 2008 model has a mosfet fitted- end of. That is the 2008 UK model you've got there- it most certainly isn't the 2010 version. Oh and don't patronise me, you American's can't tell your right hand from you left.
i have a 2008 jg m4 s-system i might get 9.6c battery whats easier to fit nun chuck or just solid battery and i modded the wires so now i have long enough wires to get a peq battery box so i have one of the battery peq boxes on there but what would fit easier nun chuck or solid battery and were would i get one?
any 9.6v nun chuck style battery will fit nicely and easily inside. Back when I had my 2008 model I would prefer my 9.6v nunchuck over my stock solid one pc 8.4v. The one pc batteries were always difficult to fit inside due to the barrel and limited space.
The JG gearboxes have a lot of vibration. My gearbox already broke where a tiny metal tab inside the gearbox holds the trigger contacts in place. The m130 spring is very strong and may eventually wear the components down. If something breaks, upgrade with stronger parts I guess. Cross your fingers and hope nothing breaks. Good luck!
Although the voltage is higher, the capacity is still only 1100 mAh so it will not last any longer than a typical battery. You can probably go a whole day of playing at the field and have no problems. I'm guessing you can easily do 2500-3000 rds atleast? I am pretty conservative when it comes to shooting so I don't go through more than 1.5 hi caps a game

Hello..anyone can help me !!!!i have jg full metal m4 s system, i think i have problems with taking out the screw for flash hider .Screw was worn out by trying to take out ,i even had tried with right 1.5mm hex key.Can you pls tell me any idea to remove this flash hider .And also magazine release screw ,couldn't find any tools (tried with 1.5 mm or 2.00mm hex key) ..pls help...thx!!!!
I use to have a 2008 M4 and I messed up that one too. I took a drill bit and just drilled out that cheap little screw. Then after it fell out I just twisted off the tip. The magazine release screw may not be something you want to mess permanently however. Perhaps try to dremel a new groove in to the screw head and use a flathead to loosen it. Just a thought since I've done that for stripped screws on other things before. Good luck.

o man. I've opened gearboxes too many times to count. I hate doing it now. It is not fun at all and make sure you know what you are getting in to. You will have to take out the receiver pins, the magazine release, the butt stock and a pin that holds the gearbox in place. You will also have to remove the motor and grip since there are screws in side the grip that are attached to the bottom of the gearbox. Like i said...it's a LOT of work. But if you do it enough like me you get it done quick. GL
hey..is me again .JG FULL METAL M4 S-SYSTEM Can you pls tell me in order to take out inner barrel , you just take the body pin out (ONLY BACK) , push up the upper receiver and that's it right?
not with the full metal one. It has a metal hop up unit which kind of stocks. You have to take out both body pins. Slide the bottom half back until it disconnects then you will have to pull the bottom half apart from the top. It will be a bit of a squeeze since it is a tighter fit than a plastic body. After that just pull out the hop up and inner barrel assembly. Reverse to put back.

just go to any hardware store. I went to a local value store here in the Bay Area and found a set for $3. The sets usually come with different sizes. However, for this gun make sure you get the metric ones. (mm) This model compared to the 2008 uses less phillips screws but a lot more hex and star*/allen screws. Makes it difficult =/

an upper and lower receiver just means the top and lower part of the gun. Just go to an airsoft website and type in m4 receiver and you will see exactly which part. Lower receiver is the part that the magazine clips in to.

Take out the motor and you will see two screws inside connecting the grip to the gearbox. Remove the screws and slip off. Hope this helps!

I just picked up the 2010 model from airsplat for $200. I am having problems removing the tip tho, mine has a roll pin in it so I cant just twist it off( clockwise I know)

Not sure what the roll pin you are referring to looks like. Is it an allen screw? I'm sure there is some way to remove whatever is holding it in. Check around. The 2010 model I got actually had a tip that was easier to twist off than the one on my 2008. After removing the small set screw it twisted off with ease. Also some tips may have glue if you have a plastic tip. Dip it in hot water then twist off. Hope this helps.

you should make a tutorial on how to install a grip on this gun. I really want to buy an SPR grip but I have not the slightest clue on how to install it =X.

The SPR grip installed normally as do other Marui based AEGS. Remove the motor grip cover, unclip the motor connectors (The red and black wires from the motor), pull out the motor, and pull out the screws holding the motor grip from the gearbox. Really simple.
I actually have this gun now, it just has a semi-broken semi-auto that doesn't function correct.

those are not the ones with the metal receivers. I had a plastic one before like those but metal is more durable although heavier. Either way I sold my guns so no more airsoft for me anyways =)

I think mine had the same problem actually. The trigger assembly came loose and is not meeting the contact. You may have to open the gearbox to fix it.

Effin' sweet kids. My uncle has a KWA M4 and this just in specs gets rid of the KWA. Imagine that....JG outstripping a KWA. TAKE THAT FRAT BOYS! Would've been nice if JG thought of throwing in EBB and a three round burst mode into it then it would kill TM, KWA, CA shit all "high end" guns. ARES M4A1? Nah, why when you've got a high quality FM AEG right here with a stoked up gear box and 6.035mm tight-bore? For half the price! If JG keeps it up their going to be the new KWA...only cheaper.

I doubt it, they aren't much cheaper, but I just got the Commando version of the regular M4 for $230 with is a bit less than a KWA so you never know. Plus the JG comes with a mosfet so.

I Im thinking about geting the JG M4 S-System 2010 but there is 2 upgrades you can get they are
Power upgrade V2 Tuning level 2-$120 on top of reg price
The other one is Power upgrade V2 Tuning level 3 $130 so it would cost me a lot more.

U've got this all wrong the one which u perceive to be the '2010' version is the 2008 version- i should know, I own it. It has those trades on it. The rifle you seem to be comparing it to is the 2005 or there abouts (not sure of exact date, could be earlier) version.

uh...no. I got mine from Hong Kong right before the 2010 models were available here as the "2010" models such as airsoftmegastore. It comes with a mosfet preinstalled which is completely new for the 2010's. Only the hong kong 2010's came with the trades for this years model where as the US ones do not have the trades on it. Research my friend. If you didn't notice, I ordered it from Hong Kong from rsov. com. All the info is listed. Read up =]

You guys in the US are either two years behind or you've got the whole thing wrong. The 2008 model has a mosfet fitted- end of. That is the 2008 UK model you've got there- it most certainly isn't the 2010 version. Oh and don't patronise me, you American's can't tell your right hand from you left.

any 9.6v nun chuck style battery will fit nicely and easily inside. Back when I had my 2008 model I would prefer my 9.6v nunchuck over my stock solid one pc 8.4v. The one pc batteries were always difficult to fit inside due to the barrel and limited space.

The JG gearboxes have a lot of vibration. My gearbox already broke where a tiny metal tab inside the gearbox holds the trigger contacts in place. The m130 spring is very strong and may eventually wear the components down. If something breaks, upgrade with stronger parts I guess. Cross your fingers and hope nothing breaks. Good luck!

Although the voltage is higher, the capacity is still only 1100 mAh so it will not last any longer than a typical battery. You can probably go a whole day of playing at the field and have no problems. I'm guessing you can easily do 2500-3000 rds atleast? I am pretty conservative when it comes to shooting so I don't go through more than 1.5 hi caps a game

rsov. com but you'll need a US standard battery charger. The one from HK is not compatible to our outlets. I'm actually getting ready to sell mine since I don't airsoft anymore. So sad...I'm selling it with 2 9.6v batteries, the mock suppressor and the SPR grip all for $225. That's extra accessories and trademarks yet still cheaper than $250 at airsoftmegastore for the one without trademarks. In the bayarea? Let me know ppl.

Hello..anyone can help me !!!!i have jg full metal m4 s system, i think i have problems with taking out the screw for flash hider .Screw was worn out by trying to take out ,i even had tried with right 1.5mm hex key.Can you pls tell me any idea to remove this flash hider .And also magazine release screw ,couldn't find any tools (tried with 1.5 mm or 2.00mm hex key) ..pls help...thx!!!!

I use to have a 2008 M4 and I messed up that one too. I took a drill bit and just drilled out that cheap little screw. Then after it fell out I just twisted off the tip. The magazine release screw may not be something you want to mess permanently however. Perhaps try to dremel a new groove in to the screw head and use a flathead to loosen it. Just a thought since I've done that for stripped screws on other things before. Good luck.

hey.. i just have a question ? Have you tried taken out the gear box before ? And do you also need to take out magazine catch in order to take out the gear box? o man. I've opened gearboxes too many times to count. I hate doing it now. It is not fun at all and make sure you know what you are getting in to. You will have to take out the receiver pins, the magazine release, the butt stock and a pin that holds the gearbox in place. You will also have to remove the motor and grip since there are screws in side the grip that are attached to the bottom of the gearbox. Like i said...it's a LOT of work. But if you do it enough like me you get it done quick. GL

not with the full metal one. It has a metal hop up unit which kind of stocks. You have to take out both body pins. Slide the bottom half back until it disconnects then you will have to pull the bottom half apart from the top. It will be a bit of a squeeze since it is a tighter fit than a plastic body. After that just pull out the hop up and inner barrel assembly. Reverse to put back.

just go to any hardware store. I went to a local value store here in the Bay Area and found a set for $3. The sets usually come with different sizes. However, for this gun make sure you get the metric ones. (mm) This model compared to the 2008 uses less phillips screws but a lot more hex and star*/allen screws. Makes it difficult =/

an upper and lower receiver just means the top and lower part of the gun. Just go to an airsoft website and type in m4 receiver and you will see exactly which part. Lower receiver is the part that the magazine clips in to.

nope, it does not go over any bird cage flash hider. This one simply screws on to the reverse threaded 14mm tip after you remove the orange tip.
