USS Forrestal Naval Disaster Memorial

Was in "R" division, did fire watch patrols, saw fires, people running, ship shook from explosions. and that was December of 69. All in your mind, I was told.

The ship shook so bad I was momentarily hanging on a forward latter so as not to fall aft.

Didn't get to the Forrestal until the Med cruise after the fire, It was haunted!

Thanks for your comment and I never made a Med cruise but I wondered if the ship would be haunted after the great lost of life in there young ages. Thanks again for this comment.

I remember this, Jimmy! 44 years ago, this coming July 18th (1967).....I was on my way home. Stayed in the military until January 13, 1978. bob

Thanks and I at the time was in a reconnaissance squadron HVAH-11 and when viewing the video you will see RA 5C jets that have a checker board tail. Blessing :)

in the fire of USS Forrestal there was a guy i fogot his name but he tried to put out the fire and told his friends to get back then the cook off time of a bomb went and it blew up killing him and there was a building dedicated to him i know how the fire started but i have to think to remember it.
